Go To

Chaldea Gurus, once used as the YouTube profile of MusamichiSama, was originally a small how-too guide to give tips of Fate/Grand Order. It has since become its own version of how Grand Order plays out, with Musamichi Sama as the new director head of Chaldea, as he tries to deal with Chaldea's quirky workforce, including a sassy librarian, PT, a moody man (who may or may not be a cyborg), and Sippy, a man with a questionable sense of sanity, Servants from beyond space and time, and the threat of Singularities and what comes after.

While they started off as just giving tips of how to fight bosses of Singularity, following the end of Solomon and the start of Shinjuku, a story dealing with the consequences of Arc 1 has begun to form. And it only gets better from there.

Character sheet under construction

  • Aborted Arc: Downplayed. Due to the fact that SE.RA.PH. was an event, they had to stop uploading videos on dealing with the bosses. However, it was wrapped up in a separate video.
  • Accidental Time Travel: Slippy causes this after messing with the controls, which brought him and Waver to the time period of Fate/Zero.
  • Art Evolution: "Gurus In The Lostbelts" gives everyone (except Paso) and new look, no longer being drawn by different artists.
  • Beach Episode: The Summer Event guides and skits count.
  • Big "WHAT?!": There are a few moments of this from both allies and enemies.
    • During the London boss guide, Mordred reacts this way upon seeing Artoria Lancer Alter.
    • Jeanne Alter pulls this when PT tells her Emiya Alter has 200 minions.
    • Caster Limbo does this when Void Shiki uses her Mystic Eye to subdue him long enough to strike him down. But turns out it was a fake.
    • Musaki lets this out after Da Vinci alerts to the presence of an enemy Servant intercepting the Shadow Border.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Ryusuke pulls this on Kadoc in Lostbelt 1 after the latter talks smack during their first confrontation.
  • The Bus Came Back: PT comes back in the Surtr Boss Guide to soothe a grieving Nina after Napoleon's sacrifice before leaving again.
  • Curse Cut Short: At the end of the boss guide for Ozymandias, when Nina sees Artoria Rider is up next...
    Nina: Oh, sh- (cut to static)
  • Dancing Is Serious Business: After the Shinjuku singularity, Jeanne Alter sabotages communications to demand PT to dance with her. After some awkward shenanigans, they do it. Could also slide into shades of Dance of Romance when Nina and Edmond join in the fun.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: In "The Stakes are High...", when Tamamo-Vitch mocks a dying Ryusuke, Chloe opts to walk up and slaps her. It takes every Servant at their disposal and P.T. to stop Vitch from killing her.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: As expected of the Gurus' telling of the Lostbelt arcs. Just ask Napoleon and Spartacus.
  • Justified Tutorial: Chaldea Gurus pretty much functions as a tutorial series for Fate Grand Order.
  • The Medic: Chloe fits this, being a doctor and capable of using healing runes as she demonstrated with Ortlinde.
  • Oh, Crap!: Happens in various episodes;
    • In the Prison Tower event, Nina has a few of these, especially when facing particularly crazy Servants.
    • In Shinjuku, Archer of Shinjuku has this briefly when PT calls him by his True Name James Moriarty.
  • Put on the Bus: PT disappears after "Home", and isn't seen at all in the title for "Gurus In The Lostbelts."
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": Nina does this when Surtr reveals himself and makes his intentions on the Lostbelt known to the Gurus.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Slippy when he has his crazy or raging moments.
    • In Gotterdammerung, the Gurus, specifically Nina, notice the red eyes when first encountering Sigurd.
  • Readings Are Off the Scale: Paso freaks out and short-circuits while trying to scan a berserk Abigail Williams. She even lets out toast from the top of her head.
  • Ship Tease: Its abound;
    • Musamichi with Okita and Meltryllis. But mostly Okita, especially in Shimosa when she somehow finds a way into the alternate world Musamichi was trapped in.
    • PT with Jeanne Alter, as seen in the ending video for Shinjuku.
    • Nina with Emond Dantes, as seen in both the Prison Tower mini-series, and in Shinjuku.
  • Smug Super: Surtr while parading around as Sigurd comes off like this, and he proves he's NOT someone to take lightly.
  • Spotting the Thread: After 'Sigurd' added fire to his attacks against Napoleon, Nina notices this right away, and mentions this to Brynhildr.
    Nina: That was rune magic, wasn't it?
    Brynhildr: Yes...yes, it was.
    Nina: I remember something you said to me...about Sigurd. You said he never used flame runes.
    Cue Bryn's shocked face
  • Stunned Silence: Everyones' reaction in "The Stakes are High" to when Goredolf suggests Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide who drinks the antidote.
  • Tempting Fate: One way or another, someone will say something stupid that leads to something happening.
    • In Shinjuku, Moriarty acknowledges that he tempted fate when he hears something crash the party.
      Moriarty: Perhaps I may have spoken too soon.
    • Approaching Gotterdammerung, plenty of people jinx their progress only to be sabotaged by Sigurd.
  • Terms of Endangerment: Sigurd does this to Brynhildr after she realizes something is wrong and confronts him, demanding to know who she's really talking to.
    Brynhildr: Who are you?
    Sigurd: You really don't recognize me, dear Brynhildr? Why, I'm Sigurd, of course!
  • Took a Level in Badass: Slippy, ever since being shocked by the unfinished Shadow Border, slowly began to act strang(er then usual), coming to a head in Shimousa where he stands up to Caster Limbo, summons Void Shiki, and kills the clone. Goes further in Salem, where he's much more badass and serious, and is no longer crazy, according to Paso as well as calling himself Syrus. Turns out, after falling into Salem, he meets Abigail, who goes berserk and traps him in his own head, where he's hanged and killed by Syrus in order to safeguard Chaldea and the world from the Foreign God and the Lostbelts.
  • Wham Episode: Guruverse started to have these after Solomon;
    • The very first one is "Conflicting Ideals", where PT and Musamichi have a talk about what's to come, with the former being aware of the Epic of Remnant and Cosmo in the Lostbelts arcs.
    • "Replacement" Slippy is in fact an alternate persona of Syrus, formed from Caster Limbo's magic and Syrus's "more shameful traits" before Syrus kills Slippy to take over so to be better prepared for the Lostbelts.
    • "Home" is a major one, with PT in fact a Counter Guardian, hence why he knows the events of future arcs, and was in love with Nina in the first timeline, but disappears at the end of the episode.
  • Would Hit a Girl: No female character among the Gurus is safe from any threat of attack.
  • You Are Worth Hell: Nina and PT are willing to return to the Uruk underworld to cure everyone in Chaldea of their sicknesses.
  • Your Answer to Everything: In any skit Jeanne Alter is present, she usually threatens to burn something that gives her trouble. Enemies giving her trouble? Burn them all! PT not being cooperative or paying attention to her? Burn his feet or something!
