A lot of Dorkly videos have moments that seemingly predicted future events.
- In February 2015, 6 Times You Were the REAL Villain in Video Games applies Alternative Character Interpretation to several popular franchises, then shows a player abusing riders in RollerCoaster Tycoon with a dangerously incomplete ride. A few months later, Undertale was released, where a game path actually enables you to become the villain of the game.
- Vision Wants to be in the Avengers Movie features the Vision getting jealous that Captain America, Iron Man, and Hawkeye are all appearing in The Avengers movie but he isn't. He would later end up appearing in the actual sequel.
- In Diddy Kong Country, Diddy sarcastically asks if Cranky Kong is going to stop him from taking control of Donkey Kong Country. Considering he's been turned into a playable character in Tropical Freeze, he just might.
- Bowser's Weekend With The Kids has Larry Koopa complain that Bowser Jr. is the only one Bowser ever takes go-kart racing. In Mario Kart 8, all the Koopalings are featured as playable racers, while Bowser Jr. is nowhere in sight. He is in Deluxe, however.
- Most Useless Mega-Evolutions in Pokémon predicted a very accurate Mega Slowbro a year before it was revealed. They noticed it themselves, too.
- Fan Fiction Dragon Ball Z predicted custom characters in Dragon Ball Xenoverse by three years.
- Mario Goes Berserk predicted the ability to use shells as helmets in Super Mario Maker.
- Why Kylo Ren REALLY turned to the Dark Side is a lot more hilarious if you've watched Star Wars Rebels, where not only is "Animal Friendship" awesome, but it's a neutral ability and the protagonist's first use of the Dark Side.
- In The Death Star Architect Speaks Out, an Imperial architect defends the exhaust port he built on the Death Star since it was necessary to expel the huge amount of gas after the Death Star fired its main weapon and that he couldn't have predicted that "Magic Space Wizards" would fire an impossible shot down the tube to hit the core in defiance of the laws of physics. In Rogue One, the real architect of the Death Star reveals he purposely made the exhaust port as the Death Star's weakness so the Rebels could destroy it.
- Why Mario and Call of Duty Are Basically the Same has Luigi respond to Mario's criticisms of the Call of Duty franchise by saying fans like the series the way it is and might not respond well to changes. A few months after the video was released, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced to massive contempt and derision from the series' fanbase, seemingly proving Luigi right.
- Link to the Past with a Portal Gun has Link take a Cucco from Kakariko Village and weaponize the Cucco Revenge Squad by tricking Ganon into attacking it and invoking its wrath. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link can now do this (sans Portal gun) against any enemy except for the story bosses.
- Sonic Meets Original Fan Characters is a lot more amusing, since Sonic Forces allows you to create your very own Sonic character that interacts with Sonic himself.
- If Video Game Bosses Were Actually Smart has Dr. Robotnik launch the Death Egg Robo at Sonic on the very first level. Cue Sonic Mania in 2017 where Robotnik does exactly that.
- Why Ditto Is the Most Dangerous Pokémon has Dorkly pointing out that the Pokémon Ditto would be dangerous if it was possible for them to transform into humans. Fast forward a year later for the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and you come across a Police Side Quest where you investigate a group of Ditto that have transformed into people around Konikoni City.
- And it happened again with Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
- If Pokémon Met Their Alola Forms features a moment in which a regular Exeggutor expresses a bit of envy over the long neck of an Alolan Exeggutor. In the Pokemon anime, in a scene where the trainers bring out a regular Exeggutor and its Alolan counterpart, there is a clear sign of envy there too.
- If Nintendo Owned Sonic has Samus complain to Sonic that being owned by Nintendo isn't as good as it sounds given the abandonment of her series. The following year, Samus's series would be revitalized, and both Sonic and Samus had games released that were considered a return to form for their franchises.
- One of the designs in "They're running out of Pokémon" was "Fish Gun", which is literally just a fish with a gun for a body. When the Spaceworld 1997 demo for Pokémon Gold and Silver got leaked onto the internet, years after the article was written, it turned out that the original design for Remoraid turned out to be...a fish with a gun for a body (and it evolved into a tank, to boot).
- River City Ransom Girlfriend has Cyndi/Mami getting sick and tired of Ryan/Riki having to resort to beating up the entire town's population just to rescue her, and thus decides to beat him up herself. Seven years after the video's release, WayForward Technologies comes up with River City Girls, where Mami features as a rival to Misako and Kyoko, two girls taking center stage in beating the crap out of the entire town's population to save their boyfriends.
- In The Best Part Of Sonic Games Is The Music, Sonic admits that he's sick of saving Green Hill Zone, with Tails later denouncing it too. With Sonic Forces having a lukewarm reception against its own version of Green Hill, many fans ended up agreeing with them.
- Batman v. Superman v. Iron Man v. Captain America: Dawn of Civil War has Wonder Woman claims that one big difference between DC and Marvel is that she, as DC's leading comic book heroine, has a feature film of her own while Black Widow, Marvel's leading comic book heroine, doesn't. 6 years later, Black Widow would finally get a film centered on her.
- Mario Vs Minecraft had Steve mock the Wii U as a failed console given that Minecraft was later ported to the Wii U, and the Switch after that.
- Along with this, now those who are angry at Steve for coming off as a Jerkass in the above can have Mario take his revenge in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Moreover, Steve's ego at having the "highest-selling video game" likely shattered after Fortnite took that title from him.
- Chargin' Chuck Gets Picked Last made fun of the fact that a character like Chargin' Chuck would never appear as a spinoff character in a sports title... until Mario Golf: Super Rush ten years later, where they got confirmed as a playable character.
- Why Batman Isn't Really Tragic deconstructed the tragedy of Bruce Wayne by pointing out that he didn't really suffer as an orphan, he had a guardian, a mansion so he can live comfortably, and he never struggled in the same way as the working class. In The Batman (2022), this is actually a plot point and a reoccurring element in Bruce's character arc.
- Regular Guiseppe: The Third Mario Brother wouldn't be the last time the Mario Bros would know a character resembling them named Guiseppe, albeit not their brother.
- Angry Birds Friendship becomes this thanks to The Angry Birds Movie 2, where the birds and pigs become friends.
- Pokémon Are More Dangerous Than Guns where Professor Eastwood offers a kid a gun to fight Pokémon and the Pokémon Giratina steals ones of Eastwood's guns to go on a rampage, becomes more amusing to watch after the release of Palworld, a game that runs on the idea of "Pokémon with Guns" where both the player and a few Pals pack heat. Dorkly seems aware of this and re-released the video a month after Palworld's release in the YouTube Shorts format.
