About Me
Hello there, unsuspecting troper! I'm The Lord Yoinketh Away, but you knew that already, didn't you? I've come to experience media quite differently after reading up on a lot of the tropes cataloged on this wiki, and I've come across various different perspectives that I had never considered before on the YMMV pages, so I couldn't resist getting a piece of the pie for myself and contributing to all that. That's basically the story of why I joined TV Tropes. Likes (Media)

- The Last Jedi: I know, I know. However, while I am well aware that it has its flaws, and some pretty major flaws too, there's too much good stuff about this movie for me to just write it off as an outright terrible experience.
- Black Panther
- Avengers: Infinity War
- Ant-Man and the Wasp
- Christopher Robin
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
- Aquaman: While Amber Heard being in this movie makes my skin crawl, for obvious reasons, I still think it's one of the better movies from the DC Extended Universe.
- The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
- How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
- Captain Marvel (2019): While I'm not going to act like this film is among the best of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it is no Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Black Panther, or Avengers: Infinity War, I cannot bring myself to say that it's quite as bad as its hatedom makes it out to be. I even feel like all the shit about it being an example of Political Correctness Gone Mad is a little overblown, because while you'd have to be kind of an asshole to act like this is only an argument that them sexist "manbabies" throw around to cover up the TRUTH that they just hate women and minorities, some people unfortunately do act like simply having proactive female characters at all is shoving a political agenda down the audience's throats. Talos, Nick Fury, Phil Coulson... pretty much all the male characters who aren't villains are not made to look more incompetent, irrational, or stupid than this film's leading ladies, and while that Deleted Scene with the creepy biker dude does paint Carol as a Designated Hero, a lot of these people have seemingly forgotten that it's called a "Deleted Scene" because it didn't actually make it into the goddamn film and that the version of the scene that did make it in only exists to illustrate even more that Carol is The Comically Serious in what also doubles as a much more amusing moment of comeuppance for the creepy biker dude. Is their beef with Brie Larson and the statements she's made about diversity? If so, then I feel like the only reason these people believe that this film is secretly shoving "woke" values down the audience's throats is because they're actually projecting their dislike of the actress and her views onto the film itself, which is... stupid. Jesus Christ people, this and the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy are both owned by freakin' Disney, whose success is, in part, derived from appealing to as wide a demographic as possible. What possible benefit would they have from purposefully alienating a large portion of their movie-going audience — in this case, straight white men — just for the sake of virtue signaling? Save it for films that actually warrant the backlash. With that said though, we really couldn't have gotten the Black Widow movie first, even though, considering that she was the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first female superhero, she totally deserved the honor of having their first female-led movie over some rando who wasn't even introduced until this movie? Honestly, that's the only real gripe I have with this film; the rest of it is alright.

- Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Joker (2019)
- Frozen II
- Sonic the Hedgehog (2020): It's one of the first good video game movies that I've seen with both its success and that of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu seemingly ushering in a new era of video game movies that don't suck, the fact that the director actually listened to fan backlash and got rid of gremlin!Sonic shows that they really do care about making something enjoyable for the fans and that it's not just a simple cash-grab... and also, "Baby Sonic" is so cute that I will love and protect him with every fiber of my being. Eat your heart out, "Baby Yoda"!

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: If you thought things couldn't get weirder after I basically admitted that the 2006 Sonic The Hedgehog reboot, which is one of the most hated games in the series, was what exposed me to a series that I ultimately ended up enjoying, think again!
