Talon is a upcoming animated fantasy action web series co-written by Heather Parra and Deirdre Brenner.
The series will follow Talon, a young Dakotaraptor who was born with magical powers. After her mother dies while protecting her from T-rex, Talon teams up with Alistar, an alien wizard and warrior to find other dinosaurs born with magical powers like her to save the Universe from a race of tyrannical aliens.

- Big Bad Ensemble: So far, the Admiral Kaialorn and his empire alongside with Apex the T. rex are shaping their way as the series main villains.

- Big Sister Bully: In the trailer, Talon says that her sister Razer "hated her magic from the beginning".

- Disappeared Dad: So far, we don't know about whereabouts of Talon's and Razer's father.

- Dragons Are Demonic: Combined with Aliens Are Bastards. The Vair’un Empire are a race of ruthless dragons from outer space.
- The Empire: Vair’un Empire are ruthless empire of alien dragons who want to conquer the Universe.
- Feathered Fiend: Apex the T. Rex has feathered mane on his head and neck.
- Gender-Blender Name: It's easy to mistook Talon and Razer for boys, due to them having masculine sounding names. It seems like Dakotaraptors (or raptors in general) in this series have names related (in one way, or another) to their sharp claws.
- Good Scars, Evil Scars: Apex has his body covered in huge scars, while Talon's mom has three small scars on her snout.
- Green Thumb: The teaser trailer shows Oloro the Olorotitan growing trees by stomping on the ground.
- Kid Hero: All members of Talon's team are young children.
- Making a Splash: Mosa the Mosasaurus was born with water-manipulation, as shown in the teaser trailer when he creates water tornado.
- Mama Bear: In the teaser trailer, Talon's and Razer mother protects them from Apex. This unfortunately results in her death.
- Meaningful Name:
- Talon has her name due to the fact that raptor's claws are on their talons.
- Volc's name are the first four letters of a word "volcano", befitting someone who has control over magma. Naturally, his reveal image has him standing behind a volcano background.
- Apex the T. rex has his name - well, you guessed it - due to being a apex predator.
- Droma (Talon and Razer mom) has name related to the dinosaur order her species (Dakotaraptor) belongs to - dromeosaurs.
- Mixed Animal Species Team: Talon's team is composed of herself (a Dakotaraptor), Kota (Alamosaurus), Rham (Triceratops), Gar (Ankylosaurus), Oloro (Olorotitan), Avy (Pteranodon) Mosa (Mosasaurus), Vetra (Tyrannosaurus rex) and Luck (Purgatorius).
- Never Smile at a Crocodile: According to the creators, Lockjaw the Deinosuchus will be a prominent antagonist throughout the series.
- Playing with Fire:
- Volc the Allosaurus is the Master of Lava, and his reveal photo has him manipulating fire with his tail.
- Rham the Triceratops was born with fire powers. As shown in the teaser, he is able to breathe fire like a dragon.
- Punny Name:
- Rham's name is a pun on "ramming", which is hilarious given that Rham is Triceratops, a dinosaur famous for charging at its opponents.
- Razer's name is a pun on "razor", and she - as a raptor - has razor claws.
- Raptor Attack: Averted, both anatomically and behaviorally. Not only Dakotaraptors are correctly feathered, but Talon averts "dromaeosaurs are evil and violent" stereotype by being a All-Loving Heroine, while her mother could essentialy be considered Littlefoot's mother if she was a raptor.
- Shock and Awe: Fury the Spinosaurus is the Lightning Master and is able to create lightning from her body and is capable of summoning thunderstorms.
- Shout-Out:
- Talon's mom seems to be inspired by Littlefoot's mother, and just like her she ends up costing her life to save her children from a T.rex.
- The show's setting of having prehistoric animals from different time periods and continents living next to each other seems similar to Dinosaur, The Land Before Time and Ice Age who have the same generalized generic prehistoric setting.
- Terrifying Tyrannosaur: Apex the Tyrannosaurus rex establishes his status as a series antagonist by killing Talon's mom. Averted with Vetra, a young female T. rex around Talon's age who joins her group.
- Token Flier: Avy the Pteranodon is the only pterosaur in Talon's group, so this trope obviously applies to her.
- Token Human: Downplayed with Alistar: he isn't human, but a navy skinned space elf, but considering the other aliens we see are anthropomorphic dragons while the rest of the cast are dinosaurs, we could say that he qualifies as the one.
- Token Minority: Avy the Pteranodon, Mosa the Mosasaurus and Luck the Purgatorius are only members of Talon' group that aren't dinosaurs, in Mosa's case archosaurs, while in Luck's case, reptiles.
