- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Not many episodes circulate, and only one episode has ever been aired on GSN (odd for a Sony-owned show that wasn't erased).
- Screwed by the Network: The intention that Merv and King World had for the show was for stations to team it up with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! as a 90-minute block. But nearly all of those stations aired the Wheel/Jeopardy combo in prime access (between network news at 6:30 and primetime at 8:00) so that idea didn't take off. Chasers was demoted to other time slots, and forced to fight it out in a TV season that was overrun with other games (Sale of the Century, veterans The Joker's Wild and Tic-Tac-Dough (the latter of which Martindale had left to create and host this), The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime, the original US version of Catchphrase, and the trainwreck that was Break the Bank (1985)), or, barring that, was also forced to compete with news-magazines, such as Entertainment Tonight, or court shows, such as The People's Court, so it wasn't able to get a foothold and expired quickly.
- Working Title: When Wink Martindale came up with the idea, it was originally titled Front Page.
