Huzzah, it begins! Part of me wants to offer to judge this, but then again, I really want to enter this time...
"And every life is a special story of its own." —The Stargazer, Mass Effect 3I am participating!
I may? It depends on if I can think of a good idea or not.
(And if there's a list of participants, please don't put me on it yet.)
I'll bite.
Put me as a judge, please. I should be on summer vacation by that time.

Like last time, put me as submission handler, if you're fine with it.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueAre you competing, too?
Nah, I never seem to be able to put anything from my head onto paper/word processor anyways.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueWait...
No, I don't know. The stuff I'm writing is inappropriate.
I would like to participate
I will be participating.
Complicated - because simple is simply too simple.Uh, I think you copied the closing sentence incorrectly. It's ungrammatical now.
I thought I remembered it as being "...the one place where I was never meant to be." Either is grammatically accurate, but the meaning is different. I could be wrong, though.
That said, I shall hereby officially declare my intent to enter this contest. In the event that nobody volunteers to be a third judge, I could be talked into doing that instead so that the contest might go forward, but I'd prefer to write this time around.

"And every life is a special story of its own." —The Stargazer, Mass Effect 3Are there any qualifications required for being a judge?
"..."Many consider starting a sentence with an 'and' (or any other conjunction) to be ungrammatical - personally I would play things safe and avoid using such constructions in a formal letter, but for fiction it's perfectly acceptable.

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.I'll double-check that.
The ability to read, the ability to fairly evaluate the stories even if they're not in your preferred genre/style, the time to read through and provide judgements on all the entries (we generally get 8-15, I think), and a willingness to provide a thoughtful critique of or comments on each story (although it doesn't have to be a long critique). As long as you think you can do all those, you're qualified. You can check towards the end of the past threads to see what judges generally do.
EDIT: I double-checked the final sentence against the concepts thread, and what is there is what was proposed in that thread. If most of the contestants would prefer to add the "was", though, I don't see any reason why we couldn't do so (provided it wouldn't mess up anyone who'd already started work).

Wait, no.
It's not ungrammatical. The two sentences have entirely different meanings.
I'm interested in signing up, but not sure that I'll manage to both get around to sitting down and writing something for this, come up with something based on the lines (although I'm reasonably confident in that) and manage to finish in time, so... if I sign up, is it acceptable for me to drop out? I don't want to hold anything up if I end up running late, or if I decide that it's eating up time that I want to assign elsewhere, etc... :/
My Games & WritingAnyone who doesn't get their work in by the deadline (which often gets extended) is automatically dropped out. And you can drop out at an earlier time, too, if you want. Registration is more to get an idea of the number of contestants so the judges know about how many entries to expect and so that we can socialize as the contest goes on.
What happens if you're finished early? Like, really early? Like... Before May even comes?
Fair enough, and thank you for the clarification, and for adding me to the roster above. ^_^
My Games & WritingThen you've avoided the #1 problem in writing contests: putting off your entry until the very last minute.
Does the premise in the story have to be original? Can I write fanfiction as long as the story itself is written by me?
What if I wanted to upload the story after the contest in some semi-obscure writing site? As long as I don't pimp my work, would that be aloud?
I'm considering joining this contest. Sounds really interesting.
