I just don't see what the current image illustrates at all. I don't think it works on either page.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, I forgot about the context. Basically, the opening to Pokemon Crystal implies a connection between pogeys Suicune and Unown. Said opening does so in a very Mind Screw-y way and also has no relation to the plot, comes out of nowhere and is never referenced in the game's proper storyline.
I hope that clarifies things a bit.

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!Doesn't change how it's no good as an image.
Fair enough then. At least, this time the new page image will be chosen the proper way.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you! What is that second pic supposed to be? The text in it is completely illegible.
EDIT: Clarification - I see that it's a SHMUP screen, but nothing else makes sense.

Yup. Then again, this is Mind Screw we're talking about. If the images overlap with Makes Just as Much Sense in Context, it'd be another matter entirely.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!Clarification - it's not that it doesn't make sense in a Mind Screwy way, it's that it doesn't make sense in a "no idea what all that crap on the screen is" way.
Suggestions are welcome.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!I'd say both pages should be blank until we find a workable image at all. As it is, it's a pull-quality image.
Check out my fanfiction!I agree with the pull.
Unfortunately I have no suggestions. The only examples I can think of probably wouldn't make good page images (Assassins Creed games, 999).
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.+1 to pull...no way to hunt suggestions right now, and probably not at all tonight. The Western Animation page is the only one aside from the main that has a pic, and it's an in-universe pic. I'd be fine with this page not having one.

About that one (sorry for the slightly off-topic post), I'm the one who came up with that, as well. It took me a while to make, but I'm glad it's still there and folks seem to like it. I'm serious.
Back on topic, a crowner should help if you ask me.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you! Both these images are bad. Pull 'em.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanJeez. Well, as I said before: suggestions are welcome! Further criteria as to which extent an image should or shouldn't be Mind Screw-y would help making the array of possible images a bit more narrow.
I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!Halleluiah, it's raining Soras!◊, maybe? I felt pretty mind screwed by it.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.That doesn't look very Mind Screw-y to me. People falling from sky isn't that unusual.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDoes the fact all those people are the same person help any?
Although, it might not be all that clear from that particular grab. I can see three fairly clearly wearing a similar outfit, but those ones in the background are too indistinct... not sure what can be done about that.

Moon◊No, because a) clones are common tech in fiction and b) I have no clue of the game.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman..."Clones" falling from the sky like rain isn't unusual. O.o What kind of fiction do you read?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.It's not unusual for a dream... Then again dreams often tend to fall under Mind Screw if you actually try to understand them...

Check out my fanfiction! There was a Cracked article that I saw a week or two ago about insane video games out of Japan...maybe we can get something from that.
EDIT: Some options:
- the third pic from Baby's Day Out
- From this article: Anything from the LSD Dream Emulator, Cubivore, or Eastern Mind
edited 16th Aug '12 3:54:00 PM by Willbyr
I was just going to suggest LSD, but Eastern Mind is probably more screwy.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.@ ccoa: thanks for chiming in and for your very good suggestion!
@ Everyone else: wait a minute, so my suggestions aren't valid because they're too mind screwy while ccoa's isn't because it's not mind screwy enough? I'm... puzzled... we should make up our minds. As I said before, an image needs to be a Mind Screw, which is, you know, the point behind this entire thread. The falling Soras are awesome to me (although pretty much anything from Kingdom Hearts 3 D is Mind Screw material if you ask me, especially endgame stuff), but then again, any kind of weird-even-in-context stuff works fine, so it's anyone's game.
Still, the KH suggestion gave me an even better idea: Snarl Of Memories. Just... two screenshots from it in the right order should suffice, really. Calling it right now.
[EDIT: alternatively... we suggest LSD without even mentioning Yume Nikki? Seriously?!]

I'm from Piedmont. No relation with Piedmon, mind you!No, your image simply doesn't invoke a Mind Screw from just the image itself.
(Or, dare I say, even in context.)
Hi there folks, resident annoying troper Alex Sora 89 here.
This one is partially my fault, so here's the story.
Basically, I first added an image to the then-imageless Video Games article, taken from the opening of Pokemon Crystal. Then stuff happened, and after a rant of mine on the Ask The Tropers page, I got suspended. To recap the reason behind said fact:
->> Fighteer: "Alex, these constant conversations we have with you in Ask The Tropers are getting tedious. You insist on questioning and nitpicking every aspect of wiki policy, from bans on Darth Wiki links, to Natter, to YMMV, etc., and it's just driving us up the wall. I get the impression that you are somehow incapable of grasping nuance, or have a mental condition that forces you to obsess over this stuff. Then you keep getting your own natter deleted from wiki articles, like DarthWiki.Ruined FOREVER, and misusing problematic potholes like Unfortunate Implications. At this point I'm really not sure that this wiki is a match for whatever it is that you want to do with it. I want to give you a opportunity to recognize why we're taking this step with you, but I'm very disinclined to let you resume editing." (reference)
After getting my suspension lifted, I found out that a troper changed the page image for Video Games with the following edit reason: "ENTRY PIMP FOR MY FAVORITE SHMUP". As I explained in a PM I sent to said troper right after finding out about it, I wasn't pissed because of the page image change per se, but because that was the exact same behavior that got me suspended. For some reason, his answer,◊ among other things, involved my ass (that, and somehow a Shameless Self-Promotion for his Youtube channel). Classy.
However, after a few months, I eventually found another imageless page where the former page image would find its new home: Video Games, as the Pokemon Crystal opening counts as a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment as well. After all the time that had passed, I've eventually grown to love the (admittedly kinda cool) pic from Hellsinker, but I didn't want the Crystal pic to get wasted like that. So I added the image, alongside a mini-rant as my edit reason. Shortly afterwards, I contacted ccoa about it and asked if my edit reason was too rude. Her response was:
->> "You can add a page image without going through Image Pickin', although it's encouraged that you do. However, the person who changed the image simply hadn't been caught. Don't take his lack of punishment as encouragement to do the same thing. I've reverted the edit he made and given him a warning."
Hence why we're here now. To recap the Wall of Text you've just gone through:
Sorry for the long read. Let's see what we can do.
[EDIT: for the sake of context, the two current candidates for Video Games are as shown below.]
