Another superficially different buy-it-to-fit-in shooter is released every year, it seems. This shit is getting old. I don't want to be a part of the hatedom, but I'm waiting out for Battlefield 3.

I really didn't get the love for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It's still the snipers and SM Gs trolling people.

/plays both and thinks both are average FP Ses.

I loved BFBC 2, at least it had an element of tactics and teamwork. Great game. It could have been a bit less bland, though.

I admit, I was a ghillied recon hiding behind the rocks and spamming mortar strikes half of the time. Also, couldn't go wrong with an M2 CG.

Bah! You young'uns and yer classes and yer equippable gadgets and yer triselectable bonus system and yer story that looks compellin' on paper but doesn't make a lick o' sense when ya look deeper into it! Back in my day, you gave a man a clip of ammunition and he would retake Stalingrad! We didn't need no stinkin' classes! We picked us a gun, and we were expected to do all of our a-killin' with that gun! And we was damn proud of it! And it weren't the gun that made the man, I tells ya! The gun was an extension of your will to murder German folks! I don't know nothin' about this here "Op For", but they ain't got shit on the Nazis, boy; let me tell ya! That their General Shepherd fella wouldn't be fit to spit-shine Hitler's boots! My uncle was in Operation Pegasus! My grandpappy single handedly stormed Omaha Beach! My father blew up a dozen airfields behind enemy lines! My great uncle fist-fought German Kommandos while posing awkwardly and he looked sharp doing it! You're all goddamn Communists! I don't like you!

Awful snobbery in here.

I don't like it either.

Can I make a joke about how Sober Irishman would feel about modern shooters if they were drunk, or have you all heard that plenty?

I had more fun refreshing the page to see if I could stay synced to the countdown then I will with MW 3.

When is the last time Raven Software made anything good?

If they properly balance the fucking multiplayer this time then I may be interested. Plus by the look's of things they are following MW 2's plot. Smart move.

I'll be a bit more receptive as long as we don't have anything as ridiculous as "No Russian".

The rumor says "and will revisiting locations from the previous Modern Warfare titles"... Great, let's just recycle and retouch part of the older assets to make the game faster! Seriously, with all the ruckus a year ago, the timeframe available to have another MW ready to ship two years after the second episode must have been much smaller. There was also another rumor, not long ago, that Activision was hiring not only Raven [whom I fear they may now under strong control by them - I'd refuse to work with Acti again after they treated Wolfenstein and Singularity as annoyances that may distract from Co D] to aid what's left of Infinity Ward, but two more studios. If that's the case, the end result may be a game made of scraps of previous M Ws. But if people is still content to make them break records at every yearly release...

I think the only thing left is Space Warfare then call the whole thing a warp.

I see what you did there.

Me, I wonder what will happen when Activision finally burns out the Co D franchise. I mean, yes, its really popular, but at the rate they pump out new games, eventually, it will falter. Especially if tastes shift and a different style of FPS comes back into vogue.

My idea would be going back to World War II and letting you play soldiers from countries other than the US, UK and Soviet Union such as Free French Forces or China.

^ I once had a World War II video game idea only you play as a soldier of the Wehrmacht from 1939-1941. Where does this soldier go at the end of the campaign? Stalingrad.
