That one is good. I particularly like

  • On a certain unnamed Image Board, a good way to start a flame war is to bring up the practice of circumcision. And if you think that's not enough, add in a preference for cut/uncut. Yay s'mores!

on the Other page, and

  1. Do you prefer Frances Ruffelle as Eponine? Yes? Then prepare for the Lea Salonga fangirls to rip you to shreds.
  2. Do you prefer Lea Salonga as Eponine? Yes? Then prepare for the Frances Ruffelle fangirls to tear you to pieces.
  3. Do you prefer Samantha Barks as Eponine? Yes? Then prepare for both sets of fangirls to turn on you and leave you splattered in a bloody mess all over the floor.

on the Theatre page under Les Mis.

Oh man, I love the Internet Backdraft pages. I binged on them a while back. It's funny what some people get all One True Scotsman and Fan Dumb over. Eggshells! Eggshells everywhere!

I'm a Humanitarian:

nterestingly, The Bible nowhere condemns cannibalism as a sin, though it does describe it as a punishment Israelites would suffer if they made God angry enough at them. As later events demonstrated, this was no idle threat.
  • It didn't need to condemn it specifically. Humans are omnivores, and thus not Kosher.
    • Does that mean that, since they don't eat meat, vegetarians are Kosher?
    • Humans do not chew their cud, nor do they have cloven hooves. They are not kosher. On the other hand, a case could be made that Minotaurs might be kosher.

This, from Twilight's considerable YMMV page:

* Don't even think naughty thoughts. Vampires will hear you. And... and... judge you!

And That's Terrible!

I laughed at Everythings Better With Princesses the first time I saw it.

It was also the first thing off of Tv T I ever read. Hmn. I wonder what that says about me.

From Trailers Always Spoil:

Many editions of Twilight mention in the blurb that Edward's a vampire, thereby robbing the first two hundred pages of any sense of mystery. Of course, if this hadn't been spoiled it would have been a pretty bad case of Genre Shift with a mystery romance novel suddenly including vampires. Imagine how that felt to the eight people in the world who didn't know about this beforehand.

* The back of Bridge to Terabithia spoils that Leslie dies.

  • So does the Newbery Medal on the cover.

LOL, Newbery Medal.

Most of the time, the SBIH pages are ones that I make an effort to avoid, because the examples tend to be depressing. The exception? The music section, because of stuff like this:

You Tube commenter: The best music, in my opinion, gives you this wonderful soaring feeling in your chest. This, however, manages to provoke the exact opposite effect. I now feel as if I have no soul. This music has made me feel like a simple meat-bag stuffed haphazardly with organs, incapable of turning off the horrid un-sound being pumped into his ears.

Some of the examples in the music section are funny and painful to watch at the same time.

From the Does This Remind You of Anything? page:

A trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 does it to add an emotional factor to an otherwise straightforwardly impressive fight scene. It shows Bishōnen Raiden and Depraved Bisexual Vamp locked in an elaborate, showy combat. As it reaches its climax, Vamp slides around behind Raiden, who promptly jams his own sword through his lower stomach, piercing them both. The two of them writhe against each other, Vamp behind and Raiden in front, both grunting in exertion and pain - Vamp even reaches around to grip the sword hilt, and furiously rubs his hand up and down its length, trying to free it. It comes free in a spurt of the white cybernetic blood that Raiden is using. Vamp and Raiden lean in from opposite sides of the screen, and their lips nearly meet as Vamp speaks the final words of the trailer, smiling wickedly. While subtle, the connotations of homosexual sex give a weird, taboo, strangely tender feel to what would otherwise look like a pointlessly flashy fight scene.

But that isn't what makes me laugh, someone added this under it.

Subtle!?

MGS definitely isn't subtle when it comes to homoerotic subtext, especially as the series goes on.

Kojima basically enjoys trolling his fanbase, especially since he's probably tired of Metal Gear at this point and keeps getting dragged back in (like Snake and Raiden! idea).

From the Idol Master character sheet, about the "silver haired princess", Takane:

Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane — She's most likely either from the moon or Germany.

If you really feel that you absolutely have to, you could treat Snake and Otacon in Metal Gear Solid as Heterosexual Life Partners. But you would still know, that you are just lying to yourself.

According to the ASPCA marijuana is toxic to horses (fatalities are rare but possible). Fortunately any horses who read this book will know to avoid it.
