Does anyone know where TV Tropes is hosted? I was thinking it be fun to make a picture of the city with text along the lines of TV Tropes Foundation. Likewise, could just find a cool looking high-tech city and use that instead. Not sure what what font to use, any ideas are welcome.

I remember hearing that the servers are somewhere in Texas, I think... Maddy would know.

I think I see where you're going, but I dunno how well it will work for the trope. Some ideas: Tart, and this from the opening of The Hobbit:

Not too fond of it.

The trope is close enough to People Sit On Chairs that most examples look like they could be from a tourist brochure. And intertitles are worse, might be from a T-shirt for all they show. The only way around this I've seen is with animated text, which isn't possible here.

Something specific to the wiki would go a long way of showing how works use a Title In.

Yeah. I'm a little more fond of that one.

The above is just an example, ideally it'd say the actual location and have an actual photo from the area.

EDIT: Nevermind.

Since it's highly unlikely we'll get an actual shot of the TV Tropes server room, run with 5 as a stand-in. It's what Hollywood would do!

I personally like #5.

I know JAG usually does it with a Zulu time notation, quite often with location-establishing shot of the place they work in. I didn't find any good ones on a GIS, though.

Edit: Found a screenshot archive. Let's see if I find anything...

So I did, though naturally not a single one as I described. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. (Site)

[down]Me Too!. They're the best location shots.

[up] 4 and 7 are my favorites.

Pentagon's my favorite. It's such a stock cliche location for this trope to happen as well.

That's basically the difference between 4 and 7. One location caption is useful, the other fairly obvious even without it. Still, time as well.

(Of small note, the Zulu notation is actually correct, as it says 22:20 during a day shot.)

Maybe an aerial shot of the Pentagon with [more] obviously fake text like

The Pentagon, Washington D.C.

Also, justanid, The Pentagon is not in Washington DC. Even a Swiss troper knows that,

Well, it's almost in D.C. Like a bow shot away. If you have a really good bow. And good wind.

Anyway, personally I prefer a real example over a made up one.
