- Awesome Moments: At least Manny and Kelly demonstrated that they didn't ignore the signs of developing and eventually flourishing romance between them (which everybody else could see) and began to openly demonstrate their romantic interest in each other. Phew!
- Fandom Rivalry: With Bob the Builder, but usually as a joke. Even Robot Chicken is in on it, doing a sketch where Bob has Manny deported back to Mexico because Bob is a stand-in for Donald Trump who views Manny being a natural-born citizen as a problem and wants the monopoly on all contractor work, starting with building a new migrant detention center.
- Older Than the Demographic: The titular character is a grown man who is the protagonist of a preschool cartoon.
- Nausea Fuel: In "Breakfast of Champions", the tools cooked breakfast, and believe it or not, Manny and the tools were actually eating it. Besides, it's considered contaminated.
- Self-Fanservice: A lot of fan artists make Manny attractive in their art. They also humanize the tools and make them attractive (except for the younger ones like Squeeze, Flicker, and Stretch).
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: While it's normally a light-hearted preschool cartoon, the episode "Felipe's New Job" had Felipe the screwdriver try to commit suicide, saying that Manny could melt him down and use him for scrap metal. We couldn't make this stuff up if we tried.
