    Volume 1 (1972-1976) 
Where it all began.note 

    Volume 2 (1982-1996) 
A relaunch of the title in the wake of the first film adaptation. Contains the definitive Alan Moore run of Issues 20-64.

Issues 1-30 are titled The Saga of the Swamp Thing.

Issues 129-171 were issued under the Vertigo imprint and as such no longer officially took place within mainstream DCU continuity.

Uniquely within the franchise, the main character is Swamp Thing's daughter, Tefé Holland. A Vertigo Comics title.

    Volume 4 (2004-2006) 
Swamp Thing returns to protagonist status with this series. A Vertigo Comics title.

    Volume 5 (2011-2015) 
A New 52 reboot, returning the character to the mainstream DCU.
