Seriously, who the hell is this?

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.

Good grief...fucking vandals. It's been reverted; good on y'all for catching this and fixing it. Do we want to mess with this any more?

To answer your question, the picture you were objecting to was put there by a vandal. It has since been reverted to a slightly more fitting image, making this thread look a bit silly.

Whoops, I saw the actual image not the troll one.

[up][up]Nah, I think the guy in red is an excellent image.

I too. Looks like I will have to change the pages I patrol a bit.

Actually, since we got the thread open (Just notice the vandalism)

This is Asmodeus from Dungeons And Dragon. He's also depicted on Demon Lords and Archdevils. And while he IS an example of both tropes, Might I suggest taking the image from Demon Lords and Archdevils and move it over here? This one's white... thing at the bottom is really distracting. Not like there's no good images for Demon Lords and Archdevils from the same work (Glasya his daughter or Mephistopheles)

I think having the same guy on two similar tropes may be a little confusing. I'm not really familiar with the suggestions to say where they fit, though.

They are Archdevils, both of them.

Thing is, Asmodeus is an example of both an Archdevil and a God of Evil. He was the former than became the later. Honestly, I just really hate the white thing at the bottom of the current image, it's my main reason to suggest the swap.

Does he change appearance noticeable between the positions?

On the other hand, I'm not sure how we'd get the difference across in images.

Either of the Mephistopheles pics would work well for Demon Lords And Arch Devils, methinks. I thought I'd throw this out, too, as a possibility for God of Evil...it's a depiction of Nurgle, the Chaos god of pestilence, decay, and, strangely enough, hope, in Warhammer 40000 along with some of his armies and daemons.

There's also Khorne, the Chaos god of war, death, violence, and rage.

Well, the chief difference between an archdevil and a God of Evil would probably be that a god is worshiped. I imagine we can find something to show that.

Yeeah, this is a really annoying troll who I am tracking since some time.

<We now return to our sceduled Image Pickin' discussion>

I'll note that any image here will have to be checked for confusion with God Is Evil. I personally buy Khorne given the beings that surround him, but I have some Not An Example concerns.

Okay, first idea is from Silent Hill. Not great, but I'll post more as I find more.

For a God of Evil, they don't look particularly evil, honestly.

It's mostly the symbolic red, yes.

I've found some pretty awesome images of Moloch: [1] [2] [3]

I'd thought D&D would be a decent place to look, but so far this is all I can find.

D&D is a giant spider, not this trope.

I like middle Moloch best.

The second Moloch makes for a good pic, but was it truly a god of evil?

[up]iirc, historically he/it is something of a case of Everybody Hates Hades and Demonization. But otherwise? Oh yeah. Child sacrifices.

On the topic of Silent Hill, maybe Samael / Incubus?

Right...

Would a good shot of that monster from "The Satan Pit" work (is it a god of evil? Not really, but still)? He's the thing in the page pic. Don't know where to go looking for a larger shot.

Current image: Good.

8.1: Not god-dy or extremely evil-y.

8.2: Already on Hellfire.

8.3: Again, doesn't look much like a god to me.

13.2: Nice.

21.1: I like this one surprisingly much, I think. Very different kind of image, and I think it shows that it's an idol to be worshipped. Issue is that it may be no more than an idol, and is a bit weak on evilness.

21.3: Watermarked. Also looks like any temple for a god, maybe of something vaguely bad.

21.4: Just a monster.

24: 'Ware the boob.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
