Yeah, some of the dialogue is a bit awkward, but other than that it looks really good.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw."Imperial Poodle" sounds like the greatest thing ever. Probably because it's an apt description of my poodle, but still.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI can imagine a scenario in which the crates were actually filled with dog biscuits and Palpatine (for some reason, possibly going senile) having promoted his own pet poodle to a high position in the Empire (ala Caligula's horse).
Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaan... I think I found the Imperial Tumblr. This seriously needs to be a meme.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Saw the preview. Looks great. It seems to have everything it needs, classic blaster noises, stormtroopers that can't hit anything, a monster alien voiced by Steve Blum.
Anybody know if they'll put episodes on the net? Don't have cable.
The weird thing is that it also feels like a natural progression from Star Wars the Clone Wars (which is what I'd heard it's supposed to be but I was skeptical). The animation and character designs all fit and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I'll miss Ashoka though. She'd grown on me greatly.

I dunno, something felt off about the preview. The dialogue, maybe? Something about it felt stilted, though again I can't put my finger on exactly what.
Also, that kid is totally space-Aladdin.
Yeah, some of the dialogue seemed a bit off to me, too.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Another preview.
Yup, it's definitely leaning towards Kanera.
Begun, the Shipping War has.
Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanShipping Wars would exists if there were any other ships involving Kanan, which I don't think there are.
I've come to some more theories in regards to how Order 66 works.
According to that interview about the fate of the clones after ROTS, not all of them were brainwashed into carrying out the Order as that arc suggested (and contrary to what some people upset about the revelation of the bio-chip think, and yes, that was the "independence modification" Lama Su spoke of; he just wasn't telling the whole truth to his clients). Just the ones who refused to follow it at first (namely the ones that were really close to their generals; after all, I don't think they would have time to personally know all the lower-ranking troopers and usually focus on the commanders and elites).
Tup mentioned that they get the order in their dreams via subliminal messaging. Step 1, receive the order that tells them that the Jedi have betrayed the Republic via the inhibitor chip, and those chips may also be used for transmitting other contingency orders (after all, it would be a pain in the ass for Sidious to holo-call every clone trooper in the galaxy and say "Execute Order 66" to trigger their brainwashing). Step 2, if they mentally question the credibility of that order or if they refuse, the chip's brainwashing program kicks in. That would explain Tup's initial headaches before he killed Tiplar.
I think this is probably the best solution to go with. Only making it a contingency order that they could follow willingly doesn't really explain how they turned on them so suddenly (and to be honest, it only seems like more fuel for Karen Traviss's Jedi-hating agenda and suggests that most of the clones hated their generals to begin with). And the brainwashing isn't really as simplistic as the naysayers make it out to be. The obedience conditioning is still there, and the Jedi have only influenced some of the clones to think more independently; the brainwashing is just a failsafe). At the same, suggesting not all of them were brainwashed may or may not soften the blow that usually comes with retcons (after all, this is the online EU fanbase we're talking about, and this why I prefer fansites like Star Wars Underworld and Club Jade, and I actually kinda know some of the guys who run Club Jade from back when the old official Star Wars website forums were around).
Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanWas I the only one who thought the Mandalorian was Asohka in disguise? Or is that just stupid?
Seeing as I think we saw Sabine's face almost immediately upon announcement? Yes, you were probably the only one.
Not to mention that Ahsoka would be in her 30s by the time Rebels takes place.

We saw her face? Really? I don't - oh, the secind sneak peak.. -FACEPALM-
Admittedly, they do sound a bit similar and are roughly the same age in their own respective series, but not only are they clearly different species, they have different voice actresses.

Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanI agree something felt off about that trailer too. I asked my girlfriend who's studying animation to check it out and it seems something's weird with the animation. Both of us feel like nothing really has any weight on screen. Everything just feels light and without mass. Even in other CGI shows, things often feel like they're not just human bouncy balls but we seem to be getting that impression here. I'm not sure why though.
It may have something to do with the artstyle, which is explicitly based on Ralph McQuarrie's concept art. Something about making it look like one of his drawings come to life may be doing wonky things in the physics department.
According to Freddie Prinze Jr. (around the 34 minute mark), Greg Weisman will no longer be involved after the first season.
This also implies they're already expecting a second season, doesn't it?
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).The second preview was good (the droid's victory pose was a pretty nice character touch), but half the flight scene felt more like a shot-for-shot rip-off of the New Hope Death Star escape rather than a simple homage. And again, the context of the scene is that of a mere raid gone bad, instead of a genuine kill-or-be-killed fight. The Rebellion has often been accused of being a full-fledged terrorist group by those Rooting for the Empire, but by the looks of it, unless one of these crates turns out to contain River's little sister, the notion is about to be made canon.

Yeah, between the stilted dialogue, the weightless CGI (which, now that it's been pointed out to me, I can recognize as one of the things that was bugging me), and possibly the tonal problems that indiana mentioned, I think I've nailed down my problems with the preview.
Wasn't most of the Clone Wars production team working on this? I was kinda expecting something on that level of quality. Maybe the preview scenes will be more polished when they're actually aired?
I guess that means this'll probably get a third season, then.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatThat's a shame. I mean, Filoni is a good writer and showrunner and all, but Weisman is a great one, and I can see the show dip in quality a little after season one.
"You can run, but you can't hide from the Buzzinator!"The animation looks like it's... trying too hard to look Disneyish. Disney's animation style works because it generally just exagerates normal facial expressions so you can notice them better. It just seems off in this one. I'm no animator, so I can't exactly put my finger on it.
The characters also seem to be kind of generic, but generic doesn't mean bad. They can do good with it if they try.
Hopefully, though, they ain't done. Clone Wars took a season and a half to get really good, (though it was already pretty good, especially the episodes that featured clones.) so maybe this will be started from a higher point and will work it's way up to Clone Wars' awesome quickly, and then surpass it.
Oh my god. That's amazing! Can't wait for the full first episode when it comes out.
