Usually, attempts at sad scenes in GoAnimate/Vyond come off as Narm. However, there are some moments where the grounded videos actually succeed at being sad. Even unskilled animators can make these moments.
- The Father/Son Story quadrilogy
by famed creator of the Jimmy Neutron Happy Family Happy Hour. - Eric's dad discovers the truth.: After Eric gets grounded just for dancing, his mom and dad go to Chuck E Cheese without him. His father, whilst waiting for the bus to Chuck E Cheese, feels horrible about going to Chuck E Cheese without him, and thinks that maybe he has a voice in his head that cannot be evaded that forces him to ground Eric. The mother, not understanding why he is sad, just comments that he probably got that quote from a cheesy movie. Finally, Dad breaks down and calls out his wife for not caring about "the innocence of family" and runs home crying. He is eventually Driven to Suicide and puts a gun to his head. the screen cuts to black just as we hear the gunshot. And this is not even Played for Laughs.
- Caillou gets a dog starts out heartwarming, but then Caillou's dog Scooter dies. Not to mention Boris's speech on death. To make matters worse, the video was made by none other than NotSmirks himself.
- This video shows the GoAnimate world about to end via that infamous moon, with Boris grounding Caillou for not stopping it in time. As they only have moments left, Caillou finally asks Boris why he was always so mean to him. Boris initially refuses to answer until Doris points out that Caillou is right, as Boris is forever grounding or torturing Caillou. Boris realizes that Doris is right and sincerely apologizes to Caillou for all of the abuse he put him through. Caillou forgives him and they tearfully hug each other and exchange "I love you"s, both eventually smiling as the moon crashes down. While it seems like a heartwarming, if incredibly bittersweet, ending to go out on, it turns out this was All Just a Dream (within a Dream Within a Dream), and the video still ends with Boris about to ground Caillou. The first part of the video makes it a Heartwarming Moment, but the fact that it was just a dream and Boris is still abusive makes it a Tear Jerker.
- Caillou's Teenhood has Daillou's death. Especially Daillou telling Caillou that he'd be glad to sacrifice himself to help him. The music that plays certainly does not help.
- Warren Cook Makes A Fake Gears Of War VHS opening seems normal, but then, Alan Cook realizes why he grounds Warren for making fake VHS openings: his life is built around it. This is followed by a hug, though. Then Warren reveals he was actually a robot the whole time.
- David releasing his pet Go-Coa in David Gets A Pet Go Coa. It's eventually lampshaded by letters on the screen reading "Sad, isn't it?"
- On the page image, there's the rest of Caillou's family, Leo, Dora, Boots, and a bodyguard (note: likely Macusoper) mourning Caillou's death in Diesel Busters Assaults Caillou Too Far. It's one of the few times that Caillou's parents aren't portrayed as Abusive Parents nor are Leo and Boots portrayed as awful friends to Caillou and Dora respectively.
- This video is another "[Character] Commits Suicide" video based on Weatherstar4000's videos.
- In Boris and Ms. Martin ruin Gilbert's funeral, you're greeted to virtually everyone espousing how important Caillou's cat was to them. Unfortunately, Boris and Doris show up and Mood Whiplash ensues.
- Boris' twin: episode 9: Cole and Elena's reaction to finding out that apparently Boris is a serial killer, Elena's Inelegant Blubbering fit makes it worse as it's an actual sound effect of a woman crying.
- Dora torturing and killing Gina in this video is utterly heart wrenching, even more so then other videos in which Gina got killed. She ends up being given a brutal punishment day for telling on Dora for bullying her. Many of the people who watched the video took it just as hard as Gina's Mom did.
- The video titled, Caillou Suicides, could also count. It shows a black and white scene of Caillou using a knife to take his life. To make it worse, unlike other videos like this, Boris dosen't feel severe remorse and actually celebrates. This comes to show that Caillou's dad doesn't love him and that Caillou was going through a lot of pain.
- Pan's Friendiversary Party is a mild example. Pan wants to celebrate her son Bruno's (who is around 5 years old) friendiversary with his best friends Brick and Bray, (who are 21 and 23 respectively). During the planning of the party, the boys tell a white fib and tell him that they are moving away, which causes the little boy to well up and burst into tears, as they were his best and only friends. Making this even more gut-wrenching, is when they go to most of the places they have their best memories, and seeing him cry just makes you want to give this kid a hug!
- Heck, Bruno himself is a walking tear-jerker all his own. He's shown to be incredibly lonely and timid as he got bullied by an older girl on his second appearance, rejected by his first best friend, betrayed by his second, had 2 crushes, and got rejected by both, loses his puppy, and it dies a couple of months later. Even this video lampshades on all the sad and horrible things he went through! Not helping the fact that in many of his appearances, he almost always shows [1] and/or bursts into tears. These are just a few of many sad moments and one can't help but feel sorry for him.

- Dora Shoots Up the School/Grounded/Executed is perhaps the most visceral depiction of a school shooting in a GoAnimate/Vyond video, depicting Dora shooting up her school, killing Miss Christina, Clementine's mother, Miss Martin, Gina, and a nameless rabble of students. Making it worse is the music playing in the background, which is from the scene in Revenge of the Sith when Order 66 is put into effect. The saddest part, though, is when Dora confronts Gina, who desperately asks Dora what they should do. Dora merely cocks her gun and wordlessly glares at her (and the music is the same part as when Darth Vader is about to kill the Jedi Younglings). Her subsequent execution is all that more satisfying.
- This video involving Caillou taking up smoking has Caillou watching an (in-universe) anti-smoking PSA. The man in the commercial is obviously suffering, wound up with several cancer diagnoses, has a scar on his neck from it, and ended up succumbing to his lung cancer during the ad's production. This causes Caillou to decide to quit smoking at the end of the video.
