Hated by All in Live-Action TV.

  • All My Children has quite a few examples:
    • Michael Cambias earned this when he raped Bianca. At his funeral, literally everyone in Pine Valley attended said funeral simply to give eulogies on how much they hate him for what he did, with Bianca's then-lover Lena literally spitting on his grave. Hell, he was so hated that some of Bianca's friends broke into the funeral home and stole his body just so they could throw it in the dump. His casket was empty.
    • When Will Cortlandt was beaten to death with a crowbar, his approval rating was so abysmal that there were no less than fifteen suspects, including his own sister.
    • After David Hayward's apparent death, only Greenlee, Marissa, and Krystal attended his funeral; he had become such a pariah by that time that everyone else in town celebrated his demise at ConFusion.
    • Greenlee Smythe earned this for a while after she exposed Kendall's pregnancy with Michael's child as a fake in the middle of her trial for Michael's murder, and cemented it even further when it is believed that she caused Kendall's son Spike to go deaf.
  • Arrowverse:
    • After his Harrison Wells cover is blown, it becomes clear that nobody likes Eobard Thawne, hero or villain.
      • During his time on Legends of Tomorrow as a member of the Legion of Doom, he tries to cozy up to Darhk and Merlyn, however his unlikable qualities eventually make the two of them fed up with him. By the time of "Doomworld" all of his Legion comrades have turned on him and hate him just as much as the Legends do.
      • In Crisis on Earth-X, he's one of the New Reich's enforcers, but it's clear they only tolerate him because they need him and not because they like him. He's constantly at odds with Earth-X Oliver and Kara who seem like they'd be happy to kill him should he step out-of-line or outlive his usefulness. The feeling is mutual, with Thawne bailing the scene as soon as it becomes obvious the Nazis have no chance of winning.
    • Similar to Thawne, the more she appears, the more it becomes clear that no one likes Amanda Waller. There's a laundry list of reasons for that: being a Stupid Evil leader of a shady government organization whose first and only solution to a problem is murder; dangling the lives of loved ones over her agents' heads to strong-arm them into compliance; regularly covering up atrocities, either to protect ARGUS' reputation or her own; and for her condescending manipulative attitude. Literally everyone who has worked with her hates her guts. When karma finally catches up to her and her disregard for human life gets her killed in season 4, Lyla tries to hold a vigil for her, which consists of Team Arrow awkwardly standing in silence with glasses of champagne before Felicity brings up how she tried to make Star City a crater during Deathstroke's siege on the city.
  • The A-Team: The Nazis in South America during the Season 3 premiere, not surprisingly, qualify. The episode begins with the A-Team going up against a group of sleazy and duplicitous river pirates, who are being paid by an anonymous group of people further up the Amazon river to keep away anybody who might intrude on their privacy. However, they had no idea that this anonymous group was a Nazi Remnant using the Amazonian site to build an off-the-books nuclear reactor. Once this is discovered, the pirates and the A-Team join forces without a second thought to burn the Nazi base to the ground.
  • Big Brother Brasil had in its 21st edition singer Karol Conká, who entered the house with others having known and liked her work. And then her sarcastic and non-empathic behavior towards her housemates garnered a very negative reception from the participants and viewers alike. The latter in particular - in a case that was the closest to real-life 0% Approval Rating, when she could possibly be voted out of the house 99.17% of the audience chose her to leave. The show's broadcaster even did her best for her to Win Back the Crowd, making a documentary series on Karol's post-Big Brother life indicatively named "Life After the Fall".
  • The Black Mirror episode "Hated in the Nation" involves a hacker who has hijacked Britain's supply of robotic bees in order to turn them into a killing swarm against people who have become sufficiently reviled on social media.
  • The Cry of Mann: During the "Tanking Mann" segments, which is a fictionalized after-show, actor Sam Weiner plays...Sam Weiner, as a narcissistic Jerkass that nobody in the actual Wham City cast can stand. Even the hosts of the show, Becca and Rebecca, get utterly sick of him showing up and making their show about him. This carries on into the Cry of Mann proper, where Sam gives his character an impromptu monologue and gets glared at by the others. Even in the sequel Call of Warr, where Tanking Mann was ditched, there's a brief moment where the cast break character and make Sam stop hogging the spotlight.
  • The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air had Judge Robertson. Although the family told him not to go to the funeral after all the mudslinging Robertson did to win an election, Phil drags the rest of the family since he considered Robertson an old friend. At the wake, Philip forgot his eulogy and asked anyone with a happy memory of Robertson to share it. When no one said anything Philip asked if anyone remembered him. The first speaker stated that the judge sent him to jail for a crime he didn't commit. The second speaker, the former gardener, recalled when Robertson not only refused to pay him for his services but tried to have him deported. Even the judge's mistress had nothing good to say about him. When Will tried to guilt the audience by partially quoting Shylock’s monologue, the first speaker called out Will on who he was to tell them that. When Will responded that he "killed" Judge Robertson, the attendees clapped and cheered him.
  • House of Anubis: Everyone in Season 3 winds up hating Miss Denby, with the only exception being Joy, Jerome, Mara, and Willow, all of whom were caught up in their own drama and unaware of what was happening. Sibuna hated her for being evil and using her role as a teacher to manipulate or bully them. Victor and the Sinners hated her for bossing them around. Frobisher-Smythe thought she was obnoxious, and even her own sister hated her for years of abuse and identity theft.
  • Letterkenny:
    • When Hard Right Jay comes to town, he gets on everyone's nerves immediately with his racist/sexist views and stupid alt-right conspiracy theories. It ends with his group of alt-righters getting thoroughly stomped by the Hicks and the Natives.
    • No one in Letterkenny likes Angie. The Hicks hate her for cheating on Wayne prior to the series' start, and everyone else hates her for her homewrecking tendencies. When she returns from a Long Bus Trip to England in season 9, the entirety of Mod3an's tells her to pull her finger out of her ass.
  • MacGyver (1985): Murdoc, the hero's archenemy. Being a Professional Killer is reason enough for most of society to dislike him. However, by the end of the series, he's also become hunted by his own organization, first for his repeated failure to terminate MacGyver and then for trying to retire from a profession that doesn't allow the practice. By his last episode, he's trying to make a career change by becoming the security chief of a deposed dictator who's on the verge of retaking power, which should at least give him the resources of an entire government to help protect him from his many enemies. However, the dictator decides to double-cross Murdoc as soon as he no longer needs him, stating that he "did not stay in power so long by trusting the likes of you."
  • Malcolm in the Middle:
    • The entire family is hated by their neighborhood, to the point that said neighborhood throws a huge block party to coincide with their annual vacation.
      • In the episode where Lois is bedridden with Mono, it's revealed that the neighborhood actually likes Hal and it's really Lois that they hate. He starts getting invited to neighborhood parties that were previously kept secret from him since they no longer have to deal with his wife. A couple of them even conspire to split them up by introducing Hal to a recent divorcee.
  • Married... with Children: In one episode, when Al is believed dead, the entire neighborhood apparently broke out into song ("Ding dong, the shoe man's dead"), and declared it a "cruel, cruel hoax" when they found out he was still alive. Al even admits, in another episode, that the entire city of chicago "curses the day [he] was born."
  • Marvel Cinematic Universe:
    • Zig-Zagged with Kingpin's downfall in Daredevil (2015). He works hard to maintain an image of a well-meaning philanthropist falsely accused of horrible crimes, yet he invariably alienates those who actually work for or with him through his behavior (with the notable exception of Wesley, who dies early on anyway) to the point that some of his closest underlings are only there because he's bullied, blackmailed or manipulated them. This is especially notable in season 3 where he gets his entire FBI detail in his pocket by digging up dirt on them and/or threatening their families, leading to them testifying against him once he is actually arrested anyway, and especially with Dex who turns on him the moment he learns that Fisk had Julie killed just to undermine his sanity further. The public at large alternates between loving him and loathing him depending on what they think about him is true, and at the end of the day, he's just plain unable and unwilling to invest in genuine loyalty rather than mere obedience, basically giving members of his own organization every reason to want him to somehow fail.
    • By the end of Season 1 of Luke Cage (2016), nobody can tolerate Diamondback. Stopping him becomes Luke's number one priority. Even all of the villains turn against him, with Shades and Mariah rooting for Luke to take him down and even try to form a truce with him.
  • Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide: "The Killer Bees" are hated by the rest of the school, even other bullies like Loomer and the Huge Crew, due to being obnoxious jerks who dominate the spelling bee and torment everyone else. In their introduction, everyone rallies behind Cookie so that someone can finally beat the Bees, and in their second episode, they actually befriend Cookie...until it turns out they're just using him to get their grades changed in the computer, and he ditches them for Ned immediately.
  • Oz: Absolutely no one likes Scott Ross, due to him being a perverted dickhead who's constantly harassing everyone else for no good reason. Even his closest friend Schillinger doesn't seem to care for him that much, and no one's really that upset when he dies.
  • Pretty Little Liars: Alison DiLaurentis' behavior and antics have earned her the disdain of nearly everyone in Rosewood, and she has multiple enemies on the A-team that want her dead. By the time of season 5, the Liars themselves have gotten sick of her and wonder why they ever put up with her in the first place. Hell, even her own mother seems to hate her, to the extent that when she saw someone hit Alison over the head with a rock, she buried Alison alive to cover for her attacker.
  • Scrubs: Everyone at Sacred Heart hates Dr. Kelso in early seasons, to the extent that when Dr. Cox tricks everyone into thinking Kelso is dead in the episode "My Kingdom," their reactions range from indifference to joy. Deconstructed in his A Day in the Limelight episode, where it's revealed he sets himself up as a Hate Sink so the rest of the staff keeps busy hating him instead of getting into fights with each other. Subverted in the last season after his retirement, where everyone at the hospital greets him like a beloved grandpa when he comes around the hospital Coffee Bucks every day.
  • In the pilot episode of Sherlock the police are tipped off that there are drugs in Sherlock's flat. Every police officer that has had dealings with Sherlock volunteers to search the place and process any evidence.
  • Stargate SG-1:
    • The Goa'uld, not surprisingly given that they've ruled the galaxy for at least ten thousand years by either enslaving, exterminating, or bombing back to the Stone Age any society they encounter. Nicely summed up by bounty hunter Aris Boch when talking SG-1 into helping him capture one that they've never heard of:
Aris Boch: Guys. What's the problem? He's a Goa'uld. You hate them. I hate them. Everybody hates Goa'uld!
    • Senator (and briefly Vice-President) Robert Kinsey, a politician allied with wealthy corporate interests trying to control and monetize the Stargate program. The heroes develop an unreserved loathing for him after too many attempts at political manipulation (often with ruinous results), but it isn't just them. Richard Woolsey and Elizabeth Weir, the bureaucrat and diplomat that he was hoping would help him take control of the program, both turn on him when they discover his criminal associations. Henry Hayes, his running mate that he thought he had enough political clout to control, fires him unceremoniously shortly after their election. And his shadow partners try to have him assassinated when they determine that he's become a liability. In eight seasons, it's hard to think of a single human being that ever expresses any fondness for him. (Except, apparently, his voters).
  • Two and a Half Men:
    • No one likes Judith. Charlie, Alan, Evelyn, Berta and Herb don't like her, and even Jake doesn't seem to care for her much as he gets older. Even her own parents don't seem all that wild about her.
    • Alan himself is a spineless, passive-aggressive leech. No one likes him or has any respect for him, not even his own family (They do love him deep down, but they've made it clear numerous times that they don't like him as a person.)
    • Evelyn is a narcissist of the highest order who has nothing nice to say about anyone. No one wants anything to do with her, to the point where they often hide when she drops by or refuse to answer the phone when she calls.
  • Victorious: Trina is despised by everyone on the show, a fact Jade has stated quite plainly a couple of times throughout the show. She was referred to as "talentless and irritating" in "Helen Back Again", while "Locked Up" demonstrates that her parents would be perfectly happy if Tori took her to Yerba and never brought her back (then again this was after Trina hit her father in the face with a golf club). In "Freak The Freak Out", her parents went to Santa Barbara for the sole purpose of avoiding her.
