TLP Crash Rescue - Fixing prematurely launched TLPs and pages

I'd be fine with some of the SD pages getting removed. Someone has been rather... too create-happy about it, and while I did make some, I had a lingering feeling that maybe this shouldn't be what we're doing. But some needs to stay if it made sense. I'd vote for just Deadpool, really.

I also think the SD pages have gotten a little out of control, and I would be in favor of cutting the vast majority of them. Deadpool's is the only one I would like to stay.

@Ominae: Until at least three mediums have their own pages, the page should be moved. Unless you can create these three pages in a short time.

@Morgenthaler: Oi. That's a long laundry list. I think other people - not just me - need to cutlist these expired pages.

Re: Self Demo pages: I am going to take this as consensus to remove the ones listed here so far.

@Septimus: The easier way to say which Self-Demo character pages needs to be removed is, well ALL of them EXCEPT Deadpool.

The harder way: Go make up some standards to make a Self Demonstrating Character Page, then remove those who don't fit.

Whichever you choose.

Brian Blessed is pretty legit.

I don't think a complete purge is in order, but something seriously needs to be done about this.

In that case, I recommend asking some people who tends to create a lot of self demonstrating pages themselves even when it's not proper to come here. Some names that come to mind are matt3291992 or 313 Bluestreak...

And of course, me.

There are several SD pages worth salvaging, such as the Joker's, and others only need to be improved (like Mojo Jojo's and maybe Kamina's).

Only the ones for characters whose manner of speech isn't interesting or distinct enough should be deleted. And having a rule for any future pages would help, such as putting them in a Sandbox or a YKTTW first.

If we leave SD Deadpool and such, I'd say we still should remove the redirects from non-SD namespaces.

Discworld is a legitimate namespace, according to its Literature.Discworld page. There may be overlaps with other novels, so we put them there. It's come up before, and consensus was to keep the Discworld namespace for now.

cutlist One Last Goodbye because in addition to its problems, it's the same as Pre-Sacrifice Final Goodbye. The name could be kept as a less wordy redirect to that, though.

We have Blue-and-Orange Morality. A Sexuality subtrope strikes me as far too fine a split. The Blue and Orange concept is also apparently about ways that don't make sense to us poor humans, but make perfect sense to the sentient beings who follow them. Which means it can't have RL examples, since no sentient aliens are known to exist, most animals wouldn't count, and we currently have no way of knowing if the more intelligent ones qualify.

I say that needs the axe.

Also voting for Blue And Orange Sexuality to get nuked. Even ignoring that it's almost accepted that many human sexualities aren't simply x or y, it's a prime target for all kinds of misuse and confusion. And probably unnecessary.

Individual Word Struggle is a un-YKTT Wed trope with one example. Literature/Price is an unindexed work stub with no examples. Literature/Afterglow is a work stub with four examples, three of which are ZC Es. The customary P Ms have been sent for all three. I also cutlisted Individual-Word-Struggle.

Yep, the Discworld books have their own name space because they were having far too many namespace collisions. Same reason Disney has one.

While we're on the topic of SD pages... SelfDemonstrating.Mitsuru Kirijo.

This is bad. Really bad. And Persona 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. It makes no attempt at a unique voice for the character, the entries are just "This applies to me."

Some of which are hilariously out of character anyway.

Also, no one else has commented on the various Adventure Time SD pages (Ice King, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, Simon Petrikov).

Maybe there should be a ban on SD character pages for a while, until the ones we have are cleaned up or cut and there's some outline for when they can be made.

Parroting what I said in the SD Characters thread: the Adventure Time SD pages should be cut for lacking a distinct voice.

At this rate, it might becomes necessary to have a SD review thread like there is for Five-Man Band and Complete Monster. (/half-serious, half-morbid humor)

Actually, I think that would've been a decent idea, rather than having people spam them with low quality. In fact, I am prepared to have SD pages created by me be reviewed.
