The Worker continues to hobble towards Mami, the ring glowing with the same blue energy as the weapon it originally powered. He pries the ring out from the hilt, and discards the broken shell.

Roaring with rage, the Worker dashes at Mami, and slams the QIP destabilization ring down on her head, aiming to kill her before he is sent away.

Roaring in pure and utter rage as he gets utterly trolled (Mind you, this doesn't happen often), the countdown ends, and his failsafe kicks in, incinerating his body in a flash of flame. Soon, there is nothing left but a pile of ash, his QIP (in layman's terms, soul) being forcefully booted out of his body and having to be reborn in another. He's gonna certainly feel that tomorrow.

Heh, it's always funny watching the Worker, of all people, get trolled. Yeah, he's gonna be pissed at that anti-climax when he rebirths.

The Worker Of Secrets is an immortal, omniscient inventor. He's like a Physical God, and he treats the Earth like his sandbox for experiments. He builds and destroys stuff at his whim, has lived tens of thousands of lifetimes, and claims to have been around for so long, he knows everything, and he can predict anything. Turns out he can't, and that's what screws him over. So yeah, you did sort of Punch Out Cthulhu.
The Worker has been trolled before, and that takes a lot, and those were driving points in the plot. The latest trolling attempt crossed into both Tear Jerker and CMOF territory as it was successful, but a rather popular character got Killed Off for Real.
I'd say Funny, as the abruptness of it and the Worker going poof straight afterwards just sells it.
