In General
- The premise of Minilife TV, that being a show about everything, sounds like the opposite premise of a certain show about nothing. In fact, Ian even jokes about it in "The Late Night Snowball ft. Chris & Ian".
- Ian has a Classic Space statue and a Dragon Sphere X poster in his room.
- Death having a high-pitched voice is a nod to Gregg the Grim Reaper from Conker's Bad Fur Day, which is further supported by the revelation that his real name is Gregory.
- Archie's ability to speak in beeps and chirps draws inspiration from R2-D2 and Bubo.
- Chris and Ian's living room has a poster for a band called Green Brick and their album, "Plastic Idiot". Additionally, in "The Quest for ICE CREAM!!!", Chris reads about Green Brick's latest album in a magazine.
- Chris and Ian's Starsabers are basically knockoffs of lightsabers.
- Snowball's voice is inspired by Leslie Nielsen's portrayal of Dracula in Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
- Part of Master Quoker's design is modeled after a Black Mage from Final Fantasy.
- The Burton Night Club is named after film director Tim Burton, who's known for making plenty of gothic works.
Season 1
- In "How to Cook a VAMPIRE!", Ian forgets to add garlic to his vampire mixture and ends up with a vampire similar to Edward Cullen.
- In "STORY TIME!", the postcard that Cameraman Quarterbanks sent to Chris and Ian has the message "I'm on a boat" written on it.
- "1-800-MINIDIAL":
- When Ian answers a call from his mother, he says "Dunder Mifflin, this is Ian."
- When the troll runs away from Chris and Ian trying to beat him up, they say "Why do they always run?" and point out they stole it from Community.
- The cat-throwing martial artist from "The Splitzies 5000!!!" and his arch nemeses are thinly-veiled parodies of Goku, Nappa, and Vegeta.
- In "Season 1 Finale!", Human Ian says that Human Chris can't die because they haven't met Batman and don't know his alter ego.
Season 2
- "Season 2 Premiere!!!":
- Human Ian plays a video game on a Game Boy Advance twice in the episode.
- After Human Ian explains that Minilife TV is a Show Within a Show, Human Chris says to expect Inception jokes in the comments section of the video. Chris's minifigure counterpart doesn't get the reference.
- "A Dark Night":
- The film the gang watches is The Dark Knight Rises and there are people dressed in Batman-related costumes.
- Some of the movies listed outside the theater include Ice Era: Comedic Drift, Ziggy Stardust, and Fred.
- Michael doesn't have a Batman costume, so he wears a Waldo costume (minus the glasses) instead.
- When Michael says the movie is going to be the most awesome one of the year, Snowball brings up The Avengers (2012).
- When the gang is presented with a pre-movie trivia slide depicting a silhouette of a "lovable robot icon", Chris's guess is R2-D2, Ian's is WALL•E, and Michael's is Johnny Five.
- The guy the gang forces out of his seat turns out to be Bruce Banner when he Hulks out on Newbie after not being able to see the manager.
- In "Mime Support", when Tabatha and Larry see a movie, one of the movies listed outside the theater is LEGO Island.
- In "How I Got Your Laptops", Batman is among the people who cheer for Snowball to transform into a bat.
Season 3
Season 4
- "Clair's Surprise":
- Clair has a Wink-293 poster in her dormitory.
- The Rowling University of Magic that Clair accepts a scholarship from is named after J. K. Rowling, who's best known for creating Harry Potter.
- "The Semi-Finals":
- After Pockets is killed by a super death bomb, one civilian comments to a policeman who believes the death bomb caused its demise, "'Twasn't the death bomb, 'twas catnip killed the beast".
- Emmet Brickowski appears in The Stinger repairing the hole in the wall of the arena.
- The establishing shots of the Burton Night Club in "Snowball's Late Night Adventure" are a nod to the Mos Eisley Cantina scene from A New Hope.
- In "Baby Crotchrash Returns", when Abel asks Master Quoker how to defeat Baby Crotchrash, Master Quoker tells him "there are alternatives to fighting".
Season 5
- "Spirit in the Sky":
- A Funko Pop!-esque figure of Emmet Brickowski labeled "Construction Guy" can be seen in the Cool Topic and later in Chris's swag pile.
- Master Chief's helmet is one of the items in Chris's swag pile.
- "Baking Bran":
- Both parts are an homage to the series Breaking Bad.
- Detective Snap and Dumbleflor are thinly-veiled parodies of Severus Snape and Albus Dumbledore.
- The video game that Zach plays is similar to Super Smash Bros..
- In Part 1, Rick and Morty (or at least characters resembling them) can be seen walking past Squidtugo's Tight Treats.
- In Part 2, Archie is seen watching a hologram of a Daft Bots performance.
- Also in Part 2, Rey and BB-8 can be seen relaxing on Gilligan Beach.
- "Super Mini-Bros." is one big homage to the Super Mario Bros. games.
- Ratzer is modeled after Mouser in terms of design and how he's fought. As an added bonus, his stage is modeled after the Super Mario All-Stars version of Mouser's stage.
- Emery's magic paintings containing their own environments is a nod to Super Mario 64.
- "Dream Sequence (Again)":
- Vince dreams that he is Batman and Chris, Ian, and Zach are his Robins.
- Posters for The LEGO Movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad (2016) can be seen in Human Chris's room.
- In "Chris and Ian Shamelessly Promote Themselves", @midflight is a reference to the game show @Midnight.
- "The Vampodcast":
- Studs Linkin appears on a billboard in the city.
- The movie Chris, Ian, and Vince watch is Jurassic Parks and Recreation. Apparently, the Piece of Resistance is worked into the movie somehow.
- "The Party (Season Finale)":
- Chris's Spaceface page features a picture of Papa Brickolini with a caption reading "Where else you gonna party?".
- Forrest Whaley and Sean Willets show up to Chris and Ian's party dressed as Batman and Robin respectively. Also, blink and you'll miss it, but the "Batman slapping Robin" meme is recreated when they find out it's not a costume party.
- Commissioner Gordon as he appears in The LEGO Batman Movie can be seen among the party crowd.
- Keegan Kubrick shares his last name with film director Stanley Kubrick.
Minilife Chronicles
- "The Rose" continues with the Super Mario Bros. references, as Ratzer returns as a skeletal construct similar to a Dry Bones, and the iris at the end references Bowser's iris from Super Mario 64.
- In "The Armless Guy", one of the social media posts praising The Armless Guy's show comes from Nancy Nubbins.
- "The Vampire":
- The search engine Snowball uses on his phone is Ogel, which is not only a reference to Google, but also to a name that's appeared in both LEGO Alpha Team and LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge.
- The article about the ancient vampire artifact found in the Oni Region is published by Pippin Reed.
- In "The Program Coordinator", graffiti of Pepper Roni can be seen on the side of a building.
- "The Student and The Master" contains several references to Dragon Ball:
- The font of the title card is the same font used in the original anime.
- The PAN-AIR Taxi Ship is partially inspired by Frieza's ship.
- The Tremendous Toriyama is named after the manga artist Akira Toriyama.
- Master Quoker riding his scepter is directly inspired by Mercenary Tao riding a pillar.
