This chapter pretty much puts Asahi above your average harem protagonist. I think it could have been done better, but good enough.
Chapter 81 can't come soon enough. The author is a genius for coming up with that chapter.
So seconding this.
WARNING: The next chapter will absolutely devastate your sides. Do NOT read it if you just had your meal. (or eating and drinking anything atm of chapter 81 go online)

Wait...What?Asahi proves that he is one heck of a sweet guy. Most importantly, though? He can actually read the fucking situation.
There are only a few harem protagonists who can do that, which is fairly depressing. It's also a testament to how fantastic and fun these characters are that the relatively bland one still stands head and shoulders above most of the idiots we call heroes.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018And with that, Mikan is the only one of the three girls that didn't steal a kiss from Asahi. Ganbare Mikan.
We probably all thought the same thing here, huh… finally a protagonist who can read the fucking mood and compute 1+1.
Yeah, it's probably more a matter of "clearing the path" for Youko and Asahi. Nagisa is all the more commendable for having the guts to confess despite that.
…
Sh-Should we put a warning at the beginning of chap 81 and 82? People might actually die reading those ones. .−.

This chapter was really hilarious. Eye Scream!
But what's even more remarkable is how genuine the emotions are. This manga does something that few harem series even attempt to try much less this well: a honest look in what it means to be the Girl B. She knows he'll reject her. He knows he'll have to reject it. Both know that this is something they have to go through if she's to move on. Nobody is in the wrong, no one is a villain. Aizawa isn't a nuisance, Asahi isn't heartless, Youko didn't steal him from her. Love is just sometimes painful, rejection and unrequited feelings are something most people will have to face at least once in their life.
I hope the manga will keep going in this direction and show that getting rejected is not the end of the world. Because this could seriously become the best harem comedy ever.
Rosario + Vampire did that to, except in that case the Official Couple didn't really notice all the other girls angsting. I think it's done better here.
I so want Akari to become a subversion of the Christmas Cake character and become a hero or something. Like "fuck that, I'm single and proud to be!"
Speaking of which, do you think Akari actually has a supernatural Super-Strength, gags aside?
edit: Huh, simultaneous posts.

Maybe all the Demon mana turned to physical strength
I wonder if all Jitsu Wa Demons are as OP as Akane.
Secret Signature@Lynedith: I sort of have my doubts, but that would be a great twist.
A "Wait for a bit, and then we'll talk" ending with the Akari/Sakurada thing is the most probable ending, though.
@Alekos: With that Emperor of Fear thing, they're all probably even worse.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Well in chapter 111 Saki the succubus tells Akane that as an "low-class demon" she's honored to meet a "legendary demon" like her. So it seems Akane is pretty big in the demon world (if there's even such a thing).
More anime info: Okada will be voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa, Shimada by Hiro Shimono, and Sakurada by Wataru Hatano (Gajeel!)
About Shimada…

Good thing I've never associated Hiro Shimono with roles like that (because his role as Katsuragi Keima is still fresh in my mind).
Fantastic Supreme Überkaiser Emperor Folt of The Infinity and Beyond" ... "The First"!Very very meek: Nope, not even an ounce of it.
Painfully shy: In a way, maybe.
Artistic Sense: Hahaha no....
Wait...What?And as for the Unwanted Harem, it's rather the opposite.
Butt-Monkey however…
I fail to see why the announcement refers to them as "the baka-trio" though. Oka and Sakura are the closest thing this series has to smart characters.
… the chap might as well have been titled "Let's get a room!"
Chapter starts with mnemonic puns based on alternate pronunciations of Japanese numbers, to remember historical dates and names. It's funny that for once a study session in a romcom actually mentions the content of the studies, but… err… thanks a bunch for the lvl 100 translation puzzle, Masuda. That was a weird kiss by the way… did he kiss her on the corner of the mouth or something?
And then… Youko is briefly distracted by Asahi's neck like in 101. And at the end, a wild plot appears! Again! Box girl reveals that Asahi and Youko aren't married in the future. Ouch.
I thought that Boxgirl was Saki too at first but… given the nature of what she says, it's unlikely. :x
PS: Should we add Anguished Declaration of Love to Aizawa's character? The problem is that it starts with an A so it's gonna be the first thing visible, even if we spoiler out the content…
PS2: … now that I think of it, do we even know what Akari teaches exactly? If she's even limited to one subject… she did serve as a PE "teacher" in chap 98…

This is a fun manga. Everyone's an idiot, and the plot's having fun with that. Well, it wouldn't work without that. I wonder how many plots can be summed up with "Akane's messing around again."
Oh, wait, raws discussions. How many spoilers are leaking out from those?
Check out my fanfiction!Scanlations are at chapter 80. Raws are at chapter 114.
So… a lot. Especially since the story becomes a bit more plot-heavy in the 90s/100s (though that's not saying much).

Raw 114: Load and loads of puns, I can already hear the translators groaning....
PS 2: Man, that chapter was brutal.

Wait...What?Chapter 114: Should I be getting worried at the end part...? That looks like serious stuff....but then again, Karen was introduced similarly, and look how she actually is.
On a sidenote, do we know the name of the school?
I thought the same yeah… the serious stuff never stays serious for very long in Jitsu wa. Still intriguing though.
As for the school's name… I don't think we do…?
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the name of the school goes along the line of "Monster's school" or "Demonic school".
Wait...What?It won't stick. I am not in denial. It can't...It can't...
Speculation time. There are several ways I see this playing out.
Either the chapter ends with a "the future is unwritten" note that drags out the harem shit (no)
Something horrendous involving Youko's bloodlust will have Asahi brush elbows with death, leaving the former guilt-ridden, and the latter traumatized...Honestly not sure if this has a good chance of happening or not.
Maybe this is the "test the strength of your relationship" phase of the rom-com; aka the worst one. In the face of this inevitable future, the two prove that love crosses all bounds and that the future is not set in stone, yadda yadda.
And last but not least, maybe this is but an elaborate fakeout from Masuda, as Masuda does. Maybe the box girl's voice is muffled, and they heard her wrong. Maybe it is another example of the cast's piss poor communication skills. Maybe it is Granny Mikan being Granny Mikan and using the box girl to further her ambitions. Maybe box girl is a figment of our imaginations, and we have a box girl in all of us.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Maybe Box Girl means she likes Asahi more and won't let the marriage happen.
Secret SignatureYeah… I have a bad feeling about this, honestly. Resetting the harem after having seemingly resolved it would be the worst possible move, and I don't think Masuda would do that. And indeed a "love changes the futur" mushy arc would be hardly better. Not very Jitsu wa-ish either.
Well, future Mikan's speech already said it: being married ≠ going out with him. I assume there's some twist on that.
I like your second scenario though.
Wait, why is it in a series like this where the protagonist is actually not completely stupid? ...I suppose it's probably because the story has made no secret as to what the official couple is.
