The FAITH trilogy likes to pepper in a lot of references to all sorts of media throughout the chapters.

    open/close all folders

    Chapter I
  • One of Michael's Black Speech lines is "I have the body of a pig!", a reference to an infamous hoax from 2007 where a paranormal investigation crew record audio of a later photographed creature saying that very phrase. Another line he occasionally utters is "Run! Run! Run!".
  • In one screen, you come across the body of a fox inside a pentagram. Interacting with it prompts a voice to say "CHAOS REIGNS.".
  • Despite the extremely low-res graphics, all but a few of the toys (the ones that just look like action figures) in the twins' bedroom are recognizable brand-name toys: A Simon, an Etch-a-Sketch, a Fisher-Price phone and vacuum cleaner, a Speak-and-Spell, and a View-Master.
  • The ending in which you shoot the deer notes that you were only able to retrieve 25 pounds of meat from it, a reference to a similar (and frustrating) limitation in Oregon Trail.
  • In one note John says he called for help while exorcising Amy, "but nobody came".

    Chapter II

    Chapter III
  • In the Chapter III Preview trailer, John sings the lyrics to "King of Pain" by The Police.
    • During John's Mushroom Samba after getting injected with a needle by Gary, multiple cutscenes appear to be direct references to the lyrics of "King of Pain" as well.
  • Exploring the city in the first day has a bunch of Easter Eggs:
    • It features the return of the Airdorf Truck.
    • A trio of grafitti on the wall show off White Face, W.D. Gaster, and Uboa.
    • The mushroom grafitti might be a reference to Vinesauce, as Vinny helped bring a lot of attention to the game (he's also thanked in the credits).
    • Yet another references frequent collaborator Torple Dook and his dog, who you might recognize from Chip's Tips.
    • Another graffiti is simply "T9", which is a reference to Twitch streamer Thafnine, also known as T9.
  • While investigating the childbirth clinic that Amy formerly worked in and then getting strapped to a hospital stretcher thanks to a demon. One of the markings on the curtains is none other than the infamous minimalist Loss.jpg.
  • When John explores the daycare center, many of the children's drawings have cheeky shout-outs in them.
    • One drawing talks about their "Uncle Earl", the name and the contents of the drawing reference "Earl's Day Off", another Airdorf game for the Fishing Horror Jam.
    • While another references "SUMMER NIGHT", another game made by Airdorf for the first Dread X Collection.
    • Another drawing is a robot that looks like V1 and if that wasn't enough said child is actually Arsi, as in Arsi "Hakita" Patala.
  • While wandering around the apartment using the camera flash as a light, John can come across a poster of Priest Cop, a concept discussed by Jesse Cox while he was Let's Playing Faith with his Scary Game Squad.
  • In the cultists' lair underneath the daycare, some cultists transform into the monster from Tonight it Follows, a short horror game made by Puppet Combo. They even kill John in the same manner said monster kills one of the characters; stretching out their arms to grab him, swallowing him up to his waist, chewing him for awhile and then spitting out his remains.
  • On October 30th, one day before the Profane Sabbath, if John walks to his neighbours' houses and looks through their windows, he will see some strange and disturbing images on their televisions, interspersed with static. Occasionally, Horace Horrible and The Skin-Taker, from the Candle Cove creepypasta, will appear.
  • While exploring a dark forest after entering the crucible, John can happen upon a cabin that previously belonged to Gary. Reading the note and looking at the picture on the desk reveals that Gary was actually friends with none other than Jakob from DUSK. If that wasn't enough, turns out the "pet" Jakob gave to Gary was one of "The Horror" enemies from said game with the pet actually attacking John after he leaves the cabin.
  • Choosing to go with Father Garcia in Ending II, has the duo recreate the iconic manly handshake from Predator.
  • The section in which you must put your cross (as it's your "most beloved thing") into the dumbwaiter leads to you finding a camera, and you must use its flash to light up a darkened basement, relying on that to navigate in order to get your crucifix back. The entire section seems to be a loving reference to Fatal Frame.

    Steam Achievements
Many achievements for the Steam version of the game have references to many songs' titles and lyrics. All helpfully pointed out by this video.
