Ugh, those subtitles are way too crowded. The Japanese is not needed. Pull.

Ugh, it's kinda like a macro and we could do with something else.

Also, ugh.

Missing the main part of the trope, indicating that the text is sarcastic in nature through how it looks rather than through implication.

Closer, though. At least it's a character "doing something visual to indicate sarcasm".

I was the uploader of the original image, and I know it's over the top and I don't really mind if it gets pulled. The reason for the Japanese subtitles is that Fantasy Kaleidoscope was animated by amateurs who couldn't afford to hire voice actors, so it was released only with music, sound effects and Japanese subtitles, and then fansubbers added English subtitles over the Japanese subtitles. This translation also illustrates the convention of translating the Japanese net slang term "w" as "lol".

Way closer, I kind of like the sarcasm sign. I bet we can find better though.

Maybe a comic with "a variant speech bubble outline (jagged, dripping, or icicled) or a different typeface than normally used" where that's clearly being used to indicate sarcasm?

I see many tropes there. Gun Nut. Hitler Ate Sugar. Godwin's Law. Poe's Law.

Don't really see Sarcasm Mode.

[up][up] I see the sarcasm, but I agree that those other tropes overshadow it.

There MUST be at least one webcomic that uses italics or something for Sarcasm Mode.

Yeah, I'm real sure there's one.

Lesse... oh, that's classic JAFAAC and no, it's not the one that was pulled recently either.

^ Hmm, not the previous image I was thinking of. It was something from a webcomic.
