Exactly What It Says on the Tin
Feel free post your idea for game you wish someone would start or, if you're a GM type person, peruse this thread to see if there's anything that looks interesting that at least one other person has interest in too.
@Troy: Ditto.
Hi, for what it's worth, yes I am back, GM of R Ps with various success.
I could start brainstorming some ideas to do with the Bioshock one, based on a fanfic I wrote, although would people prefer it to be based in Columbia or Rapture? I've played all the games religiously (Since we've had a city underwater, and a city in the sky, how about a city under the ground?)
The steampunk one would be good too, and it's a shame the ones I've been a part of just faded. So, these two ideas, I am thinking of. Any more interest?

Inspirational quote against powerful image of nature. This: a direct democracy communist underground city. Not sure how viable it is time-wise, but there's been shorter lived nations without some sort of super-technology.
August 1991. With the collapse of the CCCP (USSR) and the КПСС (CPSU), the extremist Communist leader Nicolai Vladimir and several thousand of his followers, fled Southeast into China, hoping to join the Communist party there. At the border of Xinjiang they were turned away by PRC armed forces and forced back into Russia. Not one to give up easily, Nicolai had scouts search the to find an alternate route along the border of what would become Kazakhstan. What they found were tunnels, an incomprehensibly vast network leading right into China; at least, that was the claim by a Mr. Fonhardwigg, who also said he to knew how to navigate them. In an act of desperation to escape the unrest caused by his group's presence, Nicolai took a gamble and the group went underground. The only record of their choice found in the logbook of a nearby lake's unusual lighthouse. After weeks of traveling, with supplies were stretched to their limit, they finally found...
...that was 16 years ago. The once arcadian lands of Shangri-La are today ruled by the iron megacity of Октя́брьскаягра́д (Octobergrad). The center of a nameless democratic-communist nation, here the tyranny of the majority rules, with the ever watchful "мать" (mother) seeing that all get their fair share. The мать, a pseudo-hivemind formed by the mental union of citizens via genetically-engineered symbiotes, guarantees that all votes are accounted for and makes certain no other ideologies take root. All tourists are welcome to stay on as productive citizens, in fact, мать insists! Of course, if one should cease to remain productive there's always work to be done in the Soylent food factories.
May 2007. A UNMOVIC team has been called in to investigate a potential smuggling of Soviet nuclear weapons, and secondarily discover the whereabouts of numerous Chinese, Kazakhstan, Mongolian, and Russian scientists that have gone missing. What they found was worse than anything they could have imagined.
Oh, I have an idea. Probably isn't too good but still...
You all know the Mafia variant Werewolves? Why don't we create an RP around a group of people somehow ending up trapped in a town where they are all given roles from the game?
However, they soon find out that all the powers from their cards are real. Like the hunter, seer, witch... and of course, the wolves...
What do ya think? Is it decent? ...Not horrible? ...Ok...
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.@Devil: I've toyed with the idea of a Mafia-inspired RP before; the one thing that I'm not sure on is whether such an RP should stay true to the actual mechanics of Mafia/Werewolf?
Problem is that I see issues with both answers. If yes, then the roleplaying itself seems a bit irrelevant; if no, then why say it's a Mafia/Werewolf RP and not just a normal RP about mobsters/werewolves?
You are reading this. For any Star Wars fans who aren't afraid of being just a little silly...
Star Wars: Invasion Of Earth
It has been two months since the Battle of Hoth. With the Rebellion seemly shattered, the Empire turns its attention beyond the Galaxy. An Imperial scientist has developed the fastest hyperdrive ever made, a device that can cross galaxies in mere hours. As the first test of this new technology, the Imperials basically pick a few people they don't like, point the ship and press the GO button.
Turns out, they've hit the jackpot.
Through incredible luck, the ship found a planet with primitive locals, factionalized governments, large industrial capacity, and—unbeknownst to the locals—large supplies of Carbon, the backbone material from which almost everything in the Galaxy is made. The planet's name? Oh, Dirt, or Earth, or something. Won't matter when the Empire takes over and names it in the Emperor's honor, right?
The characters are Earthlings at the time of invasion. They must fend off the Imperials, against all odds. Appearances by the Rebellion late into the game are optional, but are probably the only way to force the Empire out for good.
If you make this, I'm definitely joining!
please call me "XionKuriyama" or some variation, thanks! | What is the good deed that you can do right now?I don't know if I'd be down for a Star Wars crossover game but somebody needs to make a new Star Wars RP. Those tend to be really fun.
You didn't sign up for the last one.
Flesh is a design flaw.I was quite busy at the time. I might be able to do it now because I think I've finally balanced out my college life.
Would anyone be interested in a Smash Bros rp? I definitely can't GM this and probably would even have time to play, but I really like the idea of it. (lol)
Like, list the character roster and let people claim characters, then just freestyle a story.
To Smash Bros thread that'd be neat.
As for other threads idea, any recommendation for RPG systems?
Most RPs here are freeform. I myself only know D20, so I can't really be of help here.
The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the groundAh alright cool.
I've just been looking through system ideas and came across a few, wanted to get some recommendations first.
Also is it okay if I take some cues from old threads and use some resources such as lists of allowed items?
Go for it. Just learn what is and isn't copyrightable and that its always good to cite sources.
The D 20 System has almost all it's rules online, for both D&D 3.5, Pathfinder, D&D 5, and d20 Modern. The sheer amount of resources you can find for it is great. However, I dislike the class system and would recommend something like BESM d20 or Eclipse TCP as they both allow for point-build characters.
Other than free-form, my favorite systems are the "statistics auction" from Amber diceless, the "Imperator" creation in Nobilis, and the "dramatic editing" rules of Adventure!. Which makes me want to start an RP that combines those sometime.
Had pitched for a RP where we play as members of an Expy of RAINBOW as we go in to fight bad guys, save civilians and stuff.
Or we do that in a post-cyberpunk world like in Ghost in the Shell.
Ah thank you justanid that should help quite a bit!
I'm already working on a post-cyberpunk game. Will make a signup thread pretty soon.
Flesh is a design flaw.Bleach RP. Players are souls that were once Hollow but have been purified and gone on to join the Court Of Souls. Their former taint still showing, they are relegated to their own separate squad.
@stygian
- No specifics yet?
@ Stygain sounds good!
Wanting to get a revival of a RP with normal characters taken from various characters where they survive against powerful villains or maybe in a survival horror.
Cravin' a Yugioh RP now. >.>
GIVE ME YOUR FACE
I'd like to see a victorian steam punk rp, would be interesting if done well.
Good to be back
