No it doesn't.

Yeah it does. Nadeshiko is outright mentioned in the show proper and Gentarou is seen to still have that switch she left him.
Or do you mean that one crossover movie being canon doesn't mean the other movies are as well?
Yes I meant the second part. For the first part it would be "wasn't"
Fourze did draw connections to the previous shows and its movies. Every other show ignored the connections it had as well as the movies.
All three of those are great shows (well, Drive is a good show with moments of greatness), but I always recommend that every Rider fan watch Double.
This is why trying to sort out continuity doesn't work. You can't just declare "this movie is canon." It might be "this movie isn't canon but that scene is" or "this movie is canon for one rider but not the other (e.g. Movie Wars Core). OOO's Summer movie doesn't fit into OOO's continuity at all, but they still reference it in Megamax, which fits perfectly for Fourze. Is it canon? The answer is "the writers don't care and neither should you."
Basically a lot of things are Broad Strokes for the Kamen Riders. Which explains why Riderman NOW has his Machine Gun Arm from the mangas being a part of his canon arsenal.
Don't get me started on the pachinko games. Especially ones starring the Showa Riders; they could do a LOT of Crazy Awesome shit. Did you know that V3's scarfs apparently can turn into ethereal dragonfly wings and allows him to fly?
That's just from the latest pachinko game, Kamen Rider Full Throttle; starring the Showa Seven.
Say what you will about pachinko, but they do have cool ideas. Which irks me because they're not canon
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them. You could handwave most things about showa riders by saying that a lot has occurred off screen and they've been improving and growing more powerful since their series have ended.
True, but some of the things are rarely addressed. Like why Jin Kamen Rider X works as a doctor; when and how did he get a Ph D.?
Or Murasame Kamen Rider Zx being a pilot. Yes, he has the skill since the TV special, but what the hell has he been up to all these decades?
Still, there's always the MST3K Mantra. Say guys, I've been wondeirng about New Den-O; can the Mache Teddy double as a firearm? I think I remember it being capable of doing so, but it's been a while...
A stranger is like the shadows. It is so common to the world everyone will just ignore them.Well, I finally saw the final episode.
Not bad at all, now bring on Ghost.
Thanks Adannor!

One Strip! One Strip!Bring on Ghost indeed. So that I may have Shipping Fuel for Yurusen/Takeru
Kabuto 45
And now the caneguys are approaching Dark Kabuto. This can't end well.
...y'know, I kinda like both Soujis. I kind of wish Hiyori could've somehow had both onii-sans.
And now Tsurugi's eating out of Misaki's hand.
...son of a bitch, this episode is just... all over the friggin' place. It's a mess. I mean, we've got scenes of the various Riders working their asses off to not be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of Worm... juxtaposed with Tsurugi derping out in his potential relationship with Misaki.
Pick one, or the other - I don't care which!
...but when Tsurugi does get back to the battlefield, at least he's still in his usual epic form.
The screwy thing about the Hopper bros., at this point, is that Kageyama actually probably would try and help out... if they could get him away from Yaguruma for long enough. Which is really kind of messed up.
....truly, Tsurugi is the man who stands at the top of derping out.
...And now he's the man who stands at the top of being forced out of the closet.
_____
ep 46
Tsurugi is the man who stands at the top of being a tomato.
...DAMMIT TSURUGI
Of all the ways to take this plot development, you took the absolute WORST one!
....oh shit. He's going for Suicide by Tendou, isn't he. o.0
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT sometimes I hate being right.
We're in the final stretch, though!
Hrm... so now we're up to two members of the Senki Zesshō Symphogear cast voicing floaty mascot things across the SHT universe.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Damn it really pisses me off how Kiriko got damselled in 48.
Kiriko wasn't treated very well at all in the last few episodes really.
Yeah, not sure why she didn't just kick Okamura in the face.
Also I think it's a nice Book End that the final standoff took place in the same industrial location where Shinnosuke almost killed Hayase during the Global Freeze.

"Yup. That tasted purple."Yeah. I can sort of see someone like Magenta throw a shit fit at that and not over that whole Mai becoming the MacGuffin Girl thing.
Especially when they hype Kiriko up to be a badass. Thematically, though, it sort of fits and is the closure to Shinnosuke's character arc. Now the question is whether she did better than Rinko.
So does our new sarcastic floating eyeball take the prize for creepiest toku mascot character?
"Yup. That tasted purple."
FTFY
Place your bets whether it's going to QB on us!
Which would be ironic.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I admit, I was kinda annoyed at Kiriko being damseled like that.
I get that they wanted to give Shinn some closure, but......
I guess I should be shocked at mistreatment of females in Kamen Rider.
One Strip! One Strip!x6
Rinko only got kidnapped once though? Kiriko on the other hand has been kidnapped at minimum three times and probably more than that.
ep 47
...what the hell is this, a clip show? At this point in the game?! Oh, no, wait, Subverted Trope.
Still getting actual plot development.
...and now the public has some kind of actually-effective, proximity-based Worm detection system created by the Native.
CLOCK UP FINALLY MAKES ITS REAPPEARANC- Tendou, WTF!?
_____
ep 48
...oh. That must be why Tendou's been going around and stopping the Worm detection shipments.
...Negishi says he wants to make a truly peaceful world, and then casually walks across the remains of the Worm that just got killed. Something about that seems really... off. Ditto for the fact that Kagami apparently doesn't notice.
And now Kabuto's even come to the point of cutting down Natives that get in his way. ...which is kind of surprising, given what Hiyori is...
DAMNED MISHIMA!!!
o.0 WHAT THE-
The Worm detection necklaces... turn humans INTO Worm?!
DAMNED MISHIMA!!!
WTF
...poor Dark Tendou...
...eh, Tendou's not dead yet. There's still another episode left.
I'll tell ya who is dead, though! Kageyama! I'm surprisingly sad about it. He used to be a complete and utter tool, but he'd been getting cooler recently...
_______
EPISODE FINAL
SON
OF
A
BITCH
Dammit, now Kagami's down.
<cue BDH scene>
...and now Kagami's back up!
<epic battle is epic>
wot
<chuckle> "No. They're my words."
...aaaaaand cue a timeskip to the epilogue.
...I get the sentiment, Misaki, but reviving the Descabil family sounds remarkably... empty... without Tsurugi there. (even if he's a Worm)
Kagami appears to have become a normal street/traffic cop. Can't say that I disagree with that development.
...aaand Tendou is being Tendou. ...in Europe, somewhere.
_____
Well, I gotta say, this was a good show. However, there are a couple of things I'm not very happy with. The Red Shoes system, as mentioned before, only actually was implemented in its debut. After that, it would periodically be mentioned as a plot point, but it never actually triggered again.
And, of course, I'm kind of pissed that Tsurugi and Dark Tendou had to die. Tsurugi at least had a fitting end to his character arc, though I would have preferred to see him continue living in blissful ignorance about his real nature.
Dark Tendou, on the other hand... I'm really not satisfied with the send-off he got. Sure, he got a kickass (though brief) Out of the Inferno moment out of the deal... but then he just dragged Negishi kicking and screaming back into it, while telling Kabuto to keep protecting Earth?!
Dark Tendou should have given Negishi an epic Axe-Crazy Unstoppable Rage-fueled beatdown like in his early duels with Tendou, finished the bastard off with a Rider Kick! And if he still had to get killed off, then make it either a Mutual Kill, or Dark Kabuto gets fatally wounded and then delivers a One-Hit Kill counterattack as his Dying Moment of Awesome!
I want my Catharsis Factor, DAMMIT!
........anyway, come Monday, I'll prolly make a trip to the Windy City. Until then, gonna be hidin' out in the Amazon.
Sadly my W Driver is the only one I didn't bring to university with me.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Even if I had the cash, I probably wouldn't bother with The Merch.
Actually, once I finish Kabuto, I'll have done two Heisei-era shows in a row. Maybe do some Neo-Heisei instead...
What'll it be? Double? OOO? Or Drive?
