Tropes:

  • All for Nothing: Despite the fact that Tori, her sister and her friends go through a lot of pain and suffering from the show, Tori’s team does not win the prize money because of the last challenge. The host has a large man laying on top of her and her desperately grabbing for the money.
  • Angry Collar Grab: Jade does this when demanding Tori that she put her on her Brain Squeezers team, which she complains about.
    Tori: You're scrunching my shirt!
  • Artistic License: Gameshows. In real life such a show like Brain Squeezers would not be allowed to even air or start filming as the doinks could majorly injure or kill the players. For reference:

    • Dropping nuts and bolts and batteries would probably be fatal (revealed from Trina and André).
    • A toilet dropped or a car battery on you would have cause a head trauma or concussion (revealed from Sinjin and Jade).
    • Using a bowling ball to hit on a gut could have been dangerous through badly broken ribs or not being able to walk again.
    • Dropping salt onto someone would lead to blindness if any gets into the eyes.
    • A game show should not use pus because it would lead to sores on the body.
    • Getting punched that hard on the chin can cause you to break your neck (from it snapping back).
    • A toilet being dropped to Sinjin's head could either kill him or lead to permanent damages.
  • Ash Face: Cat is shown with this from an offscreen doink.
  • Big "NO!": Cat does this when Tori picks her to answer a question for the first time.
  • Blowing a Raspberry: In the beginning of the episode, when Tori asks for a fry, Jade does this trope right in front of the french fries in order to deter Tori from eating them.
  • The Cameo: Rikishi makes a guest appearance.
  • Chekhov's Skill: To prepare herself in case she ends up on the game show, Cat brags to Tori that she is memorizing facts about U.S. states. And near the end of the episode, when both teams are tied, Tori's team is asked a question involving said subject. Cat gets picked to answer, causing them to win.
  • Crocodile Tears: In an attempt to manipulate Tori into including her on Brain Squeezers, Jade comes to her house while fake crying, stating that she needs money to bail her aunt out of jail. Tori at first seems to be fooled, but then turns out to have seen through her lies.
Tori: Listen, why don't we bring your Aunt Susan over here, and then I'll put on some heavy shoes, and then I'll jump up and down on her face.
Jade: (stops acting sad) You insensitive witch!
    Tori: You liar!
  • Downer Ending: Tori's team wins the cash, but with a catch. A sumo (played by Rikishi, no less.) sits on Tori and pins her to the ground while she has ten seconds to make a scramble for the cash. She fails to get the money.
  • Eye Scream: Robbie's first doink involves him getting pus blasted in his face, and some of it noticeably gets in his right eye, which he later complains that he can't see out of it.
  • Insane Troll Logic: On Robbie's first turn at answering a question, he is asked how many toes are on a camel's hoofnote . He replies that he has never counted a camel's toe before, but his grandpa has five toes on his foot, so he will give his answer as five. Unsurprisingly, Robbie's answer was wrong.
  • It's All About Me: Trina, as usual, eggs on her sister to include her on the Brain Squeezers team, and even suggests a team formation involving her and not even Tori (the team captain).
Trina: Team option A: You, me, Andre, Robbie.
    Tori: I wanna hurt you.
Trina: Team option B: Me, Andre, Beck, Sinjin.
Tori: I'm not even on that team!
  • Lampshade Hanging: After Jade has batteries dumped on her head, Robbie sums up the gameshow nicely by saying "That's borderline dangerous!"
  • Misplaced Retribution: Jade gets a wrong answer, which results in a double doink, part of which involves batteries dropped onto her. However, when it comes to that part, Andre gets a headful of batteries.
  • Not in the Face!: Trina gets her first wrong answer, which results in a doink. Since she just saw what happens to Robbie, Trina desperately says this trope. It does not result in her getting a faceful, but instead results in nuts and bolts poured onto the top of her head.
  • Pie in the Face: Tori gets fed up with Trina begging her to put her on her team, so she asks her to come closer to her, and then takes the slice of pie that she was eating and smushes it on her face. This causes Trina to retaliate by biting Tori's ear.
  • Reverse Psychology: All of Tori's friends keep asking her to bring them with her to play on Brain Squeezers, except for Beck, who acts nonchalant about it. Tori catches on and accuses him of doing this, that he is just acting this way to fool her, making her want to ask him. Beck at first denies this, pretending to be insulted, but then he asks her if he can be on her team.
  • Secretly Selfish: In hopes to get in Tori's good graces so he can be on her team, Robbie cleans the front of her locker, and also gives her $20. Tori tells him that she's not promising to put him on her team because of this, causing Robbie to take back the money and then use dirt from his shirt pocket to make her locker dirty.
  • Tar and Feathers: Trina has this from getting doinked offscreen.
