Every Work of Fiction is True in Another Universe

Bro, I'm familiar with Umineko: When They Cry, I'm not gonna get a Mind Screw. And I'm not suggesting changing things in the other universes, I already know that doesn't work. I'm suggesting looking at the other universes to figure out what to do with this one.

I'm saying you can't change what happens here as all universes are entirely independant and autonymous

If you mean as in this universe and the others we looked at will just become different dimensions of a bigger universe though it's technically a multiverse since the dimensions are still technically universes, and then the multiverse will be part of a bigger multiverse and that multiverse will be...bagh, I'm getting dizzy...IT NEVER ENDS @A@

Well my theory never implied that it couldn't be done, just that there'd be other universes that wouldn't be so lucky. That's how it works; for every few bad-end universes there's always at least one where we Earn Our Happy Ending, and even though every single action creates more universes that simple fact will never change. Being able to see the multiverse won't change that, since the bad-end universes already exist anyway, so even if it turns out we won't get anything from observing parallel universes it won't hurt us either. It's not like you're living in two universes with different outcomes at once...you're not, right?

But how Do you know the same things will happen in this universe as the one you look in?

I don't. I was thinking of looking at the Downer Ending universes to figure out what to not do. Still legit enough.

It worked for the Stargate guys.

Alright , alright , I'm just saying that the reason we're in a seperate dimension is that things are diffrent here. We don't know what'll work wether we look in other universes or not

Maybe there are different "planes" of reality and the data produced by each one would shape the reality of the next one up.

What's "real" at our level would exist only as data on hypothetical plane that is lower than ours, but data we generate in our reality becomes fact in a universe on the higher plane.

So what? We're a simulation in a simulation in a simulation etc?

Not quite. More like the ideas of a writer in the world below us are shaping ours, and our ideas are shaping other worlds. There may be other worlds created that are on the same level as us, and they would create their own fiction which would be as fictional as our fiction to us.

Now, if fanfics are their own universe, if an author decides to delete a fic, would that universe cease to exist completely, or does it still exist somewhat because it has still been written and is in the form of a file on the author's computer?

Maybe when a fanfic is deleted the universe it was linked to begins to degrade and fall apart. Considering the fact that so many things in fanfics make no sense this may happen to undeleted ones as well... a sort of "paradoxical entropy"

I always presumed that the verses already existed and authors were just uncovering them (in which case the fanfic would be totally fine), but your idea sounds so much cooler

If you say that these universes already exist and are just being uncovered, then what if a writer gets an idea, but the inspiration wears off and he trashes the manuscripts and forgets the idea?

Lol. Just because I think it's awesomer doesn't mean I believe it. People aren't Made of Iron, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome. I'd love to own a dragon/Humongous Mecha/Pokémon, but that doesn't mean they're real (in this universe).

Somewhere, in a certain dimension of another universe, you read that whilst petting your Charizard, wondering what I'm going on about, when your other dimension self appeared out of nowhere just to go "It Makes Sense in Context."
