Pokémon Role-Playing Game Interest Check Thread.

I never really got the hype behind Eevees, but I've always been a fan of the weirder mons anyway.

• Name: Geoff Thompson
• Gender: Dudebro

• Region of Origin: Hoenn
• Personality/Bio: Geoff's always been kind of a simple guy. He wants to see the sights, make some friends, goof around with said friends, and make magical monster pets beat the hell out of each other. He doesn't have any grand ambitions or overarching goals, he just wants to get out there and see all there is to see. He's an adrenaline junky if there ever was one, leaping headfirst into situations that would give most others pause and generally making an ass of himself for his amusement. He's rather flighty as well, though he'd rather you not use that word to describe him. e tends to get bored rather easily, and there are very few things on this Earth that can maintain his attention for too long.
  • Geoff's led a relatively easy life so far, living with his dad in the podunk island town of Dewford. He never had much company growing up. His father, a deep sea fisherman, was usually away at work and his mother had passed away shortly after he was born. A surfing accident, he'd been told. Most of the guys who hung around Dewford Hall avoided him like the plague, and his older brother of twenty six years had long since left on his own journey as an aspiring wildlife photographer. Even when he grew old enough to leave the island, his father forbade him. He had already lost a loved one, he had no desire to risk losing another. It was a dangerous world out there for someone his age. "When you're older", he'd told him before heading out to see again. And yet as the years past and Geoff grew into an impulsive young man, it seemed that day would never come. Eventually, when his fifteenth birthday rolled around ad the sun began to set over the sea, his father took him out to the docks, and handed him three things. A pokeball, a ferry ticket, and a letter, to be opened later. With a short exchange of words and a bone crushing hug, Geoff was off to explore the land of distant Unova, and to experience all the world of Pokemon had to offer him.

• Personality/Bio: Goeff's first pokemon, and his most loyal. Hank is nearly as enthusiastic as his trainer, if much more controlled. He tends to act as Geoff's voice of reason, attempting to ward the young lad away from anything too dangerous and generally acting as a faithful, if deathly silent, companion for when Geoff's feeling rather down. He almost sees Geoff like a father would his son, though he'd deny any claims towards that sort of thing. Strictly a professional relationship. He tends to be rather blunt towards others, speaking his mind with little regard for the consequences. No point in mincing words, especially with matters of import.

• Species: Elgyem
• Gender: Male

• Personality/Bio: The first, and so far only, pokemon that Geoff has managed to capture on his own, Tom tends to be a little spacey, for lack of a better word. It seems like he lives in an entirely different world than everyone else, frequently talking to himself or simply staring off into space, contemplating who knows what. He has great difficulty interacting with others, as he often disregards or ignores emotional reactions and most conversations with him tend to become one-sided in either direction. He's fiercely loyal to Geoff, mostly because Hank told him he was, and will defend his trainer with his life.

Personality: This girl is hyper, fiery, a bit flirty, and above all a fan of DRAGONS. She loves meeting and catching new ones ever since she revived a shiny Bagon for her birthday, and is currently focusing on training her team.

(Note: The flirtiness is merely a character trait; If/when I want an actual relationship that goes beyond wanting some guy in her pants being smitten I'd clarify with someone else first.)

Region of Origin: Unova (either Castelia or Opelucid, not sure which...)

• Personality: Basicallly a cat in a dragon's body, punctuates his sentences with "nyan"

• Personality: On head is childlike and loves sweets, the other is a megalomaniac who hates humans and aspires for world domination.

Tiamat the Seadra

• Gender: Female
• Personality: Snarky, but also something of a Team Mom, and keeps Alduin in line despite having a crush on him.

Seishirou the Gabite

• Gender: Male
• Personality: Heavily distrusts humans, and considers Fuuma his "brother"

Fuuma the Vibrava

• Gender: Male
• Personality: Has a close bond with Seishirou, and shares a disdain for humans.

Bozaka the Dragonair

• Gender: Female
• Personality: Cheerfully morbid, with a warped sense of danger.

• Personality: He is calm and collected but also a bit introverted. Obviously he´s a fan of ghosts. He likes meditation and silence.
• Bio: His parents didn`t have much time for him, so he usually played in the Pokèmon tower, where he discovered his love for ghost Pokèmon. He befriended a Litwick there, that would later become his starter Pokèmon and is now the Chandelure in his team.

• Personality: As The Leader she is the most levelheaded of the group. In battle she is The Mario with Glass Cannon tendencies.

• Personality: The Lancer of the team. He is afraid of direct combat and prefers to attack the enemy with status ailments.

• Gender: Male
• Personality: The Smart Guy , who prefers tactics and type advantages to brute force. He likes to use a Hypnosis-Nightmare-Curse-Dream Eater combination.

• Name/Species: Cofragius
• Gender: Male
• Personality: As The Big Guy of Victor`s team, he tends to overestimate his own powers and prefers brute force to strategy. He is probably a bit deranged, as he is prone to break out in evil laughter for absolutely no reason. Nevertheless he is incredibly loyal to his team and would do everything for them.

• Gender: Female
• Personality: The Chick of the team. Usually gentle and compassionate, but if you piss her off, you should run. She doesn´t like fighting that much, but in battle she tends to forget her defense for the sake of evasion.

You have Ghost-types and that makes you awesome.

And that sign-up form of mine is still coming, I'm just having a hard tome deciding what my Sixth Pokémon will be. I'll get it up at some point. I swear. ._.

Sounds like I'm going to have to add another Pokemon or two. Not that it would help, since I'm going for someone rather inexperienced.

• Gender: Female
• Personality: Rosso is rather rash and impulsive. While not disloyal, when it comes to battle she is very likely to do her own thing in battle if it seems she has the upper hand. She also jumps to conclusions quickly, especially if she perceives a threat to Alex or the other Pokemon, and will most likely initiate battle with no questions asked.
  *If there's one thing Rosso seems to love above all else, it's dancing. Every opportunity to do so will be taken.

• Attacks: Quick Attack, Spark, Mud Slap, Headbutt

• Name: Azul
• Species: Minun
• Gender: Male
• Personality: Very calm and composed, unlike Rosso. Always following orders, Azul fulfils his role as support/debilitation expert rather well. Although if Azul is let near any caffeine, expect to see the most hyperactive Pokemon that ever lived.
  *Like Rosso, he enjoys dancing, though is actually quite shy about it. Plenty of coaxing is needed before he'd participate.

• Name: Mura
• Species: Rattata
• Gender: Male
• Personality: An overly serious Pokemon, Mura seems to believe that fun is not a necessary thing. If someone is busy slacking off and playing when they should be doing something useful like training, Mura will continually bite them until they get to work. Not even Alex is safe from this treatment.

Skyfire the Charizard♀ (starter)

Personality: Ever hear the saying "never make a walking napalm generator angry?" If you haven't, just remember not to cross Skyfire. While for the most part she's reasonably kind, make her angry and you will learn first-hand what a roast Pidgey feels like.

Ability: Blaze

Standard Moves: Flamethrower, Air Slash, Smokescreen, Fire Spin

Gryphon the Staraptor♂

Personality: Hmph. Like Gryphon would ever bother talking to you. Seriously, don't even look at him. Just...ugh. You make him sick. >:|

Ability: Intimidate

Standard Moves: Brave Bird, Close Combat, Fly, Defog (but don't bring it up, he'll claw you)

Tara the Jumpluff♀

Personality: Tara views life as exactly what it is to her. A long, whirly, winding journey that is not particularly controllable. So naturally, why not have fun in the meantime? Tara is just as likely to play with you as she is to play a prank on you, but draws the line well before anything serious can be done.

Ability: Chlorophyll

Standard Moves: Leech Seed, Toxic, Synthesis, Sunny Day

Andromeda the Crobat♀

Personality: When life turns your legs into useless stubs and gives you extra wings, do some badass aerobatics! Andromeda has taken this principle, poisoned it into submission, and taken it for her own. Whether applied in travel or battle, Andromeda won't resist a chance to show off.

Ability: Inner Focus

Standard Moves: Cross Poison, U-turn, Aerial Ace, Confuse Ray

Atlantis the Dragonair♀

Personality: When your lifespan vastly exceeds that of everyone around you, you start to gain a little perspective. Atlantis is young for a Dratini-line mon, but she's starting to gain that perspective. Unfortunately, she has retained the feeling that her pearls of wisdom need be shared with all those around her, solicited or no. While she tends towards the insufferable as a result of this, in the end she'll usually come through.

Ability: Shed Skin

Standard Moves: Thunder Wave, Dragon Rush, Agility, Aqua Tail

Serrano the Litwick♂ (egg at start)

Personality: Surprise~

So I'm not fully sure whether I will be able to really do anything in this RP... But I suppose that it would be nice to at least reserve the ability to cameo on a slow day in WAAPT.

• Name: I'll be rolling with 'Tracer', though might change my mind between now and whenever my first appearance is.
• Gender: Square Enix Grade FeMale.
• Age: Your basic average age for a college student. So 18-22.
• Region of Origin: Lassoh Undecided. The important part is that he's in wherever the RP is set for the forseeable future.
• Personality: However you see me. I kinda have a habit of writing who I know.
• Bio: Your basic, average overworked undergrad student attempting to juggle Pokemon along with life. Specifically a Nutritional Toxicology major at Schrodinger U. A bit of a gamer, which rubs off a bit onto his mons.

The Mons - (Not Finalized, But Not Anticipating on Any Major Shakeups)

Some of these guys are imports from elsewhere, others are seeing their first major go as fictional characters.

Lyle

• Species: Quilava
• Gender: Male
• Bio: Tracer's starter from Lassoh Schrodinger's Region. Has been rolling around for the better part of a decade now. Someday, he'll turn into a burning wolverine, though his trainer hopes that it will be sometime after he gets out of college.
• Personality: Loyal and jovial, but a troublemaker. Won't pass up the chance to give some good-natured teasing to another mon and has some rather sticky paws. He'll apologize if his antics legitimately mess something up, but he's still got a long way to go before he's ready to be a role model for anyone.
• Take on Gaming: *not-so-subtly hiding behind back* "DS? What DS? I have no idea what you're talking about!" ^_^

Audrey

• Species: Lucario
• Gender: Female
• Bio: Tracer's empathic metal wolf... And resident self-appointed queen of games. Has immense potential for what we'd call "Special Attacks" and has been picking up pretty fast on perfecting them... "Physical Attacks" er... Well, psychic abilities are more practical anyways!
• Personality: Squishy wizard and proud of it. Had a phase when younger in which she was very sensitive about struggling with melee techniques, and won't hesitate to attempt thrash you if you're being exceptionally irritable about it. Has a limited tolerance for stupidity... Or frustrating things... Or you know, things that impatient entities have trouble tolerating, but all in all, well-meaning. Has a habit of psychic/empathic eavesdropping / alarm clockery to show off, which is the main reason why Tracer's able to parse anything beyond his mons' species names from their speech. She's a bit of a flirt around other Lucario, though hasn't been too serious about it... Yet.
• Take on Gaming: "Argh! I can't believe that I just missed the Infinity +1 Sword of Great Obscurity!" >_<

Kat

• Species: Marowak
• Gender: Female
• Bio: A mon that was recruited onto the team way back in the day. Joined as a duty to her group in the wild (which will be henceforth referred to as a "tribe") as a gatherer of lore from the world beyond. Occasionally drags Tracer back to Schrodinger's Region in order to pay a visit to her relatives, both in this life in the next.
• Personality: The resident team hot-head... And yet, the closest thing the team has to a Team Mom (Calypso would likely supplant her if she were a bit less intimidating in appearance). Is more than a little short-tempered and prefers to think with Bonemerangs, if you need someone on the team to babysit or a shoulder to cry on, she's probably your safest bet.
• Take on Gaming: "It's cool to learn about, I guess. I'd rather do that stuff myself than watch someone else do it for me on a screen, though."

Erich

• Species: Archen
• Gender: Male
• Bio: The result of Tracer's internship with Schrodinger's Fossil Laboratory, he's on the team as a test subject, though has become increasingly integrated into the fold. Someday Tracer will finish up the mountain of red tape and paperwork needed to formally make him his own.
• Personality: Curious about everything and Lyle's partner in crime for his antics. Doesn't really "get" many things about the modern world, like why you're supposed to let a mon get up and go home after defeating them, why that thin box plugged into the wall has people and Pokemon living in it, or why you can't put dishes into the "Washing" Machine. Can be a little cocky about being able to drop giant centipedes without really trying at times, but is generally a good sport.
• Take on Gaming: "Wait, so am I supposed to throw the machine? Or...? I'm not seeing it here..."

Teala

• Species: Druddigon
• Gender: Female
• Bio: A Druddigon of Dragonspiral Tower stock. Wound up joining the team during field work for a zoopsychology course.
• Personality: A bit of a klutz, which kinda led to a couple epic fails at the whole "patrolling this shrine to the gods" thing. She occasionally grapples with insecurities regarding her past there, though for the most part focuses on trying to find someplace where she "fits" and is the best like no one ever was. She's a lot more amiable than she looks.
• Take on Gaming: "Someday I'll be a hero... And not just in-game either!"

Calypso

• Species: Gyarados
• Gender: Female
• Bio: The main reason why Tracer's not in a rush to evolve his other mons, and a lesson to those who like early evolvers. Taking care of a massive sea serpent is already demanding, taking care of one in college even more so. Fortunately, she's helpful for class projects, and skipping ferry fares.
• Personality: Kindly, reserved... If with a perennial >:(face. Slow to anger, but when she does get angry, boy does she ever. Has more or less given up on all aspirations of babysitting, hearing young mons cry out of fear gets kinda old.
• Take on Gaming: "... I think that I just ate your GBA... Is that bad?" ._.

• Personality: A rather lazy kid who has no ambition concerning his Pokémon journey. Despite his laid back exterior, he will actually help out anyone he sees with a problem.
• Bio: Started out his Pokémon journey about a year ago, yet the fact that he only has two Pokémon with barely any battle experience should be a testament to his laziness. He's done absolutely nothing the past year except catch a Riolu and obtain a Pokétch.

• Name: Lily
• Species: Ralts
• Gender: Female
• Personality: A fun-loving and bubbly Pokémon who prefers to joke around and have fun rather than to do battle, unlike her partner, Leo. Loves to laugh and loves to make other people laugh, she usually gets along with everyone. Has a tendency to tease Leo, mainly because it's funny.
• Bio: Kevin's first Pokémon, she's been with Kevin for as long as she can remember. She's actually been enjoying the lazy past year. Except that battle with Leo. Man, that was horrible. Wears a green barette on her head.

A bit of a one-sided attraction on Lily, which is sad, since they're not even in the same egg-group.
• Bio: Kevin's first caught Pokémon, he's been with Kevin for a while now too. The only reason he was caught was because of a lucky Hypnosis hit. If not, Leo would have most likely wiped the floor with Lily. Was given a blue scarf to wear after capture.

Anyway, even though there's still a few things left to be decided, I'm gonna' post what I have of my own sign-up so far. Keep in mind, this is still a W.I.P and subject to change. But anyway, introducing...

Trainer:

Name: Luke
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Region of Origin: New Bark Town, Johto
Personality/Bio: A trainer from Johto who loves his Pokémon above all else. He has excellent battling skill, and managed to defeat all eight of the Johto gym leaders, allowing him to advance on to the Pokémon League...only to lose before he could face the champion. Feeling bad for his loss, and wanting to cheer his hard-working team up, he has decided to take them on a vacation to Unova for some well deserved R&R.
Pokémon:

Note: All of them are around Lv. 40.

Lake the Male Feraligatr

Luke's starter Pokémon, and the de-facto leader of the team. Contrary to his somewhat fierce appearance, Lake is perhaps one of the sweetest Feraligatr there is. Although cold-blooded, he's warm of heart and can't bear to see another person or Pokémon upset. That said, he is a fierce battler, and is generally considered to be the strongest out of all of Luke's Pokémon. However, he has recently lost faith in himself after losing against the Elite Four when it was all down to him, and hasn't been quite the same since...

Known Moves: Crunch, Ice Fang, Waterfall, Surf

Comet the Female Charizard

Hailing from the Charicific Valley in Johto, Comet is as typical a Charizard as you can get. That said, while she is fiery, hot-headed, and has a habit of running her mouth off, she is well meaning underneath it all, and shows great loyalty towards her friends and others of her kind. Being the only Pokémon on the team who can fly, she serves as Luke's flying mount when traveling. In battle, her most commonly used tactic is to use fire. Lots and lots of fire.

Known Moves: Flamethrower, Air Slash, Solarbeam, Fly

Wisp the Gengar

A Gengar caught early on in Luke's journey across Johto during a trip to the Sprout Tower at night. But while everyone was expecting this specter to be frightening, they were instead surprised to find that he prefered making other people and Pokémon laugh instead! Most often through downright terrible jokes, and making use of his ghostly form to make funny faces. While it often seems like he plays around in battle, it would be wrong to let your guard down, least you receive an unexpected Shadow Ball to the face. Then you won't be laughing.

Known Moves: Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Confuse Ray, Hypnosis

Woolly the Female Ampharos

Although she could be described as somewhat "quirky", Woolly's constantly bright and cheerful attitude never seems to fail to cheer anyone up (Although some find it somewhat annoying, but those are generally few and far between). Don't be fooled, though. Although she may be cute, she can be downright devastating in battle with her powerful Special Attacks. Those who let their guard down around her, do so at their own risk.

Known Moves: Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Cotton Guard, Thunderwave

Treeo the Male Sceptile

A native of the Hoenn region, Luke recived Treeo in a rather luck trade over the GTS. Although he felt out of place at first, due to being a foreigner, with help from the others, he soon managed to adapt to life in the Johto region. Personality wise, Treeo is quiet, laid back, and easygoing, if somewhat awkward at times. In battle, he relies on his supreme agility - often leaving his foes unable to hit him - and flurries of attacks from his arm-blades to down his opponents.

Known Moves: Leaf Blade, X-Scissor, False Swipe, Detect

The last Pokémon on Luke's team, who shortly before their trip to Unova, suffered a minor accident that necessitated a stay at the Pokémon Center for about a week or so. Will be retrieved Once I decide on my last Pokémon when fully recovered.

• Personality: Zack is generally friendly and outgoing, and willing to make friends with most people. However, he does have a temper, and often has poor judgement in various situations. He loves Dark types, and is also completely obsessed with the Unown.

• Gender: Female
• Personality: Zack's starter mon, Hex is mostly serious, somehow being able to put up with the rest of the nonsense on his team. She can sometimes be eccentric, although completely oblivious to it.

• Species: Sneasel
• Gender: Female
• Personality: Enthusiastic and playful, Cozen enjoys playing with mons as well as playing (usually) harmless pranks on them. She considers herself an evil genius, despite being mostly genuinely fun-loving and harmlessly cheerful.

• Species: Absol
• Gender Male
• Personality: Go away, please. You're bothering him by existing. While not downright evil, he can't believe everyone is as incompetent as they are. Someone should do something about you.

• Name: Deimos
• Species: Scraggy
• Gender: Male

So it is taking place in Unova?

Well...it hasn't really been decided on yet. In fact, that's something we should really sort out. Namely, what region this RP is going to start of in and what the plot will be.

My original plan, as mentioned before, was to have it take place in Unova, and perhaps do the Gym Challenge. But I am open to any alternatives, so feel free to suggest them.

Personality: Nice guy, bordering Extreme Doormat. Can be shy at times.
Bio: At age 3, his deadbeat father got kicked out of the house, leaving him with only his mom and his sister, Alli. Seven years later, his mom died due to an illness. Since then, he's been struggling to take care of himself and his sister, having only really had the time to start training his Pokemon within the past year. However, he does have a rough understanding of Monese, having learned with assistance from his mom's starter, a shiny Metagross named Pallad.

In the three years she waited, she became increasingly insecure, thinking nobody would ever take her. When things seemed to permanently headed downhill, Eskay finally came and accepted her.
