Super Mario Bros

    In General
    Mario
    Luigi
  • The Dog Bites Back: Some shorts involve Luigi getting revenge against Mario for various mistreatment. Most notable includes when Mario constantly pranks him, he decides to imply the foot.
Luigi: Tell me. Who am I?
    Mario: The prank bitch!
    Luigi: (stomps harder)WRONG ANSWER
    Mario: You're Luigi! Number one!
    Peach
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: The whole premise of the "Peach's Revenge" shorts. Peach takes it upon herself to not only kill Bowser for what he did to Mario, but also kill everybody associated with him. When Mario reveals that his death was staged, Peach decides to kill him instead after having already taken Bowser's arms and legs.
    Bowser

Pokemon

    Shuckle/Ditto
  • The Chew Toy: Yeah... he never get an evolution since his species' debut in 1999. This only makes his delusion of getting an evolution much more amusing despite drinking a potion made of every evolution stones.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After being the unknowing Butt-Monkey for multiple videos in which he is taken advantage of by organ harvesters, dies from drinking a toxic mix of evolution stones, gets his ghost dragged to hell for seemingly no reason, and tortured all for just trying to find out what his non-existent evolution is, Arceus reincarnates him as a Ditto, giving him the ability to have hundreds of evolutions.
  • A Form You Are Comfortable With: When he is reincarnated into a Ditto, he uses his powers to return to his original form. When used by Red as a decoy to prevent his parents from keeping him at home, Ditto decides to go back to being a Shuckle, but changes his head back to Red's when confronted by Red's mom.
  • Mundane Utility: When reincarnated into a Ditto, he is capable of becoming any Pokemon he wishes, so he uses his power to become... a Shuckle.

Mortal Kombat

Sonic The Hedgehog

    Sonic
    Tails
  • Vocal Dissonance: His voice is a lot deeper than it's ever been in other media, sounding nothing like a kid.
    Robotnik
  • Self-Applied Nickname: He calls himself "The Big Dog" in "Robotnik's New Nickname". However, everybody feels that Eggman is a better nickname for him.

Original Characters

These are characters created specifically for the Dorkly videos web series.
    Kevin the Assistant/Villain Consultant
  • But Now I Must Go: After helping Facebook and Google achieve their final goal, Kevin realizes that evil no longer needs an assistant and with a smile fades from existence
  • Combat Pragmatist: Kevin does not screw around. He will often call out his bosses on their bond villain stupidity and proceed to inform them of the most straightforward and efficient way to get rid of their enemies. No deathtraps, no fair fights, no giving the good guys even a chance. Kevin is all about just shooting the heroes.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kevin can't really be called straight-up evil as he is literally a Punch-Clock Villain who just helps other villains be better villains, conforms to Pragmatic Villainy, and never seems to engage in villainy off the clock. There are also a few things he won't tolerate that can be a major Berserk Button for him.
    • He despises Stupid Evil and is often Enraged by Idiocy because of how his bosses tend to be Card-Carrying Villain. Tying into his pragmatism, Kevin will often call out his bosses on plans that are needlessly destructive and waste resources better spent on simpler more effective plans.
    • Kevin takes no real pleasure in the crimes he commits or facilitates. While he never exhibits any moral objections to his boss's villainy, he never does anything for the For the Evulz and he is not Sadist. He'll also never draw out a hero's demise and will usually go for a quick and (relatively) painless kill.
    • He seems to draw a line at abducting children as he actively hunts down Driflooms for luring children and then whisking them away, never to be seen again. Any time he sees a Drifloom try to abduct a child, he blows it away with a shotgun.
  • Friend to All Children: Downplayed as the only times he's seen directly interacting with children is when he kills them (Megaman though Do Androids Dream? is in effect) and directing Giovanni to have Charizard burn Ash to death (though it's not him doing it and he was on the job at that time) but Kevin does rescue children from Driflooms (ghost-balloons that steal children) by shooting the Driflooms with a shotgun. It could be that Kevin is really good at separating his personal life and professional life and/or the fact that at that time he had decided to become a hero consultant.
Kevin: Drop the kid you goddamn ghost-balloon! (blasts the Drifloom with a shotgun)
  • Hero Killer: Mostly indirectly with only one case being directly. Kevin will usually show his villain bosses the most, practical, efficient, and least risky way to take out their arch enemies. In one instance, he uses weapons that Dr. Wily gave him to kill Megaman.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: He's usually rude and demeaning towards his bosses, but they more often than not see the points he raises.
  • Off Screen Moment Of Awesome: Casually mentions in Literal Pokedex Entries Volume 16 that, after he ascended to a higher plane, he helped Satan attack and dethrone God and obtained "knowledge beyond all mortal understanding".
  • Only Sane Man: Often points out the incredibly stupid Card-Carrying Villain habits of his bosses and tells them how and why these habits are stupid.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Kevin tends to chew out his bosses for their Stupid Evil tendencies and will often show them how to effectively use their resources to accomplish their goals.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Kevin makes it clear through his attitude and professionalism that being a villain assistant is just a job. He doesn't personally relish villainy for the sake of villain, never has any specific issues with the heroes, and just wants to do his job as efficiently and competently as possible.
  • Rank Up: Started off as just an assistant, but his repeated correction of Villains' goals and plan flaws eventually got him his own business as a Villain Consultant (and even has his very own assistant, Devin).
    Pixel Pete
  • Butt-Monkey: Nothing seems to go well for him. First, he ends up having his game go unfinished and abandoned in spite of his creator's kickstarter reaching the goal (on account of him not realizing you had to pay taxes or programmers), then he realizes the princess he saved is a power-mad tyrant, and he is quick to find out how painful speedruns can truly be.
    Guiseppe
  • Killed Offscreen: Revealed to have been who Bowser killed in Peach's Revenge finale, having been burned beyond recognition so that people would think it was Mario that died.
    Mark the Video Game Agent
  • Executive Meddling: Invoked and parodied, as his actions are supposedly why certain characters are influenced as they are. One particular example is Sonic's, where reasoning on Tail's absence in Sonic and Knuckles is explained along with the development of divisive Sonic games such as Sonic Unleashed.
  • Jerkass: Very much so. To try to make characters adapt to certain games, he'll constantly belittle and insult them - in terms of Luigi, he rudely demands Luigi to lose weight (so he's distinct from Mario) or to get the hell out of his office.
  • The Nicknamer: Comes out with numerous nicknames for various characters - for instance, he calls Donkey Kong a "statuatory ape-ist".
