Both new and old relationships are questioned and the twins embark on their emotional journey; the twins discover that their parents have left them no money to survive, and leave for a place overseas, hoping to find happiness elsewhere.

- Anguished Declaration of Love:
- Kozue delivers one to Haruka in her "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
- Also, Haruka and Sora deliver one to each other after surviving their near-death experience.
- Attempted Rape: When Sora tries to give Haruka a kiss, Haruka pulls away, but only for a moment before, suddenly, forcing himself on Sora.
- Big "NO!": Kozue does this after finding out about Haruka and Sora's relationship. Considering how this was framed in the anime, it may also overlap with The Scream.
- Bittersweet Ending: Haruka and Sora survive and have moved to a Scandinavian country to be with one another. But they have to bid goodbye to all their friends they knew.
- Broken Pedestal: In Sora's arc in the anime, Kozue's crush on Haruka pretty much ends after she caught him and Sora having sex. The next day, she practically yells at him that his relationship with Sora is wrong as a human being and that she will never want to talk to him again.
- Coitus Uninterruptus: Haruka and Sora after getting caught by Kozue and Nao.
- Come Back to Bed, Honey: After Nao and Kozue leave, Sora doesn't care about the repercussions this could have on Haru and immediately tries to goad him back into sex while he continues to sit there in utter shock and dismay.
- Dramatically Missing the Point: Sora doesn’t understand why siblings can’t kiss or have sex. She doesn’t care what other people think of them – she just wants to be with Haru.
- Driven to Suicide: After learning that Haruka plans to separate him and Sora so as to stop their incest, Sora trashes her room and leaves a suicide note for Haruka in his phone for him.
- Foreshadowing: For a split second, the twins were drowning in a lake all Super-Deformed in the opening title sequence. During Sora's arc, they do nearly drown in the lake.
- Easily Forgiven: Even after the cheating and the incest, Nao forgives Haruka and helps him locate Sora when she goes missing.
- Fan Disservice: Haruka grabbing Sora by the face, shoving her to the floor, ripping off the top of her dress and licking her breasts.
- Freudian Excuse: Haruka delivers one to Nao after being caught in his incestuous relationship with Sora.
Haruka: (to Nao) We were separated for a long time... The Sora who returned was not the sister I knew. She became a delicate girl that I had never seen before... Made my heart race. Many things happened. And every time they passed, I saw her as a girl. She is not honest. That's why every time she leaned on me... Made my heart race. Made me want to protect her.
Nao: (turns to face him for what he just said)
Haruka: But she is my sister! She is my sister so I kept thinking that doing something else would be wrong. So after two summers I found love in someone else. I tried to turn it into true love...but things didn't turn out very well. Even so, I tried to continue. Nao-chan, I hurt you. I am so sorry.
- Gilligan Cut: After Haruka tells Sora that they may have to be separated from one another to live happier lives with their relatives, Sora calmly exits the kitchen and the next shot shows the kitchen table to be a wreck from Sora's angry reaction.
- If I Can't Have You…: After being told they'll be separated, Sora goes to a lake to drown herself rather than live without Haruka.
- Kiss Diss: When Sora tries to feed Haruka whatever slop she piled together for dinner, she finds him sulking in his room, tries to get him to kiss her and he turns his head away from her.
- Last Girl Wins: Sora, of all people, is the last girl to win Haruka's heart.
- Love at First Sight: Flashbacks imply that Haruka fell in love with Sora the moment he saw her return home from the hospital. Due to being ashamed of his taboo feelings towards her, he repressed those feelings for the next four years.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Haruka, after being caught having sex with Sora by Nao and Kozue. And again, after attempting to once again have sex with Sora before the reality hits him.
- "Not If They Enjoyed It" Rationalization: Sora is initially panicked by Haruka forcing himself on her, but she quickly chills out because who cares if it’s attempted rape as long as it’s Haru-kun? She even says to him: “I don’t mind if you mess me up. If you want to, Haru, you can.”.

- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: There is one point where Haruka shouts at Sora. The equivalent scene in the anime portrays him striking her in the face hard enough to knock her to the floor. Made even more pronounced by the fact that it was extremely out of character for Haruka to do this.
- Only Sane Man: Kozue seems to be the only one aware of the Kasugano twins relationship and believes how wrong their relationship is.
- Sex for Solace: After Nao breaks up with him for good, Haruka attempts to have sex with Sora to deal with his emotions. He stops halfway when his conscience finally gets to him.
- Screaming at Squick: Kozue's reaction to the Kasugano twins ' incestuous relationship.
- Sick and Wrong: Haruka realizes this and starts crying after attempting to have sex with Sora again, telling her that what they're doing is wrong and that they should stop kissing and sex and everything.
