No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

Yeah, Tome of Excess seems to take that stance, with the emphasis that "sensation" isn't limited to the physical; cited examples include "[t]he joy a parent feels when a child is born, the pride a commodore feels when his fleet executes a cunning battle plan, the stirring of a lover’s heart when in the embrace of a paramour, the heady rush of relief that reminds a soldier how good it feels to be alive after an unexpected skirmish", none of which is actually physical.
Obsession with improving sonic weaponry... Perhaps. Maybe the Techpriest reawakened a long-dormant pleasure center in his brain somehow, and had a moment of lucidly insane epiphany?
Hmmm... That could be possible, with a dash of obsession with the aesthetic perfection of his creations (according to whatever warped standards of "aesthetics" the Techpriest follows, that is).
Man, seems Slaanesh is hated by his three brothers even more than any of them hate the other two.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.@ Marq: Keep in mind Slaanesh is also the god/dess of perfectionism. That's often sidetracked by everything else about zer, but there's a reason Fulgrim fell to the Dark Prince beyond that Daemon Weapon.
A Heretek in zer service could come off as a more energetic version of Three from Video Game/Drakengard3, an obsessive, aloof craftsman who comes off as a lot more restrained than he actually is because he's that obsessed with making everything just so.
What rises must fall, what falls may rise again. Can someone who's more familiar with Eldar specifics check over the changes to Fragile Speedster and the addition of Glass Cannon I made on their character page and touch them up if needed? Thanks!

It seems correct to me, would it perhaps be worth mentioning that wraith units are quite tough though? Sorry!
No, mentioning them as an aversion would be fine.
@Marq re: Slaaneshi Heretek
Slaanesh is the god of excess. Any time when perfect becomes the enemy of "good enough" and someone chooses perfection, that's leaning towards excess. The Ad Mech in general have a large problem with exactly that when it comes to recovered tech or tech in general.
Nous restons ici. This heretek might be all about "improving" his senses, adding entirely new ones, and even cross-wiring existing ones so he can perceive far outside the normal human spectra. He'd vivisect various xenos and mutants to examine how their senses work and then transplant them into himself.

This post was thumped by the Shillelagh of Whackingness
I've been going through some of my early nineties White Dwarfs lately (I've finally got my scanner working and am looking for artwork that I can't for the life of me find online) and I used to think the prices then were expensive: £12.99 for ten metal Blood Claws with plastic arms and weapons; £1 for each all metal hobgoblin model; £24.99 for a boxed game.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellGood grief.
You are dazzled by my array of very legal documents.Sanguinius is described as resembling "all" of the Emperor, unlike his brothers who each represents only one trait from their father, right? So... Where's the tech-savviness, then? All of the Blood Angels' known relics were either created after his time, or were given to him by his father (and in turn either eventually given to a specific Blood Angel during the Crusade, or became part of his legacy to his "sons" after his death).

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Presumably he just wasn't interested in technology.
I need a new sig.Nevermind on the massive price increase...I didn't realize that the website had defaulted me to Australia prices with this last update they did; I switched over to USA delivery and everything is back to normal levels of absurdity. *whew*
My lightning claw assault Terminator squad is almost finished...still need to do a couple more things with the bases and varnish them.

What if Horus was really the hero, and the Emperor of Mankind the villain? A different, very chilling take on the WH40K setting.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. So basically the premise of Black Crusade... A fun read regardless.
Except that Horus never sided with Chaos. It was the Emperor who callously used Horus as an unwitting lab rat in how to destroy Chaos, and unintentionally almost killed him with an unforseen Chaos infection. Then he afflicted Horus's collaborators with Chaos as punishment for their betrayal, as well as to provide "proof" to his loyalists of their evil.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I've always been an advocate of the view that the Emperor handled the Primarchs with the grace and finesse of Peter Griffin.
Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.That is not in doubt, though such a view is not mutually exclusive with the possibility that he did all of this purposefully because he had looked through all the possible futures, and of them all this path was somehow the best case scenario among all feasible options in his hands. I mean, in the Horus Heresy novels there is even an exchange between him and the Astropath Kai Zulane during the Horus Heresy, where he admits that he knows he will die by the end of this pivotal event.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Finished the first assault Terminator squad...probably not gonna start the next squad until next week, we're gonna have company staying with us over the weekend.
News! I'm oddly enraged, but can't put my finger on it as to why.

Oh good.

We had a Slaaneshi heretec in our Black Crusade game. He was mostly interested in two things: making outlandish and exotic weapons, and using cybernetics to alter people into more artistically pleasing form. He made some really nice bionics for the rest of the party, but also had a habit of turning unfortunate captives into living art projects.
