"Potholes like that violate the principle of not explaining the joke."
There is no such principle. If there's any principle, it's not making troper potholes, which still applies.
Now if there was a picture of an actual brick with a cape, being shot at and lifting up something big, then we would have a great image and a great visual pun. Otherwise, the Superman pic is awesome. Looking at it, I can hear the movie's Fanfare, so thumbs up.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I like the flying tank image, but I have a feeling we'll get an admin veto. :(
Hmm... do we have a trope for things flying when they are too heavy? If not, that would make a perfect image.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think we do, I believe it's got Mecha in the name or something.
Fight smart, not fair.Impossibly Graceful Giant is not what I described. That is about agility, not flying.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Not that one. Can't quite remember the name though. Something with aerodynamics in the name.
Blast, googling is turning up nothing.

Fight smart, not fair. So, anyway, do we have consensus, should we make a crowner, or wait another week?
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. We have Giant Flyer, forgot about that. And what I meant might be Too Rare To Trope.
I'm sure the current image can fit on some page.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Ok, but it should have a good caption I think, not just a gag, especially not a Comically Missing the Point one. Maybe something that draws attention to the Flying Brick power suite (Flight, Super-Strength, Super-Toughness, plus one "elective", hehe)?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I like the current. I don't know why everyone hates visual puns. I agree with Rodney's points on the issue.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.I think Superman carrying a tank is much more entertaining than a zero effort visual pun.
Elective isn't actually a requirement. That tends to be something like Combo Platter Powers or Flight, Strength, Heart.
Fight smart, not fair.I also hate Superman, almost as much as Batman, his even more ludicrously invincible and overpowered peer.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.Visual pun is funny. Dunno why it should change.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerBut the trope kind of makes characters overpowered by definition. And at least this focuses on the basics, not the ludicrous amounts of powers that many have given him over the years.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Oh, I know that. I was just making a semi off-topic remark about how much I hate DC's Big Two.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler.I find it... not so funny. And there are theoretically people out there who would benefit from a visual shorthand for a standard superhero type.
How about brick v. brick, with different origins? [1]◊

Doesn't show anything more than super strength at best.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Needs more Flying.
somethingThey are flying, unless you think Iron Man just shot up out of the water, while remaining dry.
I don't see any flying. They're just getting knocked around or jumping or something. That's why I like the image of Superman and the tank; it shows all the traits unambiguously.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Looks more like he just got knocked down somehow. Maybe he was flying before getting punched, but he looks like he's gonna fall in the water there.

somethingJumping on water? Seriously?
Laser vision is irrelevant to the trope. The tank picture hits all the necessary bits: (Flying, being shot at to no effect, lifting a tank)
I have a message from another time...
