*shudders* Well, I certainly find the suggestion to be nightmare fueling. Regan is a good example, but the current picture isn't exactly Nightmare Fuel. I support the suggestion.

Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Neutral, as they don't really differ for me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI purposefully don't visit Nightmare Fuel exactly because of horror images which I really don't need to be shocked by suddenly. I'm always in favor of replacing them with something creepy that isn't actually terrifying. I think they work just as well without actually scaring away people like me.
Same here.
I think they're about equal.
Check out my fanfiction! The current and OP images are about the same, I agree. I was trying to think of something more "creepy" and less "disturbing" for the point Helter Skelter and Willbyr made but couldn't decide on anything.
I could only come up with the shower scene or Chucky, both of which are more Paranoia Fuel on their own. Would something in relation to an Adult Fear make a less disturbing yet more appropriate image for this type of fuel?
Does anyone have an image of the shower scene, or at least one that's not NSFW?
I'm with Helter. I think some of the images are way too scary or nauseating. Good for image links sub-page, but I would rather NOT have them as page images.
I'm less squeamish about the current, so I vote to leave that one.

I like the current to because it's a pretty infamous image around the webs for screamer faces and such.
That scene of RotLA terrified me as a child. I love it.
Not as a page image, though. It's okay, but the current is better. The scariness is subjective, but the objective goal of monstrosity is more obvious.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I'd prefer a creepy/disturbing image more than one that's shocking also. I have some ideas... post again later.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable...what? I'm not a new account, and it isn't allowing me to edit my post...
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThat is apparently one of the weird bugs now. See the ATT thread about .php
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhere is that, please? I can't find it.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableAsk The Tropers. Check for "php" in the search box.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt's fixed now, but for reference, just remove the http:// from your link and it'll post (though not be clickable).
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Personally, I feel most of these are on the same level as the current, except for Nosferatu which looks a bit more like Paranoia Fuel.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think they're more creepy and less ugly than the current.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableNone of those quite cut it for me(aside from the horn in mouth girl, and I think that's a little to much Nausea Fuel for a page image)
So, should we just keep the current image then?
Can't vouch for any of Noaqiyeum's suggestions, but that scene in Labyrinth never really scared me.
Of course, I didn't fully watch the film all the way through until recently, but nevertheless, I'd watched enough to see that scene as a kid, and it didn't leave much of an impression at that point. The only impression it left as an adult is "wow, that's pretty inventive use of hands."
Moon◊This is gathering dust and the general consensus is for the current, so I'm gonna go ahead and lock up.
From Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I think Toht's face being melted better illustrates Nightmare Fuel than Regan, or at least that photo of her.
