Once All Contestants Have Thrown A Shoe, The Tallest Toilet Roll Tower Wins.^note none of the contestants were able to knock over any tower so the ranking order goes by tower height initially built

Episode 2 - "Heat Stroke"

• Task 1: Float This Brussels Sprout Down From The Balcony. Longest Float Time Wins.
  • Winner: Laura - 74 days 3 hours 28 minutes as of studio recording^note taped her brussel sprout to a rubber duck floating in a bucket hung from the balcony railing, it remained there for the rest of filming and afterwards (5 points)
  • Guy - 3 days 22 hours 27 minutes^note floated his brussel sprout in a pot of water which was later thrown out by David in task 3, unaware it was someone else's task attempt (4 points)
  • David - 12 hours^note  An assumption Paul made based on the documented float time of helium balloons he attached to the brussel sprout (3 points)

• Task 2: Transform This Room When The Lights Go Out. You Will Have 30 Seconds Of Darkness. Most Spectacular Transformation Wins. Your Time Starts When You Say: "Let There Be Dark."
  • Winner: Laura - a night club while she performed as "DJ Assmaster" (5 points)
  • Urzila - the deepest recesses of her mind, where Paul pole dances in a bar (4 points)
  • Guy - a farm with Paul and some crew members dressed as a cow and sheep respectively (3 points)
  • Matt - a circus, with himself as an acrobat and Paul as a juggler (2 points)
  • David - stripped naked in a blind panic to change the vibe of the lab (1 point)^note A genuine mistake led to the lighting guy turning the lights off before David could prepare. He also only had 12 seconds before the lights went back on, meaning he had less than half the time of the other contestants. When informed about the error, David decided to use this as his official attempt.

• Task 3: Squirt The Sunscreen The Furthest. You Have One Attempt.^note Contestants were required to squirt from the plinth provided and onto the tarp to count as their attempt^Also...This was originally filmed as a tiebreaker, but the results were so outlandish that it was presented as a normal task

  • Matt - a lunchbox full of dirt taken from the Waitakere Kiwi Rescue Centre which may have kiwi leavings in it (4 points)
  • Guy Montgomery - a cushion depicting New Zealand and its initials (3 points)
  • Urzila - an old rugby ball from Fielding (2 points)
  • David - a bag of feijoas, which are actually native to South America (1 point)

• Task 1: Star In A One-Minute Multi-Character Film. You Must Play All The Characters. Each Character Must Be Distinctive. Most Characters Wins.
  • Winner: David - 19 characters, a PSA about drink-driving using inanimate objects^note two characters were discounted since there were three similar-looking bronze orbs (5 points)
  • Guy - 18 characters, a race between national stereotypes with their wives watching from the stands (4 points)^note Prompted a discussion over the unfortunate implications of an international event only featuring White characters, leading Guy to point out that his attempting to play other races would have been worse
  • Laura - 17 characters, a murder mystery where the perpetrator turns out to be the Taskmaster (3 points)
  • Matt - 10 characters, a condensed slasher film about a cling-film masked man going on a rampage at the second annual "smoking-weed-in-the-bush" party before being stopped by Detective Reginald Bathgate (2 points)
  • Urzila - 3 characters, a drama piece called "Sherry's Salon" which lasted 14 minutes (1 point)

• Task 2: Team Task - Build A Castle Out Of Wheat Biscuits. You May Not Leave The Room. For Every Dry Wheat Biscuit You Eat, You Will Be Given 15/7 Additional Wheat Biscuits^note The team of two received 15 while the team of three received 7 to take the difference in numbers into account. Grandest Castle Wins.
  • Winner: David, Guy, and Laura (2 points)
  • Matt and Urzila (Disqualified)^note Matt was caught hiding half-eaten Weet-Bix in his pockets. Had he not, they would have received 5 points for their superior castle

• Task 3: Hop The Scotch Along The Hopscotch And Pop It In The Pail. Most Scotch Popped In The Pail Wins.
  • Winner: Matt - 4.32 litres (5 points)
  • Guy - 4.14 litres (4 points)
  • David - 3.36 litres (3 points)
  • Laura - 3.12 litres (2 points)^note also drank seven shots and revealed in the studio that she'd already had half a bottle of wine whilst performing another task prior to this one

• Task 4: Get A Photo Of A Person In The Most Extraordinary Location. The Person Must Be Doing A Thumbs-Up With One Hand, Pointing To Their Thumbs-Up With Their Other Hand, And Wearing A Bowl On Their Head. Most Extraordinary Photo Wins.
  • Winner: David - himself skydiving with his friend, who was wearing the bowl on top of his helmet (5 points)
  • Matt - himself in the Taskmaster's bedroom whilst the Taskmaster was in bed asleep^note The Taskmaster had been out celebrating with friends and was so drunk that he didn't notice the intrusion (4 points)

    • Guy - photoshopped himself into the crowd watching John F. Kennedy's motorcade in Dallas, Texas
    • Laura - a healthcare worker distributing COVID-19 vaccines in the US

  • Matt - the Top Town^note A game show where teams from NZ towns competed in obstacle courses trophy out of TVNZ storage (3 points)
  • Guy - a Victoria Cross^note the highest award for valour in many Commonwealth honours systems. Guy declined to say whose medal it is to avoid getting in trouble. (2 points)
  • David - the shoe rack from his flat^note And shared annoyed messages from his flatmates (1 point)

• Task 1: Get The Swiss Ball In The Kayak. You Cannot Get Wet. Fastest Wins.

• Task 1: Spill The beans. Fastest To Open The Can Of Beans Wins.^note It's not as easy as it sounds since 144 out of the 145 provided "baked beans" tins are actually canned tomatoes. A portion of the tins had red-coloured bottoms and were arranged such that they formed an arrow when viewed from the floor through the (glass) table, pointing at the bean tin. Furthermore, the 144 decoy tins were labelled as "beans" while the actual bean tin was labelled "not beans."
  • Winner: Guy - 5 mins 35 seconds (5 points)
  • Matt - 6 mins 41 seconds (4 points)^note Quickly spotted the can marked "Not Beans" but came second because he spent a long time chatting with Paul before actually doing the task
  • Urzila - 9 mins 52 seconds (3 points)

• Task 2: Make Your Hometown Proud. Biggest Home Hero Wins.
  • Winner: Laura - Palmerston North (5 points)^note Created a recruitment video for the "Palmy Army" to defend her hometown's honour against disparaging comments made by John Cleese.
  • Urzila - Benoni (Gauteng, South Africa) (4 points)^note "Moved" her hometown from South Africa to the Mediterranean and made it much larger on a map and recited a poem to "lift" Benoni's spirit. The Taskmaster found the poem to be of even poorer quality than Urzila's Christmas song from the previous episode.
  • Matt - Dunedin (3 points)^note Sang a song about Dunedin while he and Paul wore picnic blankets like kilts and Paul "played" makeshift bagpipes fashioned out of a large sprayer and a recorder (to reflect the town's Scottish roots). His attempt was ranked lower by the Taskmaster because Matt somehow forgot that he was born in Oxford, England, and not actually from Dunedin.
  • Guy - Christchurch (2 points)^note Turned the caravan into a museum dedicated to Christchurch, but did such an unenthusiastic job that the Taskmaster asked if he even liked his hometown.
  • David - Christchurch (1 point)^note Booked himself and Paul flights to Christchurch, but the photos showed that the trip amounted to a day spent in malls and cinemas that Paul didn't seem to enjoy very much.

• Task 3: Team Task - Make The Loudest Noise. You May Not Use Your Voice Either During Your Noise Or Your Preparation. You Must Salute Paul For Five Seconds Before And After Making Your Noise.
  • Winner: Matt and Urzila (3 points)
  • David, Guy and Laura (1 point)^note despite making the loudest sound, points were deducted when David accidentally shouted during preparation

• Live Task: In Order From Left To Right, Select Your Weapon. then In Order From Right To Left, Select Your Snack. Then Taking Turns, Use your Weapon To Slice Your Snack In Twain. You Each Have Ten Seconds To Make Your Slice. Most Perfectly Halved Snack Wins.

  • Winner: Guy - 1161 items (5 points)^note two items were discarded since he wasn't sitting down when throwing them

  • Winner: Laura (5 points)^note Her costume looked more like Osama Bin Laden than Lincoln, but Laura pointed out that the task was about who arrived first in costume rather than the accuracy
  • Guy (4 points)^note Guy and David had lunch together just before the text message arrived. They ended up buying identical costumes from the same shop and appeared in the same call

Episode 7 - "Completing The Set"

• Prize Task: The Biggest Bargain
  • Winner: Laura - 50 billion Zimbabwean Dollars, which she paid 20 New Zealand Dollars for^note The Taskmaster's Assistant pointed out in the studio that 50 billion Zimbabwean Dollars is only worth around 37 New Zealand Cents (5 points)
  • Urzila - staff discount card from Briscoes Homeware (4 points)
  • David - 50 New Zealand Dollars, which he intends to give to the episode's winner in exchange for 50 cents^note The Taskmaster noted that he could have offered 100 dollars for ten cents for an even bigger bargain while Guy pointed out that the bargain would become moot because the winner would receive the cash outright at the end (3 points)
  • Matt - 200 copies of The Shape of Grunge to Come..., the third release by Deja Voodoo, his band, which sold poorly (2 points)
  • Guy - a bottle opener he bought for 120 dollars, arguing that he saw bottle openers being sold for higher amounts (1 point)

• Task 1: Construct The Least Appropriate Wedding Cake
  • Winner: Matt - made a cake out of mud/sewage from the Taskmaster Pond, topped with nappies and toilet paper to illustrate how life after marriage becomes an endless chore of cleaning after children (5 points)
  • David, Guy and Laura (3 points)
    • David - sponge cake filled with a large amount of chili powder and soy sauce topped with a sign reading "Syphilis".
    • Guy - cake shaped like cock and balls bearing the words "I Fucked Your Dad" so that the groom can confess to the bride
    • Laura - a mound of cake covered in cream (despite the bride being lactose intolerant) and shaped like a heart with "Sorry" written on top because the groom ran off with a bridesmaid^note she also encouraged a male member of the crew to "American Pie" the cake
  • Urzila - cake shaped to represent a bloody bowel movement (2 points)^note scored lower because it reminded the Taskmaster of an anal fissure he recently experienced

• Task 2: Eat The Grape. You Cannot Damage The Caravan. Fastest Wins.^note The contestants were locked in the caravan. They were supposed to follow a string of clues that would lead them to a burner phone and ten dollars hidden within the caravan. The phone allowed them to dial a helpline that prompted them to pay Paul with the cash for a key to open the lock on the caravan door.
  • Winner: Laura - 16 minutes 6 seconds (5 points)
  • Urzila - 29 minutes 59 seconds (4 points)^note Used the cash in the caravan to pay for a clue and had to pay for the key using her personal credit card
  • Guy - 32 minutes 1 second (3 points)
  • Matt - 47 minutes 54 seconds (2 points)
  • David - 1 hours 23 minutes (1 point)^note The longest task attempt for Taskmaster NZ thus far, with David even taking 19 minutes just to spot the grape. Also, he only found $9.90 and had to pay the remaining ten cents via bank transfer.

• Task 3: Make The Most Extreme Cup Of Tea And Serve It To Paul
  • Winner: David - hung upside down off a rafter to make Paul his tea (5 points)
  • Urzila - made "tea" out of chili powder and chili flakes, which caused Paul's stomach to audibly gurgle due to the amount of spice (4 points)
  • Matt - "bungee-d" a teabag into a mug from the Taskmaster House's balcony (3 points)
  • Guy and Laura (2 points)
    • Guy - made and served a cup of tea while moving non-stop on a bicycle
    • Laura - had Paul bicycle back and forth beneath the Taskmaster House's balcony while she tried pouring iced tea into his cup

• Live Task: Survive Lemonade Roulette. The Taskmaster Will Vigorously Shake One Bottle Of Lemonade. You Must Then Open One Of The Two Bottles Within Five Seconds. Neither team won the team task in episode 3; David, Guy, and Laura received 2 points and the other team was disqualified. Laura was assigned a secret task to sabotage her teammates in episode 8 and so competed against them for points - had her team lost that task, she would have earned points instead.

Episode Titles

Each episode is a Title Drop made by either a participant in the show, the Taskmaster, or the Taskmaster's Assistant. In this series, the titles were provided by:

• Episode 1 - Urzila Carlson (when criticising Laura and Guy's use of special effects to fly and defending herself and Matt: Sorry, I don't want to interrupt your flight of fantasy here, but we actually flew.")
• Episode 2 - Laura Daniel (in response to the Taskmaster sharing that his 91-year-old grandmother passed away one month after seeing a billboard with a nude photoshoot advertisement of him: "She died of heat stroke.")
• Episode 3 - Matt Heath (a line from the final character in Matt's multi-character short film: "Detective Reginald Bathgate, at your service.")
• Episode 4 - Matt Heath (pointing to David that his disastrous attempt at getting the Swiss ball into the kayak could have been made simpler instead of stabbing it with scissors: "There's a bung, you moron! Unbung!")
• Episode 5 - Urzila Carlson (while taking her frustration out on the Taskmaster's Assistant at the end of the bean tin task in a low, calm voice: "Come feel my bean, Paul.")
• Episode 6 - Matt Heath (the refrain of Matt and Urzila's diss track, which the former mistook for an insult rather than its sexual meaning: "There's just two of us / they needed three of youse / You're coming last / We're gonna eat your asses")
