Milo Answers is a character blog based on What Happens Next, under the url glitterytoycakes. It takes place in an alternate continuity, where Milo Holliday's actions differ from the events of the comic and he takes responsibility for his involvement in the murder of Haylie Goreski, confronting his past as well as the individuals involved in the process.
It was created by Requiesticat in 2022. The blog is modeled off the tumblr Milo owns In-Universe and has elements of roleplay but counts more as an ask blog, with characters answering questions sent by readers.
Certain entries have been made into animated episodes:
Tropes
- Alternate Continuity: According to the creator, Milo Answers is meant to take place directly after Milo moves in with Gage, but involves a differing storyline.
- Found Footage: While the first episode (No Surprises) was more sorrowful in tone, Something Different has elements of this trope, right down to the shaky camera footage. It appears to be delving into psychological horror as a result.
- Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: Characters respond to questions sent in by users. Whether more of the comic's cast will appear remains to be seen.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After strange occurances begin happening, Milo expresses frustration and doubt, saying that using his blog- one of the things that relieves stress in his life as well as brings him joy- isn't working anymore.
- Shout-Out:
- Gage owns a sleeveless t-shirt with a Killing Stalking logo on it.
- Apparently, Milo "kins" Starlight Glimmer and Pinkie Pie, Basil, Raggedy Ann, and Wally.
- This post appears to be a reference to the creepypasta "My dead girlfriend keeps messaging me on facebook".
- Another post references the real life Allenheads murders, as well as William Afton's tape recording from FNAF VHS.
- Episode two has one to the Blair Witch Project during the prayer scene.
- Tender Tears: Milo sheds these after receiving questions from readers concerned about his well-being.
- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: Combined with a mail slot, the blog directly addresses the reader at times, but there are posts Milo claims he didn't make.
- The culprit might be Haylie- after some videos are uploaded, Milo theorizes that her ghost is haunting Gage's apartment, and asks what he can do to assist her.
Milo: "The other day, after I went on that trip to the woods… I found some weird files on my laptop. Plus another post I never made. I... think these are from her. Haylie, if you're here, I... I'm sorry. How can I help you and Savannah move on? After what Griffin did to both of you... it's... are you angry at me? Tired of being stuck in this building? Please. Just give me a sign." - Visible Silence: The first entry tagged with "#Freezing" is written from the point of view of... someone, including three vertical dots above a monologue. One of the tags is "#Haylie Goreski."
- Wham Line: The second "#Freezing" entry has this:
- Griffin Petty: "...Claire's next."
