When the Warden is taken to another dimension by the Time Police, Superjail is forced to close.

"Time-Police: Part 2" contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parents: The Prison Mogul (The Warden's father) is revealed to be one, berating his son to tears over his ridiculous ideas for a jail and then throwing his little "flying man" at him. That quickly backfires on him. Season 3 expands on this guy's abuse further.
  • Back from the Dead: Combaticus, but only temporarily and due to the reality fracturing. This can also apply to other dead characters seen throughout the montage.
  • Black Comedy Rape: The porn director did something to the Twins after he tricked them into his van. They're shown to be traumatized and with their clothing torn, one only stating "We do not want to talk about it".
  • Book Ends: The final shot is of the fryer from the opening of the previous episode, with one interpretation being that the events may just happen all over again.
  • Continuity Nod: The entire time paradox climax is FILLED with them. Characters and objects from all other nine episodes appear in the battle (even characters from "Cold Blooded", which was still in production at the time but would be aired as an earlier story).
  • Depending on the Artist: The timeskip version of Alice is at first drawn with longer hair and not appearing to have aged much. She still looks this way when she meets the visibly-aging and graying Jared, but after she re-enters the jail, the layout artists for the scene and the later ones suddenly depicted her as having some age lines in her face and shorter, wavier hair.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The truck that splashes dirty water on Jared has the "Augenblick Studios" logo on it (the company's name surrounding a flying beer bottle).
    • An award plaque in the Prison Mogul's office congratulates him for the "Most Headshots", underneath two of his rifles hanging up.
  • Gainax Ending: While the series was built on these, this episode's ending was of special and infamous note. The creators even reflected back on it, when discussing season 2: Had the show not been renewed, Karacas said the whole apocalyptic desert scene (and altered reality) would have meant that the world had been destroyed and ended. While since it was renewed, the general Snap Back tendency of the show and the final shot implying a reset meant this two-parter would just be ignored and things would continue on.
  • Improbable Infant Survival: One with the fate being unknown. The bratty young boy throws a tomato at Jailbot, and winds up turned inside-out for his rudeness. If that weren't enough, Jailbot leaves him to be eaten by seagulls.
  • Mister Seahorse: The inmates apparently knocked up Bird, who's stated to be male by the creators. Bird is then shown laying his egg in a sequence suggestive of a woman in labor.
  • Posthumous Character: The Prison Mogul, as well as Gerald.
  • Spell My Name With An S: The season 1 DVD subtitles give the Prison Mogul's assistant's name as "Gerald", however, as the DVD did have some grammatical and spelling errors within some episodes and the assistant's name has never been spelled elsewhere, it sort of remains up in the air. Fansites seem to either use that name, or "Jarum" or "Jarrell". The confusion over the last syllable (and thus the spelling) seems to come from the Prison Mogul's accent.
  • Tears of Fear: The Twins of all characters are depicted with these when they're about to be executed, although they're blindfolded so the viewers can only see them streaming down.
  • Time Skip: Of at least several years, while the Warden is imprisoned in Time Jail. Superjail itself even winds up evolving from within to where all the inmates have died out and been replaced by a flock of bird-men.

Time Paradox

The Warden causes a time paradox, creating portals that release virtually every character seen throughout the show into an all out battle.
