Screams Like A Little Girl / Video Games

Go To

Rachel Alucard: What possible point is there to a ghost that isn't awake at night?
Ragna the Bloodedge: GHOST?! *shrieks*

  • In a rather Real Life-ish sense, unless you have Nerves of Steel, you will pretty much invoke this trope while playing any Survival Horror game.
  • Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood: Cesare Borgia of all people does this when Ezio hurls him off a rampart in Viana.
  • Booker DeWitt of BioShock Infinite does this whenever he is hit by a fire attack. To be fair, being burned really hurts.
  • BlazBlue: If you use the English voice, in Ragna's Gag Reel, after being informed that he's a ghost, the very thing he feared, he screams like a little girl. There's no girly scream in the Japanese voice, though.
  • Blood. Caleb screams like a little girl when he dies. Or is set on fire.
Caleb: AH! IT BURNS! AH AH AH AH AAAAAH!
  • Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair:
    • Kazuichi Souda does this a lot, since he gets freaked out at the at the slightest provocation.
    • In Chapter 1, Teruteru Hanamura does this when Hinata figures out that he's the culprit of the fake Togami's murder.
  • Alistair of Dragon Age: Origins confesses that he used to do this while dreaming of darkspawn and the Archdemon: "I screamed like a little girl. Duncan thought I had someone in my room." He also demonstrates girly screaming in a banter with Shale, attempting to give Shale an idea of what pain feels like.
  • Dragon's Lair. Dirk the Daring does this a number of times, but most noticeably in one "miss" sequence during the "Crypt Creeps" scene with what looks like black goo.
  • Baba from F-Zero is an effeminate male character who uses the female scream sound bite when falling off the track.
  • In Fire Emblem Gaiden's fully voiced 3DS remake Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Celica's friend Boey has a rather morbid fear of Terrors. He seems particularly frightened by the game's Necrodragon enemies and there are at least two instances where he lets out a high-pitched shriek when he's confronted by them.
  • The manager of the Sedgewick Hotel from Ghostbusters: The Video Game screams like this, which the Ghostbusters at first mistake for a woman. He does it whenever a ghost appears throughout the level, and eventually faints.
  • Grim Fandango:
Glottis: There was this one high-pitched whine it was making — really grating noise, you know? And I searched and searched, but I couldn't find the source of the noise, until we pulled in here.
    Velasco: Was it the blower?
Glottis: No, it was Manny screaming in the back like a cat tied to a cruise missile!
  • Garry from Ib screams this way— despite having no voice acting, the game's text blatantly describes the sounds of his screaming as "eeek!" or some variant thereof.
  • In Infinite Space, Ian apparently did this offscreen when he and Torlo evacuated Rhea (whom they thought dead until she suddenly moved). He is not pleased when Yuri and Torlo mock him about it.
  • Francis from Left 4 Dead will scream like this as well whenever he's pounced by a Hunter or attacked when downed. Kind of funny coming from a guy who exclaims a constant macho, "I hate _________"
  • Clive in LittleBigPlanet 2 does one in the level "Patients are a Virtue" where the shrubs reveal to be him which it isn't actually a Splash Canon only to cause him to scream like a girl.
  • Deadpool occasionally screams like this when hit in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
  • X's death scream in Mega Man X4, thanks to abysmal voice acting.
  • Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness does this three times:
    • In Episode 1, Gabe makes a girlish scream before beating on the fortune-telling machine.
    • In Episode 2, Gabe screams like a girl when he is locked inside the asylum.
    • Also in Episode 2, when Gabe, Tycho, and the player escape from the apartment, Tycho screams like a girl upon noticing that the building is crumbling down.
  • Disco Kid in Punch-Out!! for the Wii has a high pitched, unmanly yelp when he gets a Star Punch in the face. His normal speaking voice is about an octave deeper than the sound he makes after getting an uppercut to the jaw.
  • In Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Tee is spooked by Risukuma early on. The Unsound Effect says Tee gives an "uncharacteristically high-pitched shriek" as a reaction.
  • If someone smashes through their enemy's gate in Rock of Ages, the enemy commander inside the castle will emit a girly scream as they stare down the giant boulder. It's reasonable, given given what's about to follow.
  • Sam & Max: Freelance Police:
    Max: Mind if I drive?
Sam: Not if you don't mind me clawing at the dash and shrieking like a cheerleader.
    • Also, in the first episode of the second season, Bosco screams like this in response to the word them. Sam even gets a dialogue option to repeatedly say "Them!" just to freak him out. Admittedly, Bosco has a very good reason to freak out, as we learn in the last episode of the season.
  • Downplayed with Murphy, from Silent Hill: Downpour. His normal voice pitch can be heard in most of his "hurt" screams, and while his voice cracks really hard on certain circumstances, the cracking is much more characteristic of a man up to his nostrils in adrenaline due to terror and pain. Said circumstances? Desperately running away from an all-consuming red and black distortion of reality that rips flakes off his body if it gets too close.
  • Skylanders, both from Kaos:
    • In Skylanders: SWAP Force, where a bunch of crystalized crystal is falling on him, leading him to transform into Super Evil Kaos.
    • In Skylanders: Trap Team je shrieks in the cutscene that plays after you've cleared the Time Town level, when a character who mentions travelling into the future pulls out a large watch. To be fair, he did spend most of that level stuck to a cog wheel in the clock tower.
  • Elh of Solatorobo hates bugs and screams when they get too close. Of course, given that she is a girl, it's more understandable, but Red didn't know that at the time.
  • Punch out Ash in Streets of Rage and you learn he has the female death cry.
  • Team Fortress 2
    • In "Meet the Sandvich", the Scout screams like a little girl in the ending, thanks to the Heavy having punched out all his blood. Played for laughs, of course.
    • In the Halloween event maps, getting spooked by either the Horseless Headless Horsemann or Zepheniah Mann's ghost will result in very unmanly screaming regardless of class.
    • During the ending of "Meet the Pyro", BLU Sniper screams like a girl as Pyro puts him out of his misery.
    • In "The Sound of Medicine," RED Scout screams like a terrified strangled bird upon spotting a Tank Robot and waves of Soldier-Bots.
    • But all of these pale in comparison to the scream that Scout lets out when he gets roared at by a yeti in "Jungle Inferno".
  • Any of the dinos in Trog, should they fall off the edge of the island.
