  • Fake-Out Fade-Out: An Iris Out occurs, as Plastic Man and Woozy laugh, but they won't stop, so it just reverses itself instead. The episode fades out for real after a few more seconds of laughing and Batman just leaving.
  • Fiery Redhead: Plastic Man's wife Ramonda though she has every right to fly off the handle when she hears what Plastic Man does when she's not around.
  • Freudian Excuse: As a child, Kite Man was obsessed with Benjamin Franklin and even attempted to recreate the famous kite experiment. However, due to some cut corners and downright stupid additions, he got struck by lighting. Batman surmises this incident caused a trauma that made him a kite-related criminal. He also came to hate Benjamin Franklin.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: As Plastic Man blames himself for his family being kidnapped by Kite Man, Batman shakes him while shouting this.
  • Henpecked Husband: Plastic Man constantly defers to Ramonda. Her being a Fiery Redhead makes it easy to see why.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Kite Man after a blast from his machine hits him, making his whole body stretchy like Plastic Man. This however gives him the strength he needs to deliver a Curbstomp Battle to his foe Plastic Man.
  • Little "No": Plastic Man when he realizes that Kite Man is going after his loved ones.
  • Lying Finger Cross: Batman stresses that Plastic Man should stay put, until they know more about Kite Man's plan. Plastic Man and Woozy do this when promising to stay in the house.
  • Motive Rant: Seeing how his family's been restrained, Plastic Man calls Kite Man sick. Kite Man cops to that and explains his backstory. Afterwards, he rants about his revenge plan and how he will take his rightful place in history.
  • Mundane Utility: A montage shows Plastic Man using his powers for such trivial reasons as catching a foul ball before others could.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Plastic Man when he realizes that not staying at home like Batman suggested led to Kite Man kidnapping his family.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Kite Man's plan described in We Need a Distraction might've failed, if Plastic Man had done as Batman suggested and stay at home.
  • Oh, Crap!: Woozy when the news covers the museum fight that Plastic Man is trying to keep from Ramonda.
  • Overly Narrow Superlative: Kite Man feels pulling off his revenge plan make him "the most famous kite-related person in history."

  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: During Kite Man's rant against Benjamin Franklin, much to his annoyance.

    Woozy: Bifocals.
    Plastic Man: The Franklin Stove.
    Rubberneck: Daylight savings time.
    Kite Man: Never mind!
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Batman shows up at the house to discuss what he learns, but Plastic Man doesn't really care why; he's just happy for an opportunity to step away from his angry wife, until she cools off.
  • Shout-Out: During Kite Man's flashback he's seen wearing a shirt similar to his namesake.
  • Taken for Granite: The intended effect of Kite-Man’s weapon. He and Rubberneck eventually get taken out with it.
  • Too Dumb to Live: As a child, Kite Man attempted to redo Benjamin Franklin's kite experiment while wearing braces and standing in a washtub full of water.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: After the first museum fight, Ramonda accuses Plastic Man of this. She says she has put up with a lot over the years, only to see Plas continue to screw up.
  • We Need a Distraction: In order to lure Batman, Plastic Man, and Woozy Winks out into the open, Kite Man first finds Plastic Man's house and rings the doorbell. Ramonda, upon hearing the doorbell mistakes this for being her husband and is shocked when she opens the door and instead sees Kite Man having never met him before Baby Plas, her, and the family dog are tied to a giant kite.
  • What Did I Do Last Night?: Plastic Man plays dumb with Batman when the caped crusader asks who has a bone (or lack thereof in Plastic Man's case) to pick with him so Ramonda won't find out.
  • What Have I Become?: Kite Man has this reaction right after he runs into the path of a laser blast that hits him and changes his molecular structure to become more like that of Plastic Man's molecular structure.
