    In General
  • The premise of Minilife TV, that being a show about everything, sounds like the opposite premise of a certain show about nothing. In fact, Ian even jokes about it in "The Late Night Snowball ft. Chris & Ian".
  • Ian has a Classic Space statue and a Dragon Sphere X poster in his room.
  • Death having a high-pitched voice is a nod to Gregg the Grim Reaper from Conker's Bad Fur Day, which is further supported by the revelation that his real name is Gregory.
  • Archie's ability to speak in beeps and chirps draws inspiration from R2-D2 and Bubo.
  • Chris and Ian's living room has a poster for a band called Green Brick and their album, "Plastic Idiot". Additionally, in "The Quest for ICE CREAM!!!", Chris reads about Green Brick's latest album in a magazine.
  • Chris and Ian's Starsabers are basically knockoffs of lightsabers.
  • Snowball's voice is inspired by Leslie Nielsen's portrayal of Dracula in Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
  • Part of Master Quoker's design is modeled after a Black Mage from Final Fantasy.
  • The Burton Night Club is named after film director Tim Burton, who's known for making plenty of gothic works.
    Season 1
  • In "How to Cook a VAMPIRE!", Ian forgets to add garlic to his vampire mixture and ends up with a vampire similar to Edward Cullen.
  • In "STORY TIME!", the postcard that Cameraman Quarterbanks sent to Chris and Ian has the message "I'm on a boat" written on it.
  • "1-800-MINIDIAL":
    • When Ian answers a call from his mother, he says "Dunder Mifflin, this is Ian."
    • When the troll runs away from Chris and Ian trying to beat him up, they say "Why do they always run?" and point out they stole it from Community.
  • The cat-throwing martial artist from "The Splitzies 5000!!!" and his arch nemeses are thinly-veiled parodies of Goku, Nappa, and Vegeta.
  • In "Season 1 Finale!", Human Ian says that Human Chris can't die because they haven't met Batman and don't know his alter ego.
    Season 2
  • "Season 2 Premiere!!!":
    • Human Ian plays a video game on a Game Boy Advance twice in the episode.
    • After Human Ian explains that Minilife TV is a Show Within a Show, Human Chris says to expect Inception jokes in the comments section of the video. Chris's minifigure counterpart doesn't get the reference.
  • "A Dark Night":
    • The film the gang watches is The Dark Knight Rises and there are people dressed in Batman-related costumes.
    • Some of the movies listed outside the theater include Ice Era: Comedic Drift, Ziggy Stardust, and Fred.
    • Michael doesn't have a Batman costume, so he wears a Waldo costume (minus the glasses) instead.
    • When Michael says the movie is going to be the most awesome one of the year, Snowball brings up The Avengers (2012).
    • When the gang is presented with a pre-movie trivia slide depicting a silhouette of a "lovable robot icon", Chris's guess is R2-D2, Ian's is WALL•E, and Michael's is Johnny Five.
    • The guy the gang forces out of his seat turns out to be Bruce Banner when he Hulks out on Newbie after not being able to see the manager.
  • In "Mime Support", when Tabatha and Larry see a movie, one of the movies listed outside the theater is LEGO Island.
  • In "How I Got Your Laptops", Batman is among the people who cheer for Snowball to transform into a bat.
    Season 3
  • In "The Late Night Snowball ft. Robert Vylan", a person on Crazy Made-up Stories People Tell to Be on TV claims to have seen what sounds like a description of Nyan Cat.
  • In "Poking the Pilot", Goshua turns Minilife TV into shows akin to Dr. Phil and CSI.
    Season 4
  • "Clair's Surprise":
    • Clair has a Wink-293 poster in her dormitory.
    • The Rowling University of Magic that Clair accepts a scholarship from is named after J. K. Rowling, who's best known for creating Harry Potter.
  • "The Semi-Finals":
  • The establishing shots of the Burton Night Club in "Snowball's Late Night Adventure" are a nod to the Mos Eisley Cantina scene from A New Hope.
  • In "Baby Crotchrash Returns", when Abel asks Master Quoker how to defeat Baby Crotchrash, Master Quoker tells him "there are alternatives to fighting".
    Season 5
    Minilife Chronicles
  • "The Rose" continues with the Super Mario Bros. references, as Ratzer returns as a skeletal construct similar to a Dry Bones, and the iris at the end references Bowser's iris from Super Mario 64.
  • In "The Armless Guy", one of the social media posts praising The Armless Guy's show comes from Nancy Nubbins.
  • "The Vampire":
    • The search engine Snowball uses on his phone is Ogel, which is not only a reference to Google, but also to a name that's appeared in both LEGO Alpha Team and LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge.
    • The article about the ancient vampire artifact found in the Oni Region is published by Pippin Reed.
  • In "The Program Coordinator", graffiti of Pepper Roni can be seen on the side of a building.
  • "The Student and The Master" contains several references to Dragon Ball:
    • The font of the title card is the same font used in the original anime.
    • The PAN-AIR Taxi Ship is partially inspired by Frieza's ship.
    • The Tremendous Toriyama is named after the manga artist Akira Toriyama.
    • Master Quoker riding his scepter is directly inspired by Mercenary Tao riding a pillar.
