Mortal Wills, Mortal Hearts Interest/Sign Up Thread

First of all, this'll be my first time to potentially (or maybe someone else, who knows?) enter the GM world. I'm inspired by a talk with my peers in A Game of the Gods when we talked about the use of a RP game where players can use Badass-based characters. Well I thought that maybe it can work... But not all the characters I know in popular media are known to be badass as in physically IMO but in other stuff like being Badass bookworms and all. Well, we'll see how many people are interested later on and if they'll be interested for using popular media characters who are badass in their own way. And this was suppose to be a spin-off to AGOG. But considering things, I'll positively make this its own unless Locoman doesn't mind some partial ties with AGOG. As always, I was inspired by playing on the The Massive Multi Fandom RPG and A Game of Gods series with perhaps a dash of Grey Star's Tales of the Visitors, which is currently dead since last I checked, she ain't around.

Here goes...

For reference of that talk, start from here to 1127.

The multiverse. First coined by American philosopher and psychologist William James, it mentions on the hypothetical set of multiple possible universes (including the historical universe we consistently experience) that together comprises everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, and energy as well as the physical laws and constants that describe them.

It sounds intriguing doesn't it? But not entirely... An evil force has plans to conquer and rule all over the multiverses. No one knows who they are, but those who are familiar with the matter call them as The One... You're the chosen one who can resolve this crisis in these dark times, stranger. This is no game, my friend. This is a matter of life and death. You need to find clues in different multiverses to locate The One and stop him for good. Good luck.

Well that's the jist of it. Forum RP rules apply like no autohitting and godmodding.

Also, you need to choose someone's who 2 and below based on the Superweight chart. I'm pretty sure that some may ask on who qualifies for a Badass Normal-type character. Well I'll be lenient and include those who can fight on their own in places/worlds that is similar to our own via guns, gadgets, martial arts/unarmed combat, etc. along with this quote from the Badass Normal page to limit things.

So you can't use characters who have superpowers. Even when they got healing powers (Yeah, sorry about that...). Partially the challenge here is to use characters who have to survive with whatever they got, including their wits and their fists. Death can come to them at any time.

Certain exceptions will be made for characters who have non-combat/support abilities like Nick Fury's limited aging, the Assassin's Eagle Vision or Canaan's synethesia (Unless someone will argue against this...). As for anthropomorphic characters, they'll be allowed as long as they use Badass Normal-based tactics (e.g. SWAT Kats).

So you can choose anyone from fictional media from anime and from the various comics to live-action TV and movie series including novels and cartoons to video games. Heck, you can even use people from the Professional Wrestling World if you wish with wrestlers from the WCW and WWE to those from regional organizations like All Japan Pro Wrestling and Dragon Gate from Japan and New Zealand's Impact Pro Wrestling or maybe Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (Just saying!). They can be heroes, villains, anti-heroes/villains or those who are neutral.

For historical characters, it'll be on a case-by-case basis and it'll depend on the source material you draw the character from since most have been in fictional media before. Webcomic characters are also treated the same way as historical characters, except without the sourcing.

If you're using duo characters, just be sure that they are needed 'cause they are integral to the series/franchise's storyline and not cause you want to (e.g. T-Bone and Razor, Sam and Max, Salem and Rios, Murtagh and Riggs). In this case, they'll count as one character with two for the price of one. (coughcoughAkioandSakodacoughcough!)

Using one character from different universes is okay too as long as there are from different timelines. (e.g. Robin from Teen Titans plays alongside Robin from the Batman and Robin movie. Batman from the Christopher Nolan movies fights alongside Batman from the DC comics)

I forgot to mention the stuff regarding AFGNCAAPs. They'll be treated on a case-by-case basis. Best if you ask on this.

No original characters will be allowed. Even those meme-based characters.

If you wish to switch characters, then it's perfectly all right. Just do it after a mission or two yeah? And let everyone know about that before you do so in order to avoid confusion. Although it's best if you choose your character wisely. Depending on how things go, it may be okay for a player to play another character. Just let the GM know.

Since a lot of peeps are interested, I'll keep it open 'til next week Friday to see how things go.

Hmmm... Okay, I'm kinda interested, but the thing is, uh... See, I've kinda been on a Powerpuff Girls binge lately, and I've got the urge to play as Princess Morbucks, but... Well, I'm just wondering if I'd be allowed to use her if I downgraded her supersuit a bit so that its not at "fight evenly with the Powerpuffs" level.

Just asking to make sure before I go through with it, that's all. Better safe than sorry. >.>

• Abilities/Equipment: Incredibly, impossibly, disgustingly rich. Has a tendency to use said funds to purchase supersuits which magnify her durability and strength (however, as she is still a young girl of roughly 5 or 6, this simply puts her at the peak of human ability in both areas). The suits usually come with built in jetpacks (allowing for flight) and wrist mounted blasters.

Hmmm....

Does the ability to catch up to a car doing 80 mph on a bicycle, survive getting hit by said car, and then recover several days later with only minor injuries still count as Badass Normal? Among other things?
