I guess it kinda makes sense that Anders would be in his mid to late 60s. You said it yourself that you imagine him being basically the Arendelle royal family's Alfred. I wonder if he should have a last name or not, like Schneider or something?

[up]Eh, I'm not the best with names. I mostly just picked names that were Norwegian (Fritz, Anders) or biblical (Daniel, Mary). Never really gave Anders a last name.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.

...I thought Anders was his last name?

As for me and OC's names... it's a healthy mix of Shout-Outs. Hans' brothers are named after actors who play villains, Royal Guards get COD characters......

[up]As author of the story, I honestly have no idea if Anders is his first or last name. Hey, at least Anders got a name. The movie never named the Duke of Weaseltown, so I consider it fair game to name characters "the Admiral," "the High Priest," etc.

I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.

The only castle employees with names off the top of my head are Fritz, Anders, Kai and Gerda (remind me if Kai and Gerda are supposed to be married), and Charlotte (Samson is persona non grata in Arendelle).

Samson is Gaston's cousin, not a horse.

I must have been reading other fanfics about the roles of Kai and Gerda as bit characters.

At any rate, as I said, Mr. Samson is definitely going to be persona non grata in Arendelle for trying to make unwanted advances on Elsa. There's no denying that, given how Elsa says she can't believe she let trash like him on the guard and gripes to Fritz about how every guard and one of the maids has made a pass at her.

Another thing: Anna's introductory scene is supposed to be continuing from the last scene of the movie, right?

I do sometimes wonder what Anna did as a kid that caused Kai to go prematurely bald. Maybe it was something involving hair thinner.

[up][up][up]Yep. The fanfic's supposed to pick up right after the end of the movie.

[up][up]The joke is that we don't know.

[up]Ohhhhh... Well, that's just a total coinkydink. I picked the name "Samson" because I was thinking of the biblical Samson (with the luscious, flowing hair).

Without a pronunciation guide, how do you imagine Adrian's name is pronounced? Is it pronounced "Ay-drian" as in "Adrian Monk"? Or is it pronounced "Ah-drian?"

And how is the word "wight" pronounced? Is it pronounced "white" or "wicht?"

Oh, and I'd say the Trials Of Elsa fanfic is technically a doorstopper at 348,200 words in length, making it much longer than the longest Harry Potter book (the 255,000 word Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix).

[up]I've always pronounced Adrian as "Ay-drian," but I'm not sure if that's accurate to the setting. Also, "wight" is a real word with a real pronunciation not dictated by me. It's pronounced like "white."

I really consider Trials of Elsa to be four different books, but I worried splitting them would hurt its traffic.

I think that there's an early case of Chekhov's Gunman in Chapter 1, when it's mentioned that in the mind of the painter hired to do Elsa's and Anna's portraits, he's going to be living like royalty with the money they're paying him, "not like his no-good brother who'd been reduced to selling his depraved, smutty artwork on the streets. Though his brother would inherit his entire mansions should any misfortune happen to befall him," and the peddler in Chapter 18 caught trying to sell illicit paintings of the sisters is supposed to be said brother selling smutty street art.

If I had to put voices to the OCs, I have to say I imagine hearing the voice of Michael Caine when I read Anders' dialogue, Jude Law for Daniel/the wight , Al Pacino for Brandr (based on how he does the Devil in The Devil's Advocate that's kind of what I imagine Brandr behaves like), Meryl Streep for Mrs. Dale, Mark Ruffalo for Adrian, Kristen Bell for Mary, Edward Norton for Fritz, Stanley Tucci or Ted Levine for Admiral Klaus. That's the voices I can imagine in my head when I hear their dialogue.

[up]I didn't really have voice actors in mind for any of my OCs, with two major exceptions. Fritz is Joey Richter in my head and Brandr is something akin to Nolan North's Deadpool. Also, for Anders, I was actually thinking more of the BTAS Alfred than the Dark Knight Alfred. And Kristoff Bell as Mary is probably cheating since I specifcally said she'd copied Anna's voice and all... I might have forgotten to mention this in-story, but once Mary was given a unique body of her own, she was given a unique voice to go with it, so she doesn't sound like Anna anymore.

Also, the first couple chapters were edited to be more in line with the later ones, so I added that Chekhov's Gunman in retroactively.

Yeah, you never can really pin a Fanfic character's voice on any one specific actor or actress, aside from characters that came from the movie. I mean, lines from characters you're importing from the movie have to sound like something that feels natural coming from that voice-artist. I mean, I can easily imagine Kristen Bell's voice saying Anna's lines here and Idina Menzel's voice for Elsa's lines.

On an unrelated subject, I created a trope page for another fanfic. Maybe you could assist in identifying tropes in your spare time?

Off-topic, but I needed to say that I've Frozenified Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado, by renaming many trails and adding some new chairlifts that are Frozen-themed. I even took some inspiration from Trials of Elsa for the names of some of the new lifts and OUAT for some of the trails: see here.

[up][up]Sorry, I'm really lazy about updating my own fanfic's trope page, let alone someone else's.

[up]I created a lift called the 'Brandr Chair' and another called 'Fritz's Chair'. If it helps, I've marked them out here.

Back on Trials of Elsa, there's an interesting difference in word count between it on Fanfiction.net and on Archive of Our Own. On Archive Of Our Own, it's 333,274 words long. On Fanfiction.net, it's 348,231 words long. I want to assume that that discrepancy is because Fanfiction.net also counted the words from the author's notes.

[up] Icky. Poor Elsa... (although it's fun imagining her asking for a saltier soup afterwards, "like the other day just before I fell sick").
