The season 6 Rewrite 2023 Poster
This is a series of rewrites of seasons 5-8 of Winx Club created by the YouTuber Unicorn of War (Or Thomas Vaccaro). On June 5th 2020 the first part of the Season 5 rewrite was released with the second part coming out on September 16th later that year. The season 6 rewrite is releasing in individual episodes, and the first episode released on December 27th, 2022.
    open/close all folders
    General
  • Abusive Parents: Tecna's parents are this in both rewrites. In season 5, they are established to be very cold and dismissive, not only to the other Winx but also Tecna, their own daughter. Season 6 later expands on this by explaining how Tecna was always taught by her parents that rationality reigns supreme and that Zenith runs by not being controlled by "trivial emotions". It then expands on this further by introducing Snow Ball, a stuffed toy dog that Tecna had, and how they wouldn't even allow her to have a simple toy.
  • Darker and Edgier: This rewrite has largely the same tone as the first four seasons. In comparison to Seasons 5-8 in the official canon, which were Lighter and Softer, this rewrite carries a more mature, suspenseful tone.
    • Unlike the official series, which attempted to subtly keep the Winx as teens and in Alfea in an attempt to keep them together, the Winx (minus Roxy, the youngest of them) are all explicitly adults in their 20s.
    • Character-wise, the Winx's flaws and personal struggles become more emphasized, in particular, via the Sirenix Quest, for more adult situations.
      • Aisha's Nightmare Sequence of seeing Nabu blaming her for his death is expanded upon here, her now seeing the Fairy Hunters, who caused Nabu's death, ripping off her friend's wings and Nabu imploring Aisha to kill them.
      • The return to Melody sees Musa's home destroyed, and with it, all of her mother's notes, music sheets, and research, which breaks Musa's heart to the point where she's cursed into a monster.
      • For Stella, in addition to dealing with her trauma regarding her parents' divorce as in canon, she also comes to learn of Selenia, the Kingdom of the Moon on Solaria, which was destroyed ages ago, with heavy implications of Written by the Winners involved.
      • Tecna has to deal with her family issues in both the season 5 and 6 rewrites.
    • Season 6 places a direct focus on Bloom's flaws and insecurities, with her fear of losing her friends and her desperation to help them leading her to convince Lockette and Piff to enter Stella's dreams, only hurting her friend even worse and severely straining her relationship with the other Winx.
    • Season 6 directly introduces LGBT elements into the narrative, with Lucy and Mirta becoming an established engaged couple, and Bloom and Stella being implied to be developing feelings for each other.
    • The Season 6 rewrite's 5th and 6th episodes deal with the topic of miscarriage, and the pain and sadness it caused for Flora's family, particularly her mother.
    • Episodes 13 and 14 deal with the conquest of Selenia by the Kingdom of Solaria, revealing how the Solarian dynasty has worked to erase Selenian history and culture from their world, and deals with Stella's own guilt in realizing how her heritage is connected to it.
      • It also subtly touches on discrimination, particularly with Narcissa, the Fairy of Mirrors. As Stella discovers, Narcissa was a Selenian and possessed lunar magic like her, causing her to be denounced as monstrous in Solarian history. Combined with the above, it implies that the Selenian people may have actually been discriminated against after Theia conquered them.

    Season 5 Rewrite
  • Adaptational Nice Girl: Diaspro is this in the season 5 rewrite. Unlike her canon counterpart, she gets redeemed in this rewrite, apologizing to Bloom for what she's done and even admitting her love for Sky was one-sided in the letter she sent to Bloom.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Downplayed, though Tecna's parents are much more colder and dismissive than their original versions in season 6.
    • Krystal is also much meaner in this rewrite.
  • Adapted Out:
    • Due to its existence relying on an Ass Pull in the original version, the transformation Harmonix has been removed from this rewrite. Instead, the transformation Sirenix is essentially combined with Harmonix here, the design of Harmonix being used with the spells from both it and Sirenix.
    • There are also some episodes and plotlines from the original version that have been removed in this rewrite, such as the tenth episode "A Winx Christmas" for example.
    • The original appearance for the Devourer was replaced with the creature that appeared in the premiere for Season 6.
  • Big Bad: The Ancestral Witches for the first half; after they die in Episode 14 Politea takes over.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Winx manage to save the Magic Dimension and Infinite Ocean, albeit at the cost of their Sirenix powers, and Bloom even uses her wish from the Leviathan to restore Nabu to life, allowing Aisha to reunite with him. Sky is saved as well, but his memory is still fractured for good, and in the end, he and Bloom decide to break up for good, though they still acknowledge that they'll always have a bond. Meanwhile, Daphne is freed, but with the Sirenix Source returned to the Infinite Ocean, Daphne's purpose is fulfilled, allowing her to ascend to the afterlife, and she is given a tearful farewell by all her family. Finally, with Daphne now gone, a certain vault in Magix City's Museum of Magic opens, allowing Venomya A.K.A. Selina to slip in and steal the Legendarium.
  • De-power: The Leviathan does this to both the Winx and the Trix in the finale, stripping both groups of their Sirenix powers.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Erendor sacrafices himself in Episode 14
  • Wedding Episode: Episode 23 titled "Of Noble Blood".
  • Sea Monster: The Devourer.
  • Sequel Hook: The rewrite ends with Venomya stealing a book called The Legendarium from the museum of magic, and revealing herself to be Selina, vowing revenge on Bloom as it begins to rain and thunder.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: It's established early in the season that Nabu didn't die after his Heroic Sacrifice in Season 4. Instead, as alluded to in Morgana's "until he wakes up" comment, he's in a magical coma. Bloom uses her wish to wake Nabu up.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Venomya/Selina makes quite a few of these.
    • In episode 15, "The Emperor's Throne", she says that Bloom has always been arrogant, always making things about her and that she will get a wake-up call.
    • in episode 23, "Of Noble Blood", she makes a story about the wedding and makes slanderous commentary on Bloom, Sky, and the rest of the Winx.
  • Time Skip: Episode 23, "Of Noble Blood", takes place two months after the events of the previous episode. During those two months, the Winx have been preparing for Bloom and Sky's wedding.
  • Tragic Villain: Politea. While she ultimately caused her own ruin, it's also made very clear that the Ancestral Witches machinations played a massive role in her downfall as well.
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: The Breath of the Ocean, in the rewrite, is this. It is described as being forged by combining the opposing powers of the Great Dragon, creator of the Magic Dimension, and the Leviathan, creator of the Infinite Ocean. It holds the power to break any dark spell, and can purify anything of dark or wild magic.
    • In this rewrite, Queen Ligea's Coral Gem, which was shattered by Tritannus, is actually a piece of the Breath of the Ocean, which explains its purification and healing abilities.
    • As for the Breath of the Ocean itself, Bloom is actually tricked into creating it. Using Sky as a decoy, Tritannus and Icy lure Bloom into using her full power on the Emperor's Throne. As Bloom carries the power of the Dragon Flame, the Flame reacts to the Serpent's Tears, contained in the Emperor's Throne, fusing with them to produce the Breath of the Ocean.

    Season 6 Rewrite
  • Abusive Parents: Stella's father, as it turns out, loomed dangerously close to this trope. King Radius forbade his wife, former Queen Luna, from teaching Stella about her Selenian heritage. In the present, Luna reveals to her daughter that Radius was infuriated by Stella's decision to be the Fairy of the Sun and Moon, and took his anger out on Luna.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Krystal joins the Trix in episode 5.
  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: The Trix and Selina manage to take over Alfea College, making it their new HQ for the season. Thanks to the Legendarium, they were supported by Clariel, the Founder of Alfea, who directly took control of the Heart of Alfea, and thus, all of the school's magic.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Musa admits in her therapy session with Felamota that she's been considering about her own gender identity lately, considering whether or not she's nonbinary rather than just seeing herself as female. This is foreshadowed in an earlier dream she had, in which Musa led an orchestra of clones of herself, many wearing either masculine or feminine clothing, and Musa struggling to keep their music in tune.
  • Art Shift: The first two episodes of Season 6 used 3D models instead of screenshots from the series. Logistical issues caused the 3D models to be abandoned, however, and the presentation reverted back to the screenshots.
  • Adapted Out: Like Season 5, the Season 6 rewrite removes a lot of plot points from the original version, such as all the MacGuffins present in the original Season 6 and monsters that were sent in it (Ex. The Treants for example)
  • Battle At The Center Of The Mind: Bloom has a brief one of these in Episode 2. In that episode, Miss Griffin allows Bloom to undergo a Disentanglement Ritual in Cloud Tower, letting her into the Heart of Cloud Tower to manifest her inner darkness before her so she can face it. During the Ritual, Bloom has a brief encounter with Dark Bloom.
    • In Episode 18 Darkar's attack results in her being trapped in her own mind, where she encounters Buddy and decides that she's done hating herself and wants to be better.
  • Breaking the Fellowship: Occurs at the end of Episode 9 to the Winx. Thanks to Bloom's mistakes in trying to aid her friends in recovering their memories, coupled together with Selina impersonating Bloom and deriding them with Bloom's face, the Winx have finally had enough. While Flora and Tecna choose to remain with Bloom in Cloud Tower (Flora out of sympathy and Tecna out of pragmatism), Stella, Musa, Aisha, and Roxy all choose to return to their homeworlds to reconsider their goals and choices.
  • The Bus Came Back: Chimera returns as an ally of the Trix.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Chimera's eclipse spell at the end of Episode 3. To break the barrier on the Heart of Beta Academy, she intensifies the spell via Self-Deprecation and self-hatred. The spell strengths to the point where Chimera nearly kills herself in dropping the barrier. Fortunately for her, Selina and the Trix save her.
  • Condescending Compassion: Bloom's attempts to help her friends after their memories are erased and things continually get worse slowly become this.
    • When Roxy asks Bloom to share the Dragon Flame with her so she can stand a chance against the Trix with her fellow Winx, Bloom doesn't do so, claiming that Roxy is still a fairy in training and hasn't even achieved the greater fairy forms like Enchantix. She says this even though Earth Fairies like Roxy don't have forms like that, and Roxy actually told Bloom this, meaning she didn't even bother to remember it.
    • When she crosses the line to try to jog Stella's memories (convincing Lockette and Piff to enter her dreams, causing her to recall her trauma about her parents' divorce), she attempts to defend herself by saying she was trying to help Stella. Stella, and later Aisha, say otherwise, saying that Bloom was only interested in helping herself feel better by keeping her friends joined at the hip.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: Miss Griffin in Episode 2. She appears in Gardenia, informed by Faragonda about Bloom, in an attempt to help her out of her rut by offering her a chance to study in Cloud Tower. While sympathetic to her plight, Miss Griffin does not hold back on breaking down how pitiful Bloom's being.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: The full details of Selina's past haven't been revealed but it's implied that whatever went down between her and Bloom was deeply unpleasant (when Selina takes her gloves off it's revealed that she has burn scars on her hands and forearms).
  • Dark Is Not Evil: This season greatly shifts the series' usual dynamic of Light Is Good and Dark Is Evil, and as such, has serval examples of this trope.
    • Miss Griffin offers to teach Bloom about this trope, offering her a graduate-level study at Cloud Tower to help her face her inner darkness.
    • After Alfea is conquered by the Trix and the Winx are taken in by Cloud Tower for the time being, Miss Griffin begins giving this training to not just Bloom, but all of the Winx.
    • In Episode 9, "Cloudtower Under Siege", Bloom directly utilizes this trope for the first time, reluctantly calling on Dark Bloom's aid to save the Heart of Cloud Tower. Her counterpart does so, using dark magic to purge the fairy magic that was currently choking out the Heart.
    • Queen Hekate, who was a Witch of the Moon and once held the Legendarium. She was the final queen of the Kingdom of Selenia, and used the book's powers in self-defense in an attempt to save her homeland. Sadly, she failed.
    • Stella, upon gaining her Ardorix powers. Her personal Ardorix weapon, the Celestial Scepter, enables her to actively harness her lunar powers.
  • Dirty Coward: Krystal. In Episode 5, when the Trix attack Lynphea, intending to use Krystal as a hostage, she immediately begs for her life, begging her to let her join them instead, offering to give them the secrets and weaknesses of Marigold Institute as a bonus. Roxy is rightly disgusted by this, calling Krystal a traitor. However, it seems that this may be potentially Subverted, as Krystal later rebels against the Trix, though her reasons for doing so are ambiguous so far.
  • Darker and Edgier: Although the rewrites as a whole are this to the canonical versions of these seasons, the season 6 rewrite is this to season 5. This season has even higher stakes than the one preceding it, such as the Trix successfully conquering Alfea as their new HQ in only the second episode, and it also deals with Bloom's insecurities of losing all of the people in her life when her friends’ memories get wiped. It also introduces LGBT elements into the series, and even goes as far as to deal with topics like miscarriage in its fifth and sixth episodes.
  • Downer Beginning: In spades.
    • Episode 1, "Woes of an Alfea Alumna", focuses a lot on Bloom's newfound depression and feelings of loneliness from the events of the previous season's finale. Having broken up from Sky for good and the other Winx having left to focus on their own lives and pursuits, Bloom slowly becomes afraid that she might be splitting away from her closest friends for good. In an attempt to help her recover, Faragonda encourages Bloom to take a small vacation on Earth. When she returns to Gardenia, her situation only worsens as she encounters Selina, who then releases the Fire Eaters upon Bloom and the Frutti Music Bar. Bloom is just barely able to defeat them before they kill both her and her adoptive father Mike. The episode ends with the one responsible, Selina, infiltrating Alfea as a new student.
    • Episode 2, "The Fall of Alfea", if the name didn't give it away already. In this episode, Alfea is successfully conquered by the Trix and Selina. As if that weren't bad enough, who exactly does Selina release from the Legendarium next to help her with this? Clariel, the Founder of Alfea. It only adds insult to injury that Selina turns the school's powers against itself to conquer it. At the conclusion, only the Winx, minus Roxy, manage to avoid being captured by the Trix and Selina as Alfea becomes their new HQ for the season.
  • Enemy Within: Dark Bloom makes a return in this rewrite, and is shaping up to be this for her regular counterpart. In all of Bloom's nightmares in Episode 2, Dark Bloom appears to taunt her over her flaws, even taking on a dark version of Bloom's Enchantix form. She appears at the end of Episode 3 as well, confronting Bloom as she dives into the Vortex of Flames. In Episode 17, Selina rips Dark Bloom out of Bloom for usage in the ritual.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • In Episode 7, while the Trix encourage Selina to peer into the darkness of her past to magnify her powers, they assure her that they won't peep into her memories and see her secrets. They keep their word on this, too.
    • In Episode 14, when Icy freezes and shatters Krystal's wings after catching her rebelling against the Trix, Selina is shocked and disturbed by this. Given how we learn that the magic in Selina's bloodline was taken away, and how Selina only now has magic because of another (Acheron), it makes sense that seeing another magical being having that power taken from them seems to strike a chord in her.
    • In Episode 16, Gantlos and Anagan turn on Ogron when they learn that he deliberately manipulated Duman into overloading his powers, which ultimately caused his death.
    • In Episode 18, the Trix are furious when they see that Selina has summoned Lord Darkar. Though in this instance, it may be less standards and more the fact that Darkar had betrayed them in the past
  • Evil Former Friend: Selina to Bloom
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: The Legendarium. While the legends Selina summons from it are under her influence, they actually possess free will. According to Acheron, if a legend from the book refuses to return to it, they'll remain free and Selina can't force them back inside. All this is demonstrated in Episode 6, in which the Rose King, the Nature Spirit of Lynphea, rejects Selina's control and turns on her. The episode ends with him free and still on Lynphea. Acheron chews Selina out for her lack of caution, telling her that they must bind the legends using Acheron's sigil to take control of them.
    • Episode 15 takes it even further. Using the Legendarium, the Trix and Selina release the Wizards of the Black Circle (all except Duman, who was dead by this point) from the Omega Dimension. Selina even makes the Wizards even stronger than before, giving them an immunity to the Winx's Believix powers. Unfortunately, the Wizards hate witches just as much as they hate fairies, and Selina's only means of restraining them is the Legendarium. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, Anagan swipes the book from Selina and the Witches turn on her and the Trix, forcing them to pull an Enemy Mine with the Winx to stop them. Icy outright points out to Selina in Episode 17 that the Legendarium is proving to be more harm than good.
  • Foil:
    • Selina to Bloom. As it turns out, both of them have family ties in the Magic Dimension. Bloom originally came from there, born as the heir to the throne of Domino. Selina, meanwhile, on her mother's side of the family, is descended from the Kingdom of Selenia. Both of them owe their powers to others; Bloom, in this continuity, was given the Dragon Flame by her sister Daphne as a child, and Selina only has magic now because of the connection she made to Acheron.
    • Selina to Stella. Selina was Bloom's best friend in her childhood, and Bloom admits that Stella became her best friend in her adulthood. Both are also revealed to be attracted to women. However, Selina came to fall in love with Bloom, but never confessed her feelings to her. Stella, meanwhile, only ever saw Bloom as a friend and never held romantic feelings for her. Additionally, both are partial descendants of the Kingdom of Selenia, and even from the same side of their families - their mothers are both descended from Selenia. Stella, in the course of her Character Development, desires to embrace her Selenian heritage. Selina, meanwhile, serves Acheron, who bears much of the responsibility for destroying Selenia in the first place.
  • Heel–Face Brainwashing: Acheron did this to 4 of the worst criminals from Lightrock Monastery - Styx, Lethe, Cocytus, and Phlegethon - to make them all Knights Templar just like him. Inundating them in the light of the Second Sun of Solaria, they became just as insane and light-obsessed as Acheron. However, this is arguably deconstructed as 1): Acheron was far from good by this point, and 2): the brainwashing didn't take; the true criminal personalities of the 4 men actively clashed with the effects of the light on their minds, which contributed to their madness. As for what they did afterwards? They helped Acheron to conquer the kingdom of Selenia and nearly eradicate an entire culture.
  • Holy Is Not Safe: The Second Sun of Solaria. It's the embodiment of Solaria's life force and is directly tied to the life of Stella's father, King Radius. However, as Episode 13 reveals, its power can also be very dangerous. In the ancient past, Acheron had 4 of the worst criminals from Lightrock Monastery inundated in its powerful light. The light drove the men to insanity, making them just as crazy and light-obsessed as Acheron. Not only that, but their true criminal personalities clashed with the light, which only fed their madness even further.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Acheron used this to justify himself as he descended into madness. He came to believe that the Dragon Flame, the very magic that created the Magic Dimension, is the source of all chaos and darkness due to its connection to the Shadow Phoenix, the most evil entity to ever exist in the Magic Dimension.
  • Irony: Both Selina and Acheron engage in this, as it turns out.
    • Selina, as it turns out, is a partial descendant of Selenia. As a result of Selenia being conquered, Selina's mother's family had to hide out on Earth, the magic in their bloodline fading until Selina herself was born without magic and was told she'd never have it. In the present, Selina is currently serving Acheron, one of the major contributors to the destruction of Selenia - in other words, one of the major reasons why Selina was born without magic of her own. And the magic that she possesses now only exists because of her connection to Acheron.
    • Acheron is a light-obsessed Knight Templar who helped to destroy the Kingdom of Selenia. His current ally is Selina, who, unbeknownst to him, is part Selenian and even displayed moon-based magic at the start of the season to Stella.
  • I've Come Too Far: Selina privately admits to herself that this is part of why she serves Acheron. Namely, her connection to Acheron is what's allowing Selina to control magic, as the magic that naturally existed in her family's bloodline has faded away. Selina's mother outright told her that she'll never possess magic of her own. Despite her misgivings, Selina sees the magic she has as too precious to give up now, and she'll keep it even if it means serving Acheron.
  • Knight Templar: Acheron, as revealed by Professor Avalon in Episode 13. Long ago, Acheron was once a paladin, an agent of Lightrock Monastery, called the "Scarlet Paladin". However, becoming obsessed with light and purity, he began to despise the darkness and flaws in everything, including himself. He went so far as to deem the Dragon Flame, the magic that created the Magic Dimension, as the source of all its darkness and chaos, citing its connection to the Shadow Phoenix, a being of powerful darkness, as evidence of this. Conversely, he saw the Spring of Light on Solaria, from which the Ring of Solaria (which doubled as Stella's old scepter) was thought to have been forged, as the one true light in the universe. Descending into misery and madness, Acheron cut ties with Lightrock and became this trope, willing to "purify" the Magic Dimension of darkness and chaos by any means necessary.
    • To that end, he released 4 of the worst criminals held in Lightrock: Styx, Lethe, Cocytus, and Phlegethon and recruited them to become his allies. Taking them to Solaria, he had them, along with himself, pledged to Theia, the then-queen of Solaria, in exchange for being allowed to reach the Second Sun of Solaria. When they did, Acheron had the 4 criminals inundated in the light of the Second Sun, brainwashing them into becoming Knights Templar as well, and just as mad as Acheron. Together with Acheron, the 5 became known as the "Rivers of the Underworld", and helped Theia to conquer Selenia.
  • LGBT Awakening:
    • It's implied that this is in the works for both Bloom and Stella in certain moments.
      • For Bloom, in Episode 1, she sports a Luminescent Blush as she looks over her past moments with Stella from the Time Skip. In her nightmare at the start of Episode 2, Bloom's vision of Sky briefly turns into Stella. Later, during the Disentanglement Ritual, she's pulled into an illusion of what's supposed to be her and Sky's wedding, but for some reason, she can't focus on Sky and instead focuses on Stella instead.
      • For Stella, at the end of Episode 1, Stella's unusually flustered (and secretly relieved) at seeing that Bloom isn't around at Alfea to greet the other Winx.
      • It's downright confirmed in Episode 14 when we see a flashback with Bloom and Stella during their summer visit, where Bloom says that without Sky around she hasn't been able to pursue any romantic relationships, and she ends up releasing her love may be a lot more complicated than that. Stella is also confirmed to be bisexual when she responds to Bloom by saying that she has always fawned over both men and women.
    • Riven is confirmed to have feelings for Sky in Episode 10 when he talks about his feelings while playing his guitar at Felamota's musical therapy session.
    • Musa, in her therapy with Felamota, admits that she's been considering about her own gender identity, wondering if she's potentially nonbinary.
    • Selina, while in disguise in Felamota's therapy session and taking her turn to share, admits that she actually developed feelings for a female friend of hers from her past, but chose to bottle up those feelings out of fear of ruining their friendship. The Trix (more specifically Icy), in observing Selina from Alfea, realize that she's saying she has feelings for Bloom.
  • Light Is Not Good: In shifting the canon series' usual prevalent dynamic of Dark Is Evil and Light Is Good, several examples of this trope are displayed here.
    • Clariel, the Founder of Alfea. In ages past, she was hailed as the most beautiful Fairy of the Magic Dimension. In the present, summoned by Selina via the Legendarium, Clariel exists as a vengeful spirit under Selina's influence.
    • Chimera is back, having been released from prison on "good behavior", but even though she's still training as a fairy, she certainly hasn't become any better of a person since she was imprisoned. In fact, she becomes even worse, betraying Beta Academy and joining forces with the Trix. As a result, she's given the Heart of Beta Academy as a reward, which grants Chimera a Dark Enchantix form.
    • Acheron, Selina's real master, is revealed to be this. In Episode 13, Avalon reveals that Acheron was once known as the "Scarlet Paladin", an agent of Lightrock Monastery. However, in becoming obsessed with light and purity, Acheron descended into madness and became a Knight Templar, willing to do anything to "purify" the Magic Dimension of darkness and chaos.
    • Queen Theia, the first queen of Solaria, and by extension, the entire Solarian dynasty, or at least Radius and his predecessors, are revealed as this in Episodes 13 and 14. Theia was the one who originally conquered Selenia, establishing the modern kingdom of Solaria. She and her descendants then actively worked to eradicate Selenian history and culture, and, as Narcissa's story implies, actively caused discrimination against the remaining Selenian people.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Queen Hekate, the last queen of the Kingdom of Selenia, who was also a Witch of the Moon and once held the Legendarium, shares her name with the Greek goddess Hekate. In Greek mythology, Hekate was the goddess of the moon and witchcraft.
    • The Rivers of the Underworld, a cabal of Knights Templar, was comprised of the sorcerer Acheron and 4 criminals he recruited and brainwashed into sharing his views: Styx, Lethe, Cocytus, and Phlegethon. In Greek mythology, the names of all 5 men are literally the names of the rivers of Hades, or the underworld.
      • The river that Acheron shares his name with was recognized in mythology as the "River of Woe", or "River of Misery". Avalon described Acheron as being a very miserable man, as he came to abhor the darkness and flaws in everything and everyone, including himself.
  • Nightmare Sequence: Bloom has a nightmare in episode 2 "The Fall of Alfea". In the nightmare, she is flying around in a ruin with lava and intense heat, she then comes across Daphne, but she then says along with a deeper voice behind her, "You are not worthy." A Fire Eater then comes and sucks up Bloom's magic. Bloom tries to run away and then sees Sky at the other end of the hall. She flies towards him only for him to turn into Stella before disappearing into the inferno. She then hears someone letting out a mischievous laugh and then sees Selina. Bloom rushes towards her, only for her to turn into Dark Bloom, even taking on a dark version of Enchantix.
  • Pet the Dog: Lord Darkar surprisingly lets Selina go without killing her as payment for bringing him back. Icy also shows genuine concern towards Selina during their sessions, and is disturbed to hear her talking to Acheron.
  • Race Lift: Stormy and Roxy have their skin colors changed here.
  • Power Incontinence: Bloom's recent depression and state of mind aren't doing any good for her powers, as she notes in Episode 2 that they've been weakening. During the Disentanglement Ritual, it's implied that this is partially due to the Great Dragon itself becoming dissatisfied with Bloom's state of mind, and that it's beginning to see her as unworthy of the Dragon Flame.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Lucy and Mirta in this rewrite. In Episode 2, Lucy reveals to Bloom that the two of them, over the years, became a couple and have even recently become engaged.
  • Self-Deprecation: Bloom engages in a lot of this during the first few episodes of the rewrite. Having fallen into a depression since breaking up with Sky for good and the Winx having split to return to their own worlds, Bloom resorts to this as a coping mechanism in her attempts to get better. Miss Griffin calls her out on this in Episode 2.
    • In Episode 3, Chimera is shown to be doing the same, wallowing in self-pity over how she's lost her status and privilege and how her fellow students no longer trust her. In her case, she actually weaponizes it via The Power of Hate, using her own self-loathing to deepen her hatred and magnify her powers, allowing her to expose the Heart of Beta Academy for the Trix to steal.
  • There Are No Therapists: Zig-Zagged. In Cloud Tower, one of the professors, Zarathustra, also doubles as a therapist there, and the Winx spend time with her. However, Zarathustra is only interested in the academic aspect of therapy rather than the emotional side. As such, her brand of "therapy" only serves to hurt the Winx even more as she fails to listen to their feelings and problems, something Flora calls her out on. Later in Episode 10, Felamota, a much more competent and empathetic therapist, is introduced to the story. She's first introduced helping Musa and Riven to address their issues, and later agrees to help the other Winx with therapy as well.
  • The Magic Goes Away: In Episode 14, it's revealed that this happened to Selina's family. As it turns out, Selina's mother's family didn't come from Earth, but rather from Selenia. When Queen Theia of Solaria conquered their home, they were forced to flee and hide on Earth. Over the course of many generations, the magic in their bloodline faded away. Selina's mother outright told her daughter that she would never have magic. The only reason Selina even has magic now is because of her connection to Acheron.
  • The Power of Hate: Chimera is shown to draw upon this to fuel her powers. In the beginning of Episode 3, she creates a localized eclipse by drawing on her hatred; specifically, her hatred towards Stella and her desire for revenge against her. At the end of the episode, she does this again to lower the barrier on the Heart of Beta Academy. Here, she doesn't just draw upon her hatred of Stella, but also towards herself, using Self-Deprecation to intensify her power.
  • Time Skip: The season 6 rewrite takes place several months after the season 5 one. In that time, all the Winx have begun returning to their own lives and pursuits.
    • Bloom has returned to her teaching position at Alfea, watching over Roxy as she continues her studies there.
    • Stella has returned to Solaria, trying to research about Selenia, the Kingdom of the Moon, but having little luck.
    • Musa has returned to Melody, focusing on her music career, and recently separating from Riven again, reluctantly realizing that he really might not be the one for her after all.
    • Tecna has returned to Zenith, becoming an advisor to King Cryos like her parents and working alongside them, but feels continually stressed out by the position.
    • Aisha has returned home to Andros, helping her family recover from Tritannus's crimes and helping Nabu readjust to life among the living following his revival.
    • Flora has taken up a teaching position on her homeworld of Lynphea, becoming a mentor to her sister Miele, who has developed new powers as the "Fairy of Fungus".
  • Unperson: Episodes 13 and 14 reveal that this happened to the Kingdom of Selenia as a whole. After Theia, the first Queen of Solaria, conquered Selenia, she and her descendants, which include Stella's father King Radius, actively worked to eradicate Selenian history and culture from their world, making the mention of Selenia strictly forbidden.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Selina with Bloom. It's shown that a part of her still deeply misses that friendship, but it's also hinted that SOMETHING happened that wiped Bloom's memory of it.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Bloom ends up on the receiving end of this.
    • When Roxy asks Bloom to share the Dragon Flame with her so she can gain power like her fellow Winx have now, Bloom doesn't do so. Her reason for this is that Roxy is still a fairy in training and hasn't even gained higher fairy forms like Enchantix or Believix yet. Roxy then points out that 1): she was allowed to join the Winx on the greater adventure when she received Sirenix along with the rest of them and 2): Roxy, as an Earth Fairy, doesn't gain transformations like Bloom and the other Winx. Roxy even told Bloom about this beforehand, meaning she didn't even care to remember something so important about her pupil. Roxy leaves in frustration, coldly saying that there really are only 6 Winx after all.
    • In Episode 8, "The Origin", Bloom attempts to get reawaken Stella's memories using Lockette and Piff's powers to enter her dreams. This results in Stella recalling her trauma regarding her parents' divorce, which only hurts her even more. Musa and Aisha find out what Bloom did and they are pissed. Episodes 9 & 10 further show the other Winx chewing Bloom out for this, saying that Bloom was invading Stella's privacy, and Griffin also calls Bloom out on this, saying that even if she misses her friend's old selves, that does not excuse invading their boundaries at all. Even the Pixies, specifically Amore, Chatta, Tune and Digit, also are disgusted by what Bloom did to Stella (Especially Chatta, Stella's bonded Pixie). Needless to say, Bloom does not get off the hook for what she did here.
  • What Have I Done: Bloom does this in Episode 9 after all the other Winx split up. She fully admits that she messed up really badly due to her selfishness and desire to keep her friends, which surprises Venomya and makes her remark that Bloom has gained "A newfound self-awareness".
  • Yin-Yang Bomb: Stella, who already had elements of this as the Fairy of the Sun and Moon, becomes this full-out upon earning her Ardorix transformation. Stella's personal Ardorix weapon, the Celestial Scepter, represents the sun, the moon, and all of the stars and planets. In addition to her usual sun-based powers, the Scepter allows Stella to actively draw upon her lunar powers as well.
