The 40th episode and Part 6 of 'Necrosan-The Final Challenge'.
After quite an encounter with the malign Nyarlathotep, Necrosan has gained the Necronominicon. With his minions in tow, he enters the Nightosphere and absorbs all the souls around him with a spell from the book. With that, he becomes the monstrous Sin and he kills Hunston as well, absorbing his soul. He then betrays his minions (leaving Titan for dead only) and he goes to slaughter everyone in the Candy Kingdom. After some chaos, the Team is notified and they rush to stop him. Z-Squared, Finn, Marceline, and Tafeli are fist sent and they witness the evil of Sin. They escape to the Holo-World and the rest of the team joins them. A massive battle occurs and the team is victorious.
Or not. Sin unleashes his true power and kills the entire team (sans Sir, who runs off, Tafeli, who was ordered to go back, and Z-Squared, read on). Z-Squared is left at the dragon's mercy...
- A God Am I: Necrosan definitely has this attitude when he becomes Sin.
- Bearer of Bad News: Manfried, as always. Only the news is significantly more worse than he has ever delivered.
- Black Comedy: One of Sin's features throughout.
- Black Magic: Necrosan uses this from the Necronominicon to become Sin. This involves absorbing the souls of all in the Nightosphere.
- Bullying a Dragon: Any insult towards Sin, in the literal and figurative sense. And really, King of Ooo? Have you learned NOTHING from the Lich?
- Chase Scene: Brief ones occur when Sin chases Cayon's motorcycle and when he chases Z-Squared's team into the portal leading to the Holo-World.
- Combination Attack: Everybody fires their beam weapons at Sin, seemingly killing him.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Sin does this with the team at the end in quite a fatal way.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Sin subjects Titan's minions to this. Dementia is entrapped by a plant (that either suffocates or devours her), Rep-Stallion is encased in rock, Mysterious is turned into a tornado (which tears him apart molecule by molecule), Eru decays into a mindless skeleton, and the rest of Sin's victims are absorbed into his being.
- Twilight and Mothra are hacked into pieces by Sin's razor discs. And that's just one of the various means he uses to kill off the team!
- Dirty Coward: Sir retreats upon seeing how powerful Sin has got. The King of Ooo also does this, but really? What could he have done?
- Know When to Fold 'Em: Could be an example of this for both.
- Doomed Hometown: To any characters involved with Adventure Time, the Candy Kingdom becomes this.
- Downer Ending: Just TRY listing anything positive from this story after reading all this. Just TRY.
- Dwindling Party: The Review Team is killed off like this. Only faster. And much more violent.
- Eaten Alive: Technically, everyone who dies at Sin's hand is absorbed into him, warranting this. However, The King of Ooo and especially Princess Bubblegum get a version involving a bit more TEETH.
- Swallowed Whole: Canyon gets this. Oh, GOD.
- Eldritch Location: Considering the Void from TAWOG is run by freaking NYARLATHOTEP...
- In fact, the world of 'Over the Garden Wall' takes place in the very same location! That would explain a lot.
- Forced to Watch: Z-Squared, Marceline, Finn, and Tafeli are subjected to watching Jake get absorbed and Princess Bubblegum being torn apart (before being absorbed).
- Half the Man He Used to Be: Mr. Freeze and Megatron get this from Sin.
- Horrifying the Horror: Nyarlathotep already had a streak of doing this. Satan is even on the list. Necrosan is especially unnerved by the Void.
- I Have You Now, My Pretty: With just one aside glance to Bubblegum, Sin makes his intentions towards her look...even MORE less appealing. The fact he just engaged in a perverse way of killing Canyon makes this much worse!
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: HIM is impaled by Sin's spear-like legs.
- Fluttershy is stabbed in the spine by Sin's tail later on.
- Kick the Dog: Sin starts doing this like mad when he arrives.
- Last Stand: HIM performs this with Sin to protect the others.
- Literally Shattered Lives: Rattleballs is crushed in Sin's palm.
- Manly Tears: Titan lets a few out when he's left alone.
- Minor Major Character: Nyarlathotep, the main characters of 'Over the Garden Wall' (who meet Necrosan for a moment. Yes, they are STILL traveling through the area), and pretty much anyone in the Candy Kingdom at the moment.
- Murder by Cremation: Marceline by Sin's fires. Also, Peppermint Butler by his chest laser.
- Mustache Vandalism: Marceline does this with a picture of Lucifer to vent.
- Neck Snap: Basil suffers this by Sin's jaws.
- Off with His Head!: Finn is decapitated offhandedly by Sin. All the while, he's biting Discord's head off!
- "Open!" Says Me: Titan does this with Hunston's gates. Geez, again?
- Out of the Inferno: Not only on the cover, but Sin does this when chasing the team that was sent.
- Rousing Speech / You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Z-Squared gives one to Marceline. He even starts to go a bit overboard, but she gets the message.
- Screw Destiny: This is even thrown in.
- Sawed-Off Shotgun: Canyon has one that fires rocks.
- Ship Tease: Done again with Z-Squared and Marceline.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Nyarlathotep shows up for a short while, but considering his position in this canon AND the fact he give Necrosan the Necronominicon, the trope applies.
- Speak of the Devil: Ironically, it's the son of the Devil. Lucifer's name is enough to upset Marceline. And pretty much everybody who knows him, actually.
- Never Say That Again: Doubles as this.
- Suddenly Shouting: Sir does this as he tells everyone the Candy Kingdom is in danger.
- Theme Music Power-Up: Necrosan's transformation theme is electronic and menacing. It's the 'Vegetrunks' theme from Saiyan Enigma.
- Tome of Eldritch Lore: The Necronominicon. Duh!
- Torso with a View: Godzilla receives this from Sin before he disintegrates.
- Transformation Sequence: Necrosan has one when he turns into Sin. It's a bit freaky.
- Villainous Breakdown: Sin has one when it looks like he'll lose.
- Void Between the Worlds: The Void. Obviously.
- Vorpal Pillow: Marceline does this post Lucifer speech.
- Watching Troy Burn: For anyone unfortunate to watch the destruction of the Candy Kingdom.
- Waxing Lyrical: 'London Bridge is Falling Down' at one point during the report.
- When Trees Attack: An ugly plant is summoned by Sin to entrap/devour Dementia. It works.
- Women Drivers: Sin claims that women can't drive in one of his jokes. Jerk.
- You Bastard!: Sin gets this a lot. Even from Titan.
- You Have Failed Me / You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Sin takes this to the extreme with Titan and his minions.
