If it is supposed to have a sci-fi feel, Soundwave Modulated Projector, and people could make it easier to speak by ommiting the "modulated" or using "SMP"... although that acronym is used by other things too.
... ... Maybe "So MP" if sounding silly doesn't matter? Although that may also be in use.

"The dried flowers are so beautiful, and it applies to all things living and dead."x4 It's good, but a little common(?). Like it sounds interesting, but it feels like most people would name that sort of character that name.
Note to self: Pick less edgy username next time. How about The Ventriloquist. Refers both to the puppet master nature of her abilities and, because of her mouth being wired shut, she could be mute herself but use her ability to 'throw her voice' into other's mouths.
I need names for two things in one of my worlds.
First, technorganic beasts created by nanite virus. They look like animals with naturally integrated machinery and weapons, and can eat technology and convert it to mass so the oldest surviving ones are kaiju sized.
Second, a human warrior class who bonds with one of said beasts for the power to defend his city from others. The bond gives an equal trade in which the human becomes more like the beast and can draw upon a partial form of its abilities while the beast gains an intelligence boost typically leaving it as smart as a trained dolphin. There is also a mental bond, but it doesn't force loyalty in the beast and there's a story in universe about a warrior who bonded himself with a giant sleeping dragon; he basically lojacked himself to an insanely powerful insanely smart predator now out for him. For this reason, they typically connect to younglings and train them into fiercely loyal partners.
Yeah, it's basically a dark fantasy version of pokemon. Humanity only lives on crescent shaped sliver of the continent and a small island chain because the rest is savage wilderness and the reason for 'trainers' is to defend their towns against the wild ones.
I like that name. It's actually fitting because she talks with her mind.
Note to self: Pick less edgy username next time.I still need that character name, guys. I need something that's right at the junction of dorky and cool/memorable.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?How about something old fashioned that's hipster now like Marylyn or Bobbie? Or Phyllis... that's my grandma's name : ) you could turn it into Philly too.
Creator of Heroes of Thantopolis: http://heroesofthantopolis.com/For the junction of dorky and memorable (or at least unusual): I can offer
- Hanneliese
- Marigold
- Maresi
- Augusta
- Margund
- Gerhild
- Amestri
- Tamemit
- Namirti
Still hoping for feedback on this question.
On a different note, I need at least one epithet for a mythical figure that is revered by the vrakmyrrhs as a mother goddess-like figure that is the primogenitor of the race, who is typically described as an Mother of a Thousand Young-style Eldritch Abomination version of a vrakmyrrh female. Something of the same sort as "She Who Thirsts" for Warhammer 40,000's Slaanesh, or "The Dark Mother" for the many-named progenitor of the title characters of Beast: The Primordial. If it helps, the most outstanding traits that this figure embodies are "predation", "murder", "motherhood", and "cruelty".

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.... They're not a Proud Scholar Race, you know.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Mother Empress or Mother Imperitor.
Deliberate Values Dissonance is a thing. She taught them how to be strong and they seek to emulate her qualities, qualities which other species certainly wouldn't associate with her name but they would.
"The dried flowers are so beautiful, and it applies to all things living and dead."... Sorry, but I'm afraid I'll have to nix that one too.
Well, that's good enough of an argument to at least include it among her many titles, but I'm still looking for much more obviously intimidating epithets. Besides, to the vrakmyrrhs this figure is a mother first and a teacher second; furthemore, they actually revel in the fact that their species is one of peerless predators that stands at the top of the food chain, and as such earned the right to do whatever they want to lesser races (that's not to say that they're incapable of treating said lesser races with anything other than malice; the commensal or even mutualistic symbiosis they have with some of those races is proof of that).
To give an example of what I'm looking for, last night I had come up with a rough translation of this progenitor figure's primary epithet (nobody could claim to surely know what her actual personal name was): "Great All-Mother of Blood-Drenched Websnote ; She Who Plunders All and Begets Countless Offspringnote ".

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Okay now I have a question. I'm looking for a Japanese/romanji name that looks like it could fit a Phantom Thief, the Joker card, hearts (except Kokoro) or any of the three (I got persona 5 so Hello, [Insert Name Here] applies.). Any ideas?

Man, I was afraid that I somehow killed off the thread with my last post.
... How does "vrakmyrrhine" look as a derived adjective from "vrakmyrrh"? I've contemplated "vrakmyrrhic" and "vrakmyrrhan", but "vrakmyrrhine" looked and sounded better IMO. The suffix "-ish" is another alternative, though I'm thinking of limiting to mean "similar to or typical of vrakmyrrhs" (e.g. "vrakmyrrhish aggression") while making "vrakmyrrhine" the go-to adjective for "of or pertaining to vrakmyrrhs" (e.g. "vrakmyrrhine physiology").
In Japanese name order, "Umitou Shou" (male) or "Umitou Emi" (female), both written with the same kanji (海東 笑). And yes, "Umitou" seems to be a pre-existing Japanese surname.
海東 literally means "sea-east", and can be alternatively read as "Kaidou", which is a near-homophone of 怪盗 (Kaitou, "phantom thief") that is only separated by the presence of a dakuten on the second kanji's initial syllable (tou —> dou).
笑 means "to laugh" as a verb, "laughter" as a noun, and "amusing" as an adjective, with a host of other meanings of similar nature. It can be read as either emu (verb), emi (nanori), or shou (on'yomi).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Thanks I'm going with Umitou Shou (or rather Shou Umitou because I;m assuming the game would want it imputed in western order to count)
Okay, for my story Maranatha, the Kuda (Theriomorph form of knighthood) holds a hierarchy of Theriomorph Kuda rank , but I need some alternate names for the titles:
- Hierophant: Leader of the Kuda organization.
- General: High ranking commanders and strategists
- Centurion: Arms-bearer or commander of the Kuda Legionaries.
- Cavalry: Theriomorphs mounted on horses and vehicles
- Millitan: Infantry composed of lower ranked Theriomorphs which many are Espada (Swordsmen), Penembak (Gunners) and Artillier (Artillery)
- Squire: A young novice or in-training Kuda Theriomorph.

Up in Useful Notes/ParaguayWhat kind of symbolism are you (read: the Kuda) looking for in the names? Also, if you could give us some small descriptions of the Kuda ideology and the society they find themselves in, it'd help get in their mindset to suggest better names.
I gotta say, this sounds a little weird. Not too weird, tho. I can see it.
You know, knights and soldiers of the Maranathan Empire.
Up in Useful Notes/ParaguayWhat's a good name for a female hacker vigilante/hero?
Author.Hmm... Hackers tend to be non-combat roles, so I'm operating under the assumption she's probably either a Cat Burglar/Information Broker type, or Mission Control?
Maybe something bird-related, as in "A little birdie told me"? Birdie could work itself, depending on her character. Or Owl, or Simorgh, to play up the knowledge/wisdom elements?
Birthright: an original web novel about Dragons, the Burdens of Leadership, and Mangoes.I;d say Sombra but that runs into copyright issues as well as potentiality failing the "hero" requirement
EDIT: 'd
I propose Cipher, Codebreaker or something completely unrelated to hacking (For example, a hacker collective in Persona 5 exists called Medjed, and the same game as well as the DC universe has a hacker code-named Oracle. Suggestions that could work in this vein would be Messenger gods like Iris or Mercury, or gods/beasts associated with knowledge like Thoth, Athena or the aforementioned Simorgh). Of course it might help if you are to explain the personality or role of the character.

I said hero, which Sombra certainly isn't. Thanks for the suggestions, though.
Anyways, she's part of a vigilante hero organization called the Mavericks, which stands as the opposite of the international task force known as the Protectors. They basically operate without legal jurisdiction, as they hated the restrictions the Protectors had to face. She's a mobile hacker who is part of the reason why the Mavericks are able to remain on top of things. Funny thing is, she's not the only hacker in the story, as there is another male hacker/vigilante known as The Mouse who takes part in more criminal activity, but is kind of an anti-hero/villain depending on the situation.

Author.I made some more suggestions in the post above, going off the Mythical tangent if you're interested.
Why not "records" then?
