But if you get it secondhand, you'll get the outdated CD instead of the superior remastered version. (And it really does make a difference in this case—the music is still great either way, but these were some quality remasters that cleaned up some really muddy mixes from 1987 ago.)
On the other hand, if they have it on vinyl there, great, but I wouldn't expect to find Beatles vinyls there of all places.
And they're still making money off the upload, thanks to You Tube's content ID thing.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Probably not on vinyl, true, at least in any reasonable quality (I understand they are among the more sought-after). You also missed out cassettes in your discussion of formats...
Yes, there's the content ID thing but I don't know if it's perfect- doesn't seem to have recognised the right artist.

Eh, cassettes degrade a lot more easily than most other formats, and thus I don't really find them worth seeking too often (with the exception of things that can only be found on cassette, but those are probably pretty hard to even learn of), as unless someone is super careful with their cassettes (and even still), they'll likely not have that great of sound quality when it comes down to it anyway.
...hm. Weird. It doesn't get the genuine article right, yet it tags a cover of "Nowhere Man" I recorded perfectly, right down to the exact copyright owner and everything.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I know of at least one artist where some of their material is only available on cassette.
Also, I wonder if the original you linked to had the pitch tweaked or something? I know I was trying to find some Olivia Newton-John stuff recently, but the only copies I could find on You Tube were all pitched down a whole-step.
Hm, interesting. I'd heard of Da Yoopers, but didn't know that about them. Hope someone's backed them up to a safer medium.
*checks* Nope, it's fine. But yeah, I've seen that before with tons of songs, though I usually see them pitching it up. I suppose people think they're clever and getting around You Tube's Content ID system there. They're not. They're just being annoying to fans of the music who just want to hear a damn song in its untainted, original form.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.A lot of their cassette era stuff is on For Diehards Only and Diehards 2, but some of it is chopped up and re-recorded. On one track, they kept the original vocal track (sung by a guy who left during the second album) but dubbed in new instruments for some odd reason. I know that the entirety of their second album is on You Tube. I have all of their albums, so I should back up the cassette stuff sometime.
Batman The Animated Series for me. Perhaps it's just that the series is better remembered for its dizzying highs, but many of the more mundane episodes were pretty meh. Compare Justice League, which seems to keep the tempo up at all times.
I do agree that some of the episodes are kind of meh, but I really like the setting and mood for the show.
Besides, even the best of shows have their mediocre episodes.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseWell, one could say the best shows are those where the worst episodes are just not as good as the best ones.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."You know, that makes a lot of sense.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYoung!Me: It's The '80s cartoon in a nutshell, sci-fi Space Western Ham and Cheese with neon colors and 80's music.
Old!Me: It's a Cliché Storm that I now loathe. It's like a Shoddy Knockoff Product version of Firefly or Outlaw Star.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Da Yoopers? The hell, I didn't know yoopers had the mental abilities to compose and perform music.
I joke, it's a Michigan thing, to rib the Yoopers (and they rib us lower peninsula folk)
edited 2nd Jul '14 5:23:04 PM by MarkVonLewis
I don't even know what a Yooper is.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.See that part of Michigan that doesn't look like a hand/mitten? That thing called the "Upper Peninsula" or U.P.? Anyone who lives there is called a "Yooper".
You know, I've always wondered why Michigan is two different landmasses.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.CaptainAmericatheWinterSoldier was a massive disappointment. I get that Hollywood hates drones, but it was so over the top. The HYDRA is running SHIELD has been done by the X-files, countless Above Top Secret forum threads, other books and movies.
Inverted with KickAss and Kick Ass 2. They did the idea better: superheros take down villains and then one leaves most retire (no longer needed) and one sticks around. The action was done right and the movies were way more fun to see.

All night at the computer, cuz people ain't that great. I keep to myself so I won't be on The First 48Ahem.
Spoilers.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYou do realise you're in a forum dedicated to media on a thread which mentions media consistently? Not everybody is going to be all that spoiler sensitive.
Also, one I thought of recently which inverts the principle - Chuck Berry hasn't had such a moment to me, although given his influence that may not be all that surprising.
"Did you expect somebody else?"We have rules about that, and especially clear ones regarding spoilers on the forum. This bit particularly comes to mind:
Now that it's clear what is and isn't a spoiler, the following rogue spoilers are grounds for immediate loss of posting privileges.
- Spoilers in thread titles—you can't hide them, after all.
- Improperly concealed spoilers from works not mentioned in the thread title or otherwise exempted above.
- Improperly concealed spoilers from material that has yet to be released, excluding official previews for such material.
Improperly hiding already released material in the thread for it will just get a Rules thump, but do realize that getting too many of those is just an alternate path to ban-town.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Blink, from Doctor Who. I've never liked a thing Moffat wrote, true, but not having the novelty of the Weeping Angels definitely didn't help me trying this episode out.
Read my stories! So wait, since you have never seen Weeping Angels before means that you didn't like it?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI think he means they're not a novelty after all the ridiculous one-upping of himself Moffat did to make them the scariest monsters ever, to the point where some folks are just annoyed by them now.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatAh.
Well, to that I agree.
They were scary at first, but just became ridiculous after a while.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseYeah. I already knew about the weeping angels. I had seen Angels Take Manhattan. A club I was in made a Weeping Angels -themed game. I had completely accepted the concept by the time I saw the episod.
Read my stories!
There are two slight problems with that:
1. Youtube uploads like that are probably illegal. 2. My computer has no sound at present (possibly as the sound daemon on the Linux distro I'm using isn't starting up? Either way it's a software problem).
EDIT: The easiest way of finding any cheap music will probably have to be the charity shops as usual (there's one in the town which has a shedload of records at the moment)- one has to wade through the dreck though to find anything good...
