Character Development Thread--Discussion

Hmm, which one is currently more active? The character I have in mind has a difficult time initiating things himself. He's much better at reacting to events.

Calling either thread "active" would be a lie. But Halloween's newer, so it's probably both faster-moving and easier to jump into.

Though it should also be noted that it's a casual thread.

In other words, if you're looking for combat and danger, you'd have to try initiating it in Worlds' Fair.

Danger and combat brings in an entire side of him I don't really plan to develop here. More like "if he wanders around, which one has more of a chance of him finding someone to talk to?".

Then Halloween should do it for you. There are lots of characters inside the castle at the moment, and two wandering around in a graveyard on the castle's grounds.

Not sure if I should reply or that I should wait for Darkblood beforehand? Either way I won't be able to post until tomorrow.

Alright, halloween it is. Anything I need to know before jumping in?

You should probably look at the trope page to get an idea of the feel and layout. As for where the characters are:

• Oswald and Krajn are outside in the Graveyard.
• Victoria and a big alien centipede thing are in the Entrance Hall.
• Priss, Kommissar, Harry and Nel are in the Ballroom.
• Henri and Jackson are in the dining room.
• Moreena, Michael, Dakota and Warren, and Nick, Marie, and Adam are all in the West Wing.

One more thing to add to nrjxll's above character list: Kaguya is in the Parlor.

I remembered her, but I didn't know if she was still active.

I did drop out for a while, but I decided to bring her back instead of introducing a new character when I rejoined. For now she's not doing much of anything, though if no one joins her for a while I'm thinking about sending her out into the dining room to join Henri and Jackson.

(I guess I could post in the ballroom, but like I said I kind of want to give Darkblood a chance to post before doing anything major there).

Also, one thing I should mention before I head in: distance and locations mean almost nothing to my character. He can appear almost anywhere he knows the location of in the blink of an eye. This is the only odd ability that he gets, hopefully. If that's not okay I'd like to know now.

I'm saying this because I'd like for him to appear right in the west wing, where everyone seems to be.

That's perfectly fine. In fact at least one character has arrived in a similar manner already.

I get that it was pathetically optimistic to hope we could average as many posts per day as there are posters in a thread, but with four characters in two threads you'd think I'd be able to post once a day for at least one of them. Sheesh.

On a somewhat less bitter note, while I've abandoned the list on my page as not worth the effort, I'm still trying to keep track of everyone in Fair. By my count the following characters are all currently unoccupied but still in the thread:

• Zhi
• Tamara
• Rufus
• Nagako

The following stalls are still active but don't have any guests there right now:

• Youkai Showcase
• Martian Dynamics
• Tsaadlo and Whittaker
• Nhesvrasila, Inc.
• House of Horrors

Can I get some confirmations that this is correct? Did any of these characters/stalls drop without it being mentioned, and have I missed anyone?

House of Horrors is currently closed, but not dropped. I'll mention when it re-opens.

Yeah, Rufus is still there, and while I'd like to bring him back in, I don't think I have the time just now. I've been very busy with my classes (which are wrapping up, but that's why it's more important than ever that I don't slack off), and with my laptop in shambles, I can't read/write as frequently.

If you want to have him drop out, I can always bring the cloaked figure back.

And I assume you noticed, but just in case - I'm waiting on you in Halloween.

No no, I'd rather leave him in. I've got an idea for what he'll be doing when he comes back, I just need to get on top of my work elsewhere before I can write for him in confidence.

And yeah, I'm aware. I've been trying to write a response all day between everything else, but every time I start, I get horribly drowsy and I have to do something else to wake myself up.

That's kind of alarming to hear.

I'll be posting later today, but right now I'm going to take a long nap because I didn't get any sleep last night and my mind's all over the place, so I'm pretty unorganized. Anyone willing to post an update whilel I'm out has my gratitude.

Nhesvrasila and Tsaadlo and Whittaker are both still active but don't have guests at the moment.

I just realized that I have three weeks of school left. Yay! That means exams in two weeks. Boo!
