Kamen Rider: General Thread

For some reason, I just think that the casts of Faiz, Gaim, and Fourze just "click" together so well in terms of personalities and the like.

What other interactions can you think of that could happen between the characters of those three shows?

More on SIC Gaim stuff, showing Pine, Ichigo and Jinba Arms.

Jinba Arms makes me somewhat regret buying Orange Arms. Look how elegant it is!

Man, I said this before but, if they ever do Kachidoki (and don't keep it as a Tamashii Web exclusive), I'll go nuts.

Jinba is seriously neat - the design on the actual show felt a little underwhelming but I'm liking the SIC version. Alas I still don't have the money to spend on importing figures but it's definitely cool.

Ichigo is nice too but the fruit feels a bit too downplayed.

Ex-Aid Level EPISODE 5.

Well, we probably should have seen that coming. the Black Ex-Aid is named Gemm. And he's the president of the Gemmu corporation.

Emu absolutely wrecks him in a fight when he achieves Level 3 himself, so we'll see how things go.

Alright, finally finished watching Amazons! I'm not sure if I should post a proper review later on, but this is what have to say:

Right off the bat, it's very good to see Toei making more adult-oriented tokusatsu. I really enjoyed The First (The Next, not so much, but still liked it) and wanted them to do something like that with other Showa Riders. My wish is becoming true, at last!

As for the protagonists, it's interesting to see how different Jin and Haruka are, and their dynamic is clearly one of the main selling points of the series. And, since this show can afford to be more cynical, you can have more morally ambiguous choices made by the characters: since Jin has a clearly well-defined set of principles (exterminate all Amazon, protect all humans), we see him defending murderers as well as innocents, and hunting Amazons who have directly slain humans as well as have been trying to avoid as much trouble as possible. Haruka, on the other hand, was unwillingly dragged into this conflict and, as such, has a lot of trouble defining what is he going to stand for, which makes him do short-sighted or even hypocritical things (example: he protects any Amazon he doesn't see actively hunting humans and deems them as innocent, even if they were eating humans who were murdered for that purpose. However, any Amazon who dares threaten the ones he loves will promptly find out how was it like to be a monster in the old good Amazon series). Sometimes, this can lead to situations where you may get really pissed off and I confess this is what happened to me sometimes.

However, I believe this is done exactly to drive home the point that, well, nobody there is fully guilty or innocent. In the end, people get called out and Haruka finally figures out what he really wants to stand for, so at least, this ends up leading to some interesting Character Development.

The human element was also pretty good. A Rider show is not just about the Riders, and the relationships of the Extermination Group members were a very welcome element. Their relative efficacy and ass-kicking, even more so. And there's Nozama Pharmacy higher-ups as well. Most people there just aim for profit or saving their hides, but you can see at least one particular case of well-meaning (then, again, people there do have second intentions...).

In the end, everything that was presented made me eager for the second season next year. I hope Toei keeps bringing this kind of content in the future and expand on that, because, there's still a lot of potential in there. :)

I wonder how the Fourze charcters would react to the cast of Amazons, since the original Amazon was a big part of the latter's Hyper Battle DVD.

Oh, thinking back to the whole Faiz/Gaim/Fourze crossover thing that I keep on coming back to, I wonder if Kusaka would be able to manipulate both Mitsuzane and Ryusei into becoming enemies to their friends again. Heck, I'd make it so that his spirit comes back and, seeing how Micchi and Ryusei have made good and the like with their friends over their past actions, would try to turn them against each other again, maybe by even possessing those two ala Den-O.

RX and Kabuto 44

RX:

• Bosgun: Now it's my turn to kill RX!

• Everyone else: Sure you will. :
• Bosgun: I'm totes gonna do it! And away I go!

• Dasmader: He's gonna botch it. Send in Grand Zarius

• And so Both Bosgun and Zarius move out to wreck some shit.

• Kotaro: Hey Sagara Family! I'm just gonna give you some shit at random for now reason! It's....not like I'm saying goodbye or anything......

• Papa Sahara: Son, this moment is so serious, Rob is gonna abstain from making any jokes. God Speed Kotaro.

• Kotaro: .....<Salutes Mama and Papa Sahara, then rides off to face his destiny>

• Mama Sahara: Damn, I'm gonna miss that guy......he had the nicest ass....

• Getting serious, Kotaro engages both Bosgun and Zarius in battle.

• Kotaro: Prepare to get laser shanked!

• Oh shit! Grand Zarius blocked the sword attack!

• Zarius: How long should this preparation take? I do have things to do you know.

• Kotaro: ......0_0

• And then, whupping ensues.

• Bosgun: And now, prepare to get....NORMAL SHANKED!

• Kotaro: Right. If anyone feels like helping me out here, I'm willing to accept it!

• Kamen Rider Ichigo: Y'all heard the man!

• The previous Ten Riders have arrived!

• Bosgun / Zarius: THERE ARE TEN MORE OF YOU ASSHOLES?

• Ichigo: Indeed. Y'all are fucked.

• With the help of his Ten Sempai, Kotaro escaped to fight another day.

• Ichigo: So you were Black, and now you're RX huh?

• Kotaro: Y'up. I'm both the 11 and 12 Rider!

• The Doctor: Hmm. That sounds interesting. I'm gonna try d'at shit one day.

• Bosgun comes a calling, trying to spring an ambush.

• Kyoko: I see....a lying punk ass bitch! <Reveals the goon hiding behind the boxes, while the other riders beat up more of them>

• Kotaro: Alright punk....lets dance!

• Bosgun: It's on now bitch!

• And thus....they rumble! But eventually....

• Bosgun: <Gets Revolcaned> Dammit! I wish I wasn't so weak to being stabbed by a Laser Sword! <Explodes>

• Kotaro: Man. It's nice to have some useful back up. <Joe, Reiko and Kyoko glare at him> Oh please! Y'all don't do shit!

• Meanwhile, with the Asshole Generals and Dasmader...

• Maribaron: Welp! T'was a nice invasion while it lasted!

• Dasmader: Don't worry about it! We still have Zarius, and he's the bomb!

• Jak: Do we even say that right now! I thought that was a 90's thing...

• Dasmader: No no no. He's THE Bomb! Literally! So if the Riders kill him, he nukes the fuck out of them!

• Ichigo: You're Revolcane can't pierce Zarius'! We need to come up with a plan, even if we have to hide for twenty years up his ass.

• Kotaro: .....Can we just go out and beat him up instead? That other idea sounds very unsanitary.

• <Zarius is going around wrecking shit>

• Ichigo: ....You know what? Yeah, lets just kick his face in! It's what we always end up doing anyway. Might as well stick to our best strategy!

• And so, our heroes go out to once again stomp evil's face! Awwww yeah!

Kabuto:

• Hiyori has decided to worm it up! Worm it up forever!

• Since I forgot his name, I'm calling him new dude again: Don't forget bitches! I'm still kicking everyone's ass!

• Kagami: Holy Shit! I just realized it! Hiyori does not want to worm it up! She's just pretending!

• Tendou: Then lets beat up new dude and then go get her! The solution to the problem isn't just to kick it harder, but to kick it harder at the same time!

• Kagami: Shut up and take my money!!!!

• But then Renge calls.

• Renge: Hiyori left the front door to the alternate dimension open.

• Tendou Right. I'm gonna go get her. Try Not to Die.

• Kagami: When you're Arata Kagami, you don't need to try to do anything. It just happens.

• So everybody goes to do their shit. Tsurugi fights against New Dude again

• Tsurugi: Body shield technique!!! <Shields Misaki from a beating>

• Misaki: Well shit! Guess you're cool enough to date now.

• Tsurugi: <While half dead> ..........

• Meanwhile The Bee returns!

• Kageyama: Float like a butterfly, Sting like DA BEEEEE!'''

• Kagami: Alright! It's time for Teamwork!

• Kageyama: Go fuck yourself! <Runs off on his own and both he and Kagami get pwned!>

• Finally, Tendou finds Hiyori again.

• Tendou: So....do you really want to be here?

• Hiyori: <While being Glomped by Evil Tendou> What makes you think I don't? <mouths OH SHIT OH SHIT GET ME OUT OF HERE! PLEASE GOD HELP!>

• Tendou: Just get on the bike! <Hiyori does so>

• Evil Tendou: Woman! If you leave, I will hunt you down, beat you up in Rider form and then swear vengeance on the planet!!!!!

Hiyori: Sorry! I can't hear you over the sound of ditching you like a punk! YEAAAAAAH!!!!

• So Tendou's back in the real world, which means it's time for....

• Kageyama: Ridaaaaah......JUMP! na na!

• Kagami / Tendou: RIDAAAAAAH......KICK! na na!

• And thus New dude gets pwned.....after a Maximum Rider Typhoon for extra emphasis. The day is saved.

• Hey look! Tendou has gone to meet Hiyori.....and is putting on his belt.....and his armour...and casting off.....

• <Tendou Whups Hiyori>

• .....I don't think that's our Tendou....

• Evil Tendou: Once again.....MAN OF MY WORD.

• New Dude: <Now two dudes> And we appreciate it. Time to wreck some shit!

I got up to Ex-aid a like whar I've seen. Heh every rider seems to be a jerk in some way. Part of me wonders who will die first.

Probably Genm, if only to establish a sort of Disc-One Final Boss.

At the very least, I do like that, in spite of all the color and the like, there does seem to be a good amount of grit in Ex-Aid's story.

Now if it'll be more like Faiz/Gaim is still up in the air.

So apparently the budget's gonna get blown before the new year.

Its going to be hard to dig further down. Any repaint of exaid has no way to go but up.

Where's episode 6? Is it just not up yet, or is it not airing until next week?

I do recall one tumblr post what said that there wouldn't be a episode last week due of Genm sports.

That would be correct. No new episode last week so go rewatch Wizard or something instead.

RX:

• RX: This new guy is so strong, I can't Revolcane him, he makes Robo-Rider his bitch, and even when all eleven Kamen Riders punch him at the same damn time, he just shrugs it off!

• Grand Zarius: Bitch! The only way yer stopping me is if you blow yourself up with me! ha ha ha haha!!!!

• RX: .....<Turns to his friends and Salutes> As friends go, you guys were.....passable.

• RX enters the body of Grand Zarius using the power of Bio Rider, and starts cutting him up from the inside.

• Zarius: Oh shit! I didn't think you'd actually do it!

• RX: You didn't expect the hero to do the heroic thing and sacrifice himself to save everyone else?

• Zarius: ......damn..... <blows up with Bio Rider inside him>

• 10 Riders, Kyoko, Reiko, and Joe: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

• Maribaron, Jak and Dasmader: CRISIS BITCHES! CRISIS! <start knocking back booze>

• Jak: Right. As great as this is, we got rid of one Rider and now have 10 other fuckers to deal with.

• Maribaron: My solution is demons from hell!

• Dasmader: Huh. It's different, I'll say that much.

• So Maribaron uses her powers (that were never used any other time before) to summon all the old monsters that Kotaro killed, only they never stop moving as long as they have some golden feathers on their bodies.

• The Ten Riders are in dire straights.

• Ichigo: Dude, what is this? How can we not be rider kicking these dudes into paste?

• Maribaron: Ha ha! As long as they don't have these feathers on their bodies, they can't be stopped. You fool Ichigo! As powerful as you are, you're only a guest star. Only the hero can save the day!

• Ten Riders: Curse you Maribaron!

• RX: So, I'm actually not dead. I totes used my Bio-Rider powers to escape.

• Maribaron: Oh....oh....

• RX steals the feathers and throws them on the monsters, stopping them, then goes after Maribaron.

• Maribaron: NOT IN THE FACE! NOT IN THE FACE!!!!

• <RX deliberately cuts her face>

• Maribaron: FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU FOREVER!

• RX: Heh. I've always wanted to cut someones face after telling me not to. And there ain't nothing she can do about it.

• Jak: Oh...did he cut your beautiful face Maribaron? <she nods> You don't cut someone's face. Time for this boy to get Jak'ed up!

So now General Jak is coming to do the job himself. Shit gets real next time on RX!

Kabuto:

• Hey! Misaki has finally decided to date Tsurugi!

• Kagami: ....should I say something? I feel like I should say something?

• The worms are attacking everybody, and Reiji is in like three or four places at once.

• The Hoppers are being jackasses as per usual.

• And the two love birds are getting ready for their date.

• Kagami: Maybe I should say something?

• Oh no! Reiji has attacked Tsurugi! And....

• <Tsurugi transforms right in front of Misaki>

• Kagami: Yeah. Should have said something.

• Misaki <while running away from the Scorpio-Worm / Tsurugi>: NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!!!!

So yeah. Good job telling nobody the truth there Kagami. That was a dumb move. Though I suppose he found it hard to see Tsurugi as an enemy.

RX:

• Jak: Emperor! Lend me power so I can fuck up RX!

• Emperor Crisis: ....Really? You're going to beat RX? That's what you think will happen?

• Jak: Sure, Why Not??

• Emperor Crisis: .....Bitch, I will beat some awesome into you. <Torture Jak until he becomes Jak Midora> If you fuck up this time, you better believe you're dead this time.

• So Jak goes off to attack some random humans...

• Papa Sahara: Phew! Good thing we're not random humans huh? <Jak shows up> AAAAWWWW HELL NAW!!!!

• Jak: So I'm guessing you can tell where this is going. <Starts strangling Mama and Papa Sahara>

• Mama Sahara: Shigeru! Take Hitomi and run as fast as you....<Shigeru is already gone, along with Hitomi> .....shit. That kids gonna be an Olympian someday....

• Unfortunately, the parents won't ever see that day, as they are booted out of the plot in the most effective manner possible.

• The other Riders show up. V3 and Riderman stay to fight Jak Midora while X and Amazon take the kids away.

• Needless to say, Kotaro ain't happy at the deaths of his Aunty and Uncle (cut to the last few seconds of the vid):

• Jak: We'll fight one on one. With our fists. Like men.

• Kotaro: We might fight like men, but you sir, WILL DIE LIKE A PUNK ASS BITCH!!!!

• So they rumble, and Jak Midora proves to be formidable. Kotaro brings out Robo Rider, and is doing well until he loses his gun.

• Shigeru / Hitomi: REVENGE!!!!! <Grab the Voltech Shooter and start shooting, but it does jack shit> Ah man!

• Fortunately, Kotaro bails them out (for the millionth time) and then switches to the series MVP Bio Rider.

• Kotaro: You can't cut water, but water can JAB IT'S SWORD IN YOUR EYE!

• So Jak loses an eye, and the Crisis Fortress does nothing to help him. Maribaron is not pleased.

• Maribaron: Dude. Not cool.

• And thus, like all villains in the series, Jak is revolcaned.

• Kotaro: So who's been jak'ed up now? WHO'S BEEN JAK'ED UP NOW PUNK?

And thus, the Sahara parents are dead. Shitty business for the brats, but hey. Sometimes Tyrants do horrible things to horrible people. Something we'll all be saying in this new Trump regime.

Kabuto:

• Alright. Time for some wackiness with Tsurugi. That will cheer me up.

• <Tsurugi is STILL the Scorpio Worm, and attacks Misaki>

• ....oh. Well, I'll be fine. If you recall I'm the stoniest of stone hearts. Nothing phases me.

• <Tsurugi is so psychologically shattered by the revelation that he's the worm who killed his sister that he has a Face–Heel Turn>

• Stoniest of Stone.

• <He fights the riders, but he's actually faking the whole thing, and is even wearing the bracelet Misaki got for him>

• ....stoniest of stone.....all the time....

• <And they are playing that same music they used in God Speed Love for when Hiyori died>

• Excuse me....there's some dirt in my eye...

• <And then that last scene....> Oh god! Stahp! Staaaahp!!!!

• Kamishiro Tsurugi is dead. He swore he'd destroy all worms....and he made no exceptions....not even for himself....

.....The funny thing is, I still didn't totally cry, but damned if that stone is a little chipped after this one.

So RX has one episode left, and Kabuto has three. After the next review, I'll watch double Kabuto to finish it. The exact opposite of my Black and Kiva review, where it was the Heisei show that ended early.

Damn! I forgot to watch the previous episode of Ex-Aid!

And the Level 3 form of Ex-Aid was really cool too me because I really love Super Robots

Anyway, onto episode 6.

I think that Hiro having a tragic bakstory is somewhat of a Captain Obvious Reveal considering he is a Rider based on RPG's.

I am not really the biggest fan of rythm games but the fight scenes with the Monster Of The Week were pretty entertaining to watch.

Watching episode 6, it's clear that Emu being both a gamer and a doctor will work in his favour.

Though Hiro came up with a good way to work around being only the latter. He just needed to keep the rhythm. They didn't say what rhythm.

There's no subs though. How are you watching the new episode already?
