Trivia / Transformers: Rescue Bots

Go To

  • Ascended Fanon: Possibly unintentional, but Blades' human disguise is strikingly similar to a standard procedure of drawing a Transformer under the 'gijinka' genre by having the character wear clothing patterned after their bot form, akin to a cosplayer.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Bumblebee is voiced by Nicole Dubuc who recorded his speech and then it was replaced by his beeps.
  • The Danza: Dr. McSwain is voiced by the show's voice director, Ginny McSwain. Also counts as Descended Creator.
  • No Export for You: Unlike Prime and Robots in Disguise (2015), Rescue Bots was never given a proper release in Japanese markets. Considering its target demographic and the amount of other toylines for said niche in Japan, however, it's simply due to the fact that the series doesn't really have a place there.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Because of his stroke, Tim Curry was replaced by Greg Ellis as Dr. Morocco starting in season 2.
    • Hayley was voiced by Lacey Chabert in her first appearance. Since then she's been voiced by Danica McKellar.
    • All characters are voiced by soundalikes in the games.
    • Averted with Cody and Frankie. The time skip ages them up a few years to reflect the fact their voice actors (who started as kids and finished as teenagers) are also older.
  • Playing Against Type:
  • Production Posse: The show is a reunion with cast and crew My Friends Tigger And Pooh due to series developers Nicole Dubuc, Brian Hohlfeld, and Jeff Kline having worked on that series as producers. Also joining them are writers Dean Stefan and Kim Beyer Johnson, voice director Ginny McSwain, and series regulars Peter Cullen, Jim Cummings, Mark Hamill, and Kath Soucie voicing recurring characters here.
  • Recycled Script:
    • The plot for the episode "Enemy Of My Enemy" shares similarities with the Miles from Tomorrowland episode "Unexpected Ally". Both episodes involve the protagonist temporarily teaming up with an enemy to catch a more dangerous enemy. Both episodes were also written by Nicole Dubuc.
  • Technology Marches On: In "The Alien Invasion of Griffin Rock" Frankie became suspicious due to Rescue Bots driving themselves without the need of human drivers. Obviously, not a problem in 2019, when car autopilots became increasingly commonplace. One may actually wonder, why citizens of Griffin Rock — the place, literally bursting with futuristic technology — would consider self-driving car as something impossible?
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Nicole Dubuc replaces Frank Welker as Bumblebee's beeps and she is replaced by Will Friedle for Bumblebee's guest appearance in Season 4.
    • The tie-in games Rescue Dash and Hero Adventures replace the voices with Angela Galuppo as Cody, and David Lodge as Heatwave, Chase and Dr. Morocco. Crosses over with Cross-Regional Voice Acting, with Galuppo recording her audio in Montreal.
  • Written by Cast Member: Graham's voice actor, Shannon McKain, co-wrote three episodes.
