Sorrow TV is an American YouTuber and voice actor. He's a Trope Codifier for the "Reddit Readings" brand of YouTube channels along with SootHouse and Slazo, both of which he's collaborated with. Sorrow is especially notable for his wide range of voice imitations he uses to hilarious effect. Some of his other formats are "Special Features" (more elaborate commentary on specifically chosen posts/content creators) and occasional short skits.

Sorrow TV has not been active on his YouTube or Twitter since 2021, after a string of mishaps.

Sorrow TV provides examples of:

  • Author Avatar: A man wearing an expressive white mask with Black Bead Eyes, from the film Bruiser. Every now and then, a cartoon, still-frame version of him appears in addition to the commentary.
  • Cover Version: Frequently does vocal covers of well-known songs in intros and outros of his videos, sometimes with altered lyrics.
  • Crossover: Occasionally collaborates with other YouTubers with similar format (most notably SootHouse, which included him in several of their own videos).
  • Everyone Has Standards: Sorrow will often voice his disdain for some of the more atrocious behaviors portrayed in the posts he reads; usually in a humorous way, though more straightforward and honest comments are not uncommon.
  • Insult Backfire: On Sorrow, no less! From r/niceguys Top Posts of All Time [4]:
Sorrow: [sung to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It"] If you've never actually had sex, clap your hands! [clap, clap; Beat] Wait, fuck!
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: The man doesn't call himself a voice actor for nothing. Grumpy Old Man? Bratty Half-Pint? Valley Girl? He can do all of that and more.
  • Relax-o-Vision: At the end of r/niceguys Special Feature: Our Love Forever Vol. 1 of 221 which features the journals of a man obsessing over a co-worker. When the creepiness comes in, the music becomes discordant to highlight the insanity of the author. At the end of the vid, we're treated to cure puppies to calm the viewer down.
  • Shout-Out: In this video, Sorrow gives shout-outs to 8 YouTube channels he thinks deserve more subscribers.
  • Take That!: Inevitably, a lot of people become targets of Sorrow's mockery due to the nature of some of the subreddits he chooses (r/niceguys, r/nicegirls, r/quityourbullshit, r/ChoosingBeggars, the list goes on).
  • Tempting Fate: Early on in r/assholedesign Top Posts of All Time [2], he and Marshal make a joke about somebody releasing a "free" calculator app and forcing people to pay to unlock certain functions (like multiplication). Later on in the video, they find out that somebody has actually done that.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: The main content of his r/quityourbullshit special features that has him describe youtubers that have bad senses of entitlement, fake pranks, immature pranks, and other infuriating youtube habits.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Not SorrowTV himself, but he covered a video of R/NiceGuys: Special Feature, which was originally a Reddit post of a woman who received her stalker's diary in the mail, obsessively detailing her clothes, her conversations with her co-workers, him declaring to be her "perfect mate" and reacting with seething jealousy when he perceived her flirting with a male colleague. When said woman eventually left the company, the guy lost it, sent her the diary to "prove his love" and decided to camp outside her apartment for three days and had apparently been planning to kidnap her. Fortunately, she wasn't even in the state at the time and was in the process of moving for her new job and the stalker was arrested, given a prison sentence and the woman clarified in the post she's fine now. SorrowTV then plays a clip of puppies at the end of the video to comfort the viewer.
