Mythology Gag / Gundam Build Divers

Go To

Like Gundam Build Fighters, Divers has a massive amount of cameos and references to previous works in the Gundam franchise.

    open/close all folders

    General
  • The real life Gundam Base Tokyo shop is where the main characters play the game.
  • Gundam Battle Nexus takes the action online by scanning Gunpla into the system, which was how it was done in Gunpla Builders Beginning G, but now there's the added element of going online to battle random pilots across the country, which is a plot element in Gundam Breaker 3.
    • The build of each mech determines the Super Mode it comes with, while finishing moves have to be built up and earned, which is roughly how it works in Gundam Breaker 3.
  • Each main character uses a custom suit from a previous Gundam show. Riku has a 00 Gundam, Yuki a GM III, Momoka a Kapool, Kyoya a AGE-2 Gundam, Ayame a Unicorn Gundam and so on.
  • Age-2 Magnum having funnels is a subtle one to the plot of Gundam Age, as the original Age-2 pilot Asemu Asuno just happened to be the one lacking the X-Rounder gene in the family, and thus the ability to use funnels, making it a big What Could Have Been.
  • The Leo NPD, NPC units controlled by GBN's Non-Player Divers, are all custom Leo suits, with alternate heads resembling those of the Maganac and Death Army mooks.
  • The Seravee Gundam Scheherazade is an official take on the idea of arming a mech with battleship parts, first seen as a Contest Winner Cameo at the end of Gundam Build Fighters Try (though the first Build Fighters technically beat them to the punch with the release of the Mrs Loheng-Rinko).
  • Riku's hair resembles that of Mikazuki, while Yuki amusingly resembles Atra's.
  • Ayame's RX-ZeroMaru takes its name from the Unicorn Gundam's designation, RX-0.
  • A Patrick Colasour avatar from Mobile Suit Gundam 00 shows up Once per Episode.
  • Throughout the show, various side characters can be seen wearing clothes and uniforms from various characters and organisations from the various Gundam series.

    The Prologue
  • One of Rommel's soldiers is a Zudah camping with a Big Gun, fulfilling its intended function in Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. Hitting it directly turns out to be a plot point as well.
  • Team Avalon turns the tide at the end by cobbling together the working parts of 2 mechs into one, just like the final battle of both Gundam Build Fighters and Try.
  • Magee's Early-Bird Cameo has a blue banner with seven stars and a big G behind him, a blatant reference to Gjallarhorn.

    Episode 1

    Episode 2
  • Yukio suggests that they could have a Body-Count Competition in a Musou Mission.
  • It takes just two eps for a McDaniels' originally from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam to make an appearance (but only online).
  • Yukio asks Riku why he didn't use Trans-Am in his first fight, with Riku warning that the build of a Gunpla is taken into consideration. In 00, GN Drive [Tau]-using machines and the 00 Gundam itself had problems with Trans-Am, the 00 being unable to use it until it got the 0 Raiser. Indeed, Riku's GN Drive is damaged due to such a thing.
    • Aside from that, the Trans-Am activation screen for 00 Diver reminisces that of Raphael Gundam instead of one that displays Celestial Being logo. Same style is also applied to Ogre GN-X.
    • Worth noting at this point is that Setsuna was also up against a black and red GN-drive mech customised in ancient Japan style (Mr Bushido's Ahead) when his twin drives konk out due to Trans Am.
  • While travelling, Riku, Yukio and Sarah encounter faithful recreations of the Sanc Kingdom, Lacroa and Moralia.
  • Various models from the Maganac corps, an Enact, a Union Realdo Hover Tank, a Guncannon, and a Javelin show up in the squad battle Riku and co watch.
  • Patrick Coulsour, presumably the same one from last week, is among a member of a Force.
  • A field of the Fireweed flowers from Mobile Suit Victory Gundam shows up. Yuki even mentions where it's from.
  • Momoka hides in a shop selling Gundam costumes, including Setsuna and Lockon's causal outfits from the first season of 00 (the Lockon mannequin is even slouching just like the character would).
  • Hellfire Ogre's opponents are three Prototype Doms from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. The three of them wear ZAFT-type uniforms. This has the added bonus of referencing both the Black Tri-Stars and their Expys in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny.
    • The lead Dom also wields a Dead End G (the polearm-sized heat axe used by the Super Custom Zaku)
    • The Break Decal is an illegal powerup system that causes a demonic red glow, reminiscent of the EXAM system from Blue Destiny.
  • Returning from their second sortie into GBN, Riku and Yukio walk into Momoka cosplaying as Lunamaria and Relena, as well as wearing Harry Ord's shades and pajamas. Nanami also suggests Sochie Heim's pilot outfit before Momoka starts refusing.

    Episode 3
  • Magee gives Momoka's Haro avatar cat ears similar to Hanayo from Gundam 00F
  • We see a serial battle flowchart using Patrick Colasour (again) as an example, showing several waves of Leo NPDs, followed quite appropriately by the Tallgeese-I and Gundam Epyon.
  • Kyoya disguises his AGE-II Magnum as a Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound from the final part of Mobile Suit Gundam AGE.
  • Death Army suits, Walter Gundam, and the Devil Gundam from Mobile Fighter G Gundam are the enemies in the horde mode battle Riku and co play. As well, their battle ground resembles Shinjuku, where Domon Kasshu first fought the Devil Gundam.
  • Riku tests out the anti-ship sword from the Sword Impulse Gundam and the GN Long Rifle from the Gundam Exia Repair III.
  • The leader of the Mass Divers uses a RGM-89De Jegan [ECOAS Type] from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, with the color scheme based on Piko Altidore's from Mobile Suit Gundam U.C. 0094: Across the Sky. (Likewise, the two other Jegans' color schemes are based on the Birnam Corps' Jegans from Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight Axis.)
  • The Devil Gundam destroying the Mass Divers' Jegans could be seen as revenge for when it lost to a Jegan offscreen in the original Gundam Build Fighters.

    Episode 4
  • Patrick Colasour's reduced to a blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene at a roadside eatery.
  • Instead of Buddha, the Toraburyu "monastery" worships a Mandala Gundam. There's also a gold G Gundam statue that's clearly in Super Mode.
    • Tigerwolf is the one to yell out the memeitc "READY... GO!!"
    • The On the Next segment has Yukki basically reciting all of Domon's Special Attack lines.
  • In the dojo, a weapon rack can be seen holding the RX-78-2's Gundam Javelin, both of Shin Musha Gundam's polearms, and the "Grand Slam" Anti-Ship Sword from the Aile Strike Gundam's Gundam Evolve short. Another rack holds the Gelgoog's beam naginata (amusingly, the beam weapons have clear plastic blades).
  • Yukki yells out "There is no god in this world!" while being shot at by the Leo NPD, a Catchphrase of Setsuna F. Seiei. Coincidentally, this also happens to be Setsuna's God Finger quote in SD Gundam G Generation Wars through Overworld.
  • The Desperado Tequila Gundam is shown dragging a coffin behind it that's really the Gundam Kyrios' large missile pod.
  • Riku figures out how to generate an extra-long beam blade by combining two of his beam saber, a same move that's used by Uso Ewin.

    Episode 5
  • A Treize Khushrenada and Lady Une from Wing can be seen walking through the Perisian market.
  • Shahryar shows off a diorama that's not only filled with Petitguy variants straight from the toyline, but looks suspiciously like Bearbear Village from Build Fighters Battlogue.
  • Patrick Colasour appears this time as a Toraburyu student (which might explain why he was in the neighborhood in Episode 4).
  • Among the banners in the Perisian market is one saying "Andrew Walt(obscured) Kebab", one with the Orb crest, and there's a "Club Zala".
  • The Mass-Diver's mech is the Xamdrag from Mobile Suit Gundam Age with added missile pods from the Zaku Amazing and Legend Gundam's funnels, and the added ability to turn into a Gundam resembling Gundam The End from Gundam Build Fighters Try, armed with Gundam Sandrock's heat shotels.
  • The Seravee Gundam Scheherazade's Finishing Move is a four-barrel beam blast from light emitters on its shoulders and hips, intended to mimic the original Seravee's shoulder and knee cannons (the Seravee's GNHW configuration would have added cannons on the hips though).
    • For an added bonus, Seravee's Mecha Expansion Pack is a mini Ptolemaios. Shahryar installed weapons in this mini Gunpla, which was an ironic nod to the original ship relies mostly on additional armaments, the main reason why it was defeated by the UNF in the season 1 finale.
    • Yet another detail in the 00 shoutout: the four beams that Scheherazade fires are each a different color, corresponding to the four color schemes of 00's protagonists.
  • When Shahryar calls on Seravee, he proclaims "You deserve ten-thousand deaths!" A nod to Tieria's phrase whenever someone drew his ire.
  • Riku and Yukki's 00 Diver and GM III Beam Master are measured by G.U.N.P.L.A. (an acronym for General, Unique, Nimbleness, Power, Luxury, and Armor) statistical data. This long acronym is a nod to the operating systems of Gundam Mobile Suits in Cosmic Era.
  • Ayame explains that if you try to bring a Gunpla to the desert, sand could get into it, rendering it inoperative. The cast of Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team had to deal with this same problem, but with real Mobile Suits.

    Episode 6
  • Patrick Colasour appears this week back at the GBN citadel, and the female in an identical uniform he's with is implied to be Kati Mannequin.
  • When Koichi is first seen, Gunpla boxes for the Perfect Strike Gundam, the Gundam Mk-III and the Unicorn Gundam can be seen. He also spends half the episode working on Anaval Gato's Gelgoog.
  • Kouichi has a Mobile Suit Gundam SEED CE.73: Stargazer poster on the wall of his apartment.
  • Kouichi has a Plan 303E "Deep Striker" kit from Gundam Sentinel in his dream about his team splitting up.
  • In the recording of a practice match, Kouichi's team consists of a Galbaldy β, Hambrabi, Gundam Astray Red Frame, Gundam Spiegel and an Asshimar. They're found in a box full of backup mechs like another Kapool, a Zgok, a Zeong, and even mobile armors like the Bigro and Grublo.
  • A Hi-Zack can be seen leaving the GBN citadel near the end of the episode.
  • A convenient store called 'Star Seven' appears, act as both a Bland-Name Product to 7-Eleven and a reference to Seven Stars from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

    Episode 7
  • Riku's team name is Build Divers, which is not only a Title Drop, but similar to Team Try Fighters, which also used a Title Drop.
  • Patrick Colasour is one of the many watching the start of the battle between Build Divers and the 7th Division.
  • Our heroes start by using inflatable dummy Kapools to trip all the wire traps - the use of inflatable dummies goes all the way back to the original anime series, but at a realistic size to mimic battleships or asteroids. The cartoony ones seen here are closer to Fumina's dummy GMs in Gundam Build Fighters Try.
  • One of the glasses Rommel has in his paws has a grenade in it. This is a reference to a scene in Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team where Ginias Sahalin places one of the grenades he uses in his descent into madness in a wine glass. Also counts as an Actor Allusion seeing as Rommel is voiced by Ginias.

    Episode 8
  • The image of a Gunpla dance competition has a Bound Doc dancing with the Gundam Rose, with the diesel mech driven by George's butler also dancing.
  • The image of a Gunpla karaoke festival has a rare appearance of the Meer Campbell Concert Zaku and the normally game-exclusive Extreme Gundam (technically its second anime appearance after Gundam Build Fighters).
  • While describing the evolution of the Bearguy, it mimics part of the first opening of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ's, replacing the evolution of man with the evolution of the Bearguy (runner pieces, Acguy, Bearguy from Model Suit Gunpla Builders Beginning G, Bearguy III from Gundam Build Fighters and Bearguy F from Gundam Build Fighters Try)
  • Patrick Colasour appears alone at the teacup ride (likely for the same reason as that slap mark on his face.) In the back is the pallete-swapped Katz, Letz and Kikka accompanied by Frau Bow, and Roabea and Witz trying to read a map.
  • One of the festival rides involves bungee-jumping using the mobile probes of the Rafflesia.
  • The color scheme of the Petitguy that Ayame ends up hugging is also significant - it's the one that comes with the Beargguy F and technically the first Petitguy ever released.
  • Our heroes meet two girls hailing from a Mobile Suit Gundam SEED-themed force—it's called the Archangels, the girls are in palette-swapped Stella and Cagalli outfits, and they drive the Gaia Gundam and Murasame.
    • Stea piloting a Gaia Gundam and going berserk is an allusion to her namesake, Stella Loussier, an Extended pilot.
    • We see more of their members at the end, including their captain in Meer Campbell's civilian outfit complete with hair dec when she sacrifices herself to save Lacus, and one girl is dressed in Flay Allster's civilian clothes and has her hairstyle.
  • There's a restaurant named Miha's Kitchen, and apparently the reference isn't strong enough so the signboard also has a picture of Miharu Ratokie on it. And just for flavor, two additional silhouettes that are clearly Miharu's little siblings.
  • The Event Mission is called "Bearguy Saga: A New Dawn", a reference to the Playstation 2 RPG MS Saga: A New Dawn. As well, it's subtitle is "Cucuruz Doan's Island", named after the infamous Missing Episode of Mobile Suit Gundam.
  • The NPC that initiates the Bearguy Quest also borrows the "READY...GO!" Catchphrase from Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
  • The effect of Tsukasa's upgraded Break Decals is eerily reminiscent of the Moonlight Butterfly.

    Episode 9
  • The episode begins with Hyakki battling in Solomon, attacking the Pegasus-class battleship Pegasus
  • Patrick Colasour appears in the GBN Citadel, now with the teammates we last saw in episode 2.
  • The Geara Ghirarga thanks to Break Decals lets out a chest laser that cuts across the sky, very similar to the Mobile Armor Hashmal death ray.
  • The battleground for Build Divers and Hyakki's fight is the Arctic base the Scarlet Team invades in the beginning of Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. Even more, Build Divers has to protect the shuttle holding the NT-1 "Alex" and Hyakki launches from a Jukon-class submarine.
  • Rose, whose Jagd Doga Thorn has its funnels retained from the original Jagd Doga, is named for one of the notable funnels users, the Gundam Rose.

    Episode 10
  • The avatar of Game Master is that of a Gundiver from SD Gundam Force
  • The bar Kyoya and Rommel hang out in has a holographic picture of a Universal Century-type space colony.
  • The Force Iron Maskz is comprised of Divers wearing the costumes of Char Aznable, "Iron Mask" Carozzo Ronah, Harry Ord, Rau le Cruset and "Mr. Bushido". A later scene also shows Divers dressed as Zechs Merquise and Schwartz Bruder as part of their team.
    • The Char cosplayer is also a double reference as his large cleft chin is a reference to the game Gundam 0079: The War for Earth.
    • Not!Char is driving a custom red Dom that only exists in MSV canon, while not!Carozzo drives a Gundam F91 in the Rafflesia's colors, while armed with a machine gun lance and a Bug for a shield.
  • Patrick Colasour appears shaking hands (paws?) with Rommel.
  • Tsukasa's enforcers wear the uniforms of the Trinity siblings.
  • The asteroid base Tsukasa is staying at is Pezun, a former Zeon base turned Titans base that first appeared in Gundam Sentinel

    Episode 11
  • The episode title, "Ayame's Tears" is one to the Gundam Wing episode "Catherine's Tears". It can also be one for Iron-Blooded Orphans first ending theme, MISIA's "Orphan's Tears". It can even be one to SD Gundam Force episode "The Tears of Cobramaru", with Cobramaru being a Ninja-themed SD Gundam, which suits Ayame's use of a similarly themed Gunpla.
  • One of the Divers appearing this week is Randy, world #7 despite driving a Mobile Armor from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED rather than a mech. He's among the first to be shot down, mirroring the way mobile armor pilot Mu La Flaga also got the Sacrificial Lion treatment.
  • Patrick Colasour has a voice-only appearance with his damaged GN-X flying back, retreating. The ending credited him with his full name shown, even though the only line he said is "Sorry". Still Immortal...
  • You thought a ninja-based Unicorn Gundam wouldn't have NT-D Mode? Surely you jest! For added pun, it's initially called "Ninto-Do" system, before abbreviated to NT-D, in line with ZeroMaru's Ninja motif.
  • Ayame grabs the Qubeley of one of Tsukasa's mercenaries from behind, and he reacts by launching his funnels to attack her from behind, a situation very similar to how the fight between Char and Haman ended. When Ayame takes control of the funnels with the NT-D mode, she makes the same hand movements Banagher made when he took control of Marida's funnels and ordered them to attack the Kshatriya.

    Episode 12
  • Patrick Colasour shows up near the end of the episode as the only guy without a Mobile Suit cheering. He really is immortal.
  • The GBN Administration is revealed to be the SDG HQ from SD Gundam Force.
  • Tsukasa's been disguising his appearances in GBN as a guest Haro, and not just any Haro - it's the evil purple Haro that follows the Trinity siblings.
  • Rommel attempts to defeat the Big Zam by attacking it from below, similarly to how Sleggar Law attempted it in the original Mobile Suit Gundam. Sadly, it doesn't work.

    Episode 13
  • Patrick Colasour shows up at the very beginning, celebrating with other players.
  • Tsukasa explaining how he kept wrecking and rebuilding his old Gunpla is similar to Gundam Build Fighters's Ricardo Fellini, whose Wing Gundam Fenice evolved from an old Wing Gundam.
  • The area Riku and Tsukasa duel in has the fallen Angel Halo in the background.
  • The Astray No-Name uses the N.I.T.R.O. System, a derivative of the EXAM System used on the Delta Gundam Kai.
  • The Astray No-Name's faceplate shatters from Riku's attack the same way "Mr. Bushido"'s Susanowo shattered in Mobile Suit Gundam 00

    Episode 14
  • In The Gundam Base, posters for all three movies of the Mobile Suit Gundam Trilogy are shown on a wall along with one for Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
  • Patrick Colasour shows up when Riku goes to visit Magee, this time wearing a Zeon uniform. Did he join Rommel's team?
  • In the same scene above, there's a trio of Divers wearing three distinct Gundam SEED uniforms: Kira's Earth Alliance uniform, Cagalli's ORB Representative uniform and the ZAFT Red Coat.
  • In front of the Club Zala building is the feet and shins of the RX-78-1 Prototype Gundam.
  • In the base of the mysterious individual in The Stinger, names of various AI systems from the Gundam franchise such as the ZERO System and ALICE are written on the walls for reasons unknown.
  • In the On the Next for episode 15, Kyoya ends it with "Let's see, Riku. Let's test the performance of your new Gunpla." This is similar to what Char says when he first challenges the RX-78-2 Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam: "Let's see. Let's test the reaction time of your brand new Mobile Suit."

    Episode 15

    Episode 16
  • The Patrick cameo for this episode has him being bitten in the arm by Flanders, Usso's dog from Mobile Suit Victory Gundam.
  • In the same scene, we see Blu Duel dog food and Airmaster treats.
  • When describing how the players will be affected, the health bars over the RX-ZeroMaru and Momokapool are those from the Playstation fighting game Gundam Battle Assault.
  • When the RX-ZeroMaru activates its Psycho Field, the red pieces of its armor turn green, similar to how the Unicorn Gundam's Psychoframe turned green after its Awakening.

    Episode 17

    Episode 18
  • Riku's opponents in the G5 Mission Event included a RX-78-2 Gundam in Player 2 colors from the arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam: EX Revue, a Rick Dias-themed Gundam Mk-IInote , the Zeta Gundam Unit 3, the ZZ in Gundam Dryon III colorsnote , and the Nu Gundam in the colors of its novel counterpart, the Hi-Nu Gundam.
    • In addition, the RX-78-2 does it's iconic pose from the original Mobile Suit Gundam opening. And then the beams of the 00 Sky and the ZZ clash in a way reminiscent of the Strike Freedom vs Destiny from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. And then Riku finishes off the Nu Gundam in a vein similar to Shinn finishing off the Freedom in the Impulse, also from Seed Destiny.
  • One of the top players is named "Gunboy", which was one of the original names for the Gundam.
  • The Patrick cameo this time has the poor dope being soundly beaten by a Kowloon Gundam.
  • After Riku's and Tigerwolf's duel is over, Automatons can be seen cleaning the arena. (And something of a Black Comedy Burst if you know that Automatons are usually responsible for something that would have to be massively cleaned up.)

    Episode 19
  • The company sponsoring the Nadeshiko-athlon is called "Sazameth" a portmanteau of the Sazabi and Elmeth, Char Aznable and Lalah Sune's iconic Mobile Weapons. And for more Black Comedy, those are the last mechs they ever used.
  • You can briefly spot a palette-swapped Angelo Sauper sitting next to Koichi, and what appears to be palette-swapped Amuro and Sayla Mass behind Riku and Yukki in the stands.
  • Patrick's cameo this episode is a blink-and-you-miss-it scene of him walking away as a snackboy when Magee calls out to the gang.
  • When Emilia completes her Haropla, she holds her hand up holding it similarly to how Bright Noa did it in the original Mobile Suit Gundam opening. Other Divers follow suit seconds later.
  • The episode marks the first animated appearance of the Second Victory Gundam, the novel-exclusive replacement of Mobile Suit Victory Gundam's Victory 2 Gundam.
  • One of the displays in the Gunstagram portion of the race is a shot-for-shot recreation of the Japan-only special cover of the Linkin Park album "A Thousand Suns" (which was included with a custom colored HGUC GP-01 Full Burnian), with the band replaced by Pettitguys.
  • Nanami's Gunstagram display with the Guncannon is a reference to the first opening of the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
  • The icon for the Gunstagram likes is a chibi Dearka Elsman flashing a thumbs up.

    Episode 20
  • Build Divers is shown battling an Adrastea-class from Mobile Suit Victory Gundam and the Apsalus III from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team.
  • One scene from the same montage is of the Build Divers attempting to avert the Colony Drop of the Neo-Zeon base Axis from the climax of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack.
  • Our first real look at the Archangels team is filled with more Mobile Suit Gundam SEED references. Outside of Stea and Karnari and everyone in ep 8, their Force Nest is the Archangel itself, one girl is dressed in Mirialla Haw's civilian clothes and has her hairstyle while a third is wearing Aisha's civilian clothes and has her hairstyle and colors.
  • The Avatar of GBN Developer is the Crystal Phoenix from the Musha Gundam series.
  • Sarah is referred to as "EL-Diver", similar to the ELS, the Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shape-shifter of Gundam 00 Awakening Of The Trailblazer.

    Episode 21

    Episode 22

    Episode 24
  • The phrase "light of possibility" is used in this episode in a context very similar to how it was used in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.
  • There's a pile of references to the final arc of Mobile Fighter G Gundam :
    • The mission ends with Sarah leaping out of Fort Avalon and Riku out of the Gundam OO Sky and into each others' arms, which is more or less how Domon Kasshu rescues Rain.
    • The Raid Boss at the end of the episode mimics the Devil Gundam's One-Winged Angel form.

    Episode 25
  • Raid Bosses all over the world turn out to be Mook Makers, much like how the Devil Gundam spawned the Death Army (one such Mook even mimics the Death Army mech's eyeball-like head).
  • As if to seal off the G Gundam references, Magee's new Finishing Move burns a heart-shaped hole through the enemy much like the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyokuken.
  • Real world Shahryar is a dark-skinned blonde in an outfit reminiscent of Quatre Reberba Winner.
  • In Magee's bar, a poster with the phrase "Don't you ever stop," can be seen. This line is from Orga's Final Speech in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and was a huge meme in Japan.
  • In the bar, one of the models shown is a Gaia Impulse Gundam, a SEED Destiny MSV that gave the Impulse similar capabilities to the Gaia Gundam.
  • invoked Apparently the only karaoke tunes available are all past Gundam OPs and EDs. Tigerwolf attempts to sing "Char ga Kuru" from the Gundam Movie Trilogy and Shahyrar suggests "Genki no G" from Reconguista in G. Magee suggests "INVOKE" from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Yukio mentions "Rhythm Emotion" from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing and Ayame called out "Tokyo Boogie Night" from the SD Gundam series. Nanami suggests Koichi should sing "Anna ni Issho Datta no ni" from Gundam SEED. As well, Shahryar mentions "MAN-WITH", which is short for "Man With A Mission", who sung the famous first theme song of IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS, "Raise Your Flag".
