Main Story
  • Chapter 1:
    • When Iroha gets adjusted for the first time by Mitama. Mitama had to tweak Iroha's soul gem to power her up so she can fight against Kamihama's stronger than usual witches and familiars. She claims that Iroha had to strip naked as part of the process. Iroha is understandably shocked but Momoko reprimands her for teasing the new girl and Mitama is quick to reassure that it was just a joke.
  • Chapter 2:
    • Mitama mentions that Momoko has been complaining about Yachiyo's stuck-up attitude as a model, and expressing her jealousy of Yachiyo's looks.
Mitama: Those two really don't get along, do they...? From what I understand, they were friends a long time ago, but now, Momoko has nothing good to say about her. "Yachiyo-san's been super-weird lately." "She's gotten super-selfish." "She's changed." "She started working as a model, and now she's got this attitude." "It's totally unfair! She's crazy-strong but she's still so slender, and she's this silky-haired jerk with perfect cuticles... and she has these long lashes. She's a demon lord of baby-smooth skin!" ...she said. She sure doesn't hold back.
Iroha: Is she... insulting her? Praising her?
    • Kaede seeing through Rena's Momoko disguise because "Momoko" is standing too girlish for her standard.
    • One of the things Rena rants against Kaede is that her pets are gross. In the manga adaptation of this scene, Kaede's pets include a snake and a tarantula, who make dumb faces at this accusation in an Imagine Spot.
    • After the fight against the Breakup Staircase Rumor, Rena shares her pudding with everyone. Later, they get a stomachache; the pudding was prepared for Kaede as a sign of goodwill to mend their friendship but Rena Can't Spit It Out, so it had been sitting in Rena's bag for several days. It ends up ruining the otherwise heartwarming end of the entire affair.
  • Chapter 3:
    • When our heroes are brainstorming about a possible Rumor that can give them a lead, Momoko recalls a rumor about an exhibitionist that appears in a certain intersection. Kaede informs her that the rumor is true and their school had sent them notices to avoid that intersection.
    • Tsuruno's first entrance. Really, anytime Tsuruno tries to glomp Yachiyo.
    • When Iroha follows through a stamp rally based on a local folktale about Star-Crossed Lovers to find more leads, she gets weirded out when she finds out that the killing ground of one lover had become Mizuna Girl's School, and later gets somewhat exasperated when she realizes that the entire thing is basically a tourism gimmick (it gets less funny when we finally know about the folktale's context, though).
    • While searching for the Summoning Shrine Rumor, Iroha meets Yachiyo who also searching for it, but get distracted by a Witch that is trying to prey on the shopping mall's visitors. Iroha wonders why there are so many people at the time, only for Yachiyo to remember that there's a sale. They proceed to get further distracted by the sale.
      • In the stage adaptation, Yachiyo has an entire musical number lecturing Iroha about the virtue of discount coupons. The song actually gets used in Episode 4 of the anime (which covers the supermarket scene).
    • At the end of the chapter, after finding out that Iroha is traveling back and forth from her city to Kamihama because she doesn't have a place to stay, Yachiyo calls Iroha's mother and says outright that Iroha is staying with her. Iroha's mother, somewhat delighted that she doesn't have to worry, gives her blessing. Iroha only get slightly upset at this, but quickly moves on.
  • Chapter 4:
    • When Iroha finds out that Nemu, her sister's hospital mate, is a regular in Tsuruno's restaurant Banbanzai, Iroha decides a stake out in Banbanzai. Several weeks later, Iroha gets tired of oily food with nothing to show.
    • Our heroes go inside a sewer under Sankyouin Academy to slay the Rumor that would bring them misfortune. They are immediately greeted by a bunch of bats. One bat smacks Tsuruno in the face.
      • What's Yachiyo's reaction to Tsuruno whining about said bat? Telling her that worse things lurk in Banbanzai.
    • Tsuruno's plan to fend off the Amane twins' sound-based paralysis: scream at each other.
    • Misery Rhyton Rumor's single target attack; one of its owl absent-mindedly drops its bucket on a girl's head, before it returns to get the bucket back and flies away like nothing happens.
  • Chapter 5:
    • The girls at Mikasuki Villa are all playing a phone game about building cities. Tsuruno's city is filled with popular (Chinese) restaurants, Felicia's is filled with farms because she likes cows, Yachiyo's is filled with police stations to Felicia's great concern, and Iroha's city got destroyed by all of Felicia's escaped cows.
    • After Felicia falls asleep after having her hair dried, Yachiyo is caught up in poking her until Felicia, still sleeping, bites her. Felicia then mumbles in her sleep that Yachiyo's finger tasted gross, causing Yachiyo to take back the fact that she finds Felicia cute when sleeping.
    • Tsuruno and Felicia's "heroic" plan to interrogate Tsukuyo about a rumor about the radio tower. They posed as Tsukuyo's parents to get her to meet with them at a restaurant. Tsukuyo refuses to reveal any vital info and attempts to escape. While Tsuruno and Felicia are chasing Tsukuyo, Homura happens to pass by. Tsuruno and Felicia ask Homura to stop Tsukuyo, claiming she is a dine-and-dasher, and Homura pulls a gun on her. Tsukuyo calls Homura out for using too much force.
    • After the heroes had found out that the password to get in a certain Rumor site is written on a radio tower, they immediately rush to it. The Amane twins are seen on the tower, trying to wipe the password off with an organic solvent. It doesn't work and the heroes chase them away.
    • At the end of the chapter, as a chat with Momoko's team gets underway, the sheer level of chaos under Yachiyo's roof makes Kaede have a image spot just trying to imagine handling the strong personalities involved. The poor girl is terrified to even imagine trying to wrangle them all.
  • Chapter 7:
    • Iroha and Yachiyo go into Rumors hunt that is listed in Yachiyo's noteb- ehm, Kamihama Rumor Files. Several of those are pretty much schoolkids' urban legends like headless biker or seeing another world if you look through your own spread legs. One Rumor is about a creature that will steal the clothes of pretty girls. Given that Yachiyo has it written in her files and she's a model, it's implied that she got her dress stolen.
    • When Yachiyo decides to call a truce with Kanagi, the boss of Eastern Kamihama, Kanagi brings our heroes to her workplace - a maid cafe. Momoko asks for a demonstration. Kanagi turns out to be a tsundere maid.
    • After exposing that the Amane twins attempted to incite some in-fighting between her and our heroes, Kanagi gives the twins three choices on how they should surrender themselves. The Amane try to pick the fourth option and attempt an escape. They fail, and Kanagi spanks them for their insolence.
    • Kanagi decides to read the Amane twins' minds to get Tsuruno's location instead of conventionally interrogating them. The two flood their thoughts with a bunch of unrelated things, but all they achieve is giving Kanagi some blackmail material; the twins once tried on each other's school uniforms, but couldn't make them fit because their chest sizes are different.

Side Stories and Events
  • While Ren's story starts off very seriously, it has a few of these moments when Rika is taking Ren to visit her friends:
    • When Rika takes Ren to visit Emily's Consultation Office, a few of the girls there give Ren some gifts. Ria gives her her half-used hand cream, since hand cream used by a famous model like her is much more valuable. Akira then mutters to Ren that she can just throw it out once Ria leaves.
    • When Rika and Emiri take Ren to see Hinano, Rika wants to explain Ren's situation without divulging that Ren had just tried to kill herself. What Rika comes up with is... interesting.
Rika: You see, Ren here's got some problems. And I'm not talking about just like... "Should I get fries or nuggets?" kinda stuff. Like, this is for real serious stuff, okay?
    • Afterward, Emiri and Rika ask Hinano to "whip something up" for Ren to calm her down. Hinano, hardly believing what she's hearing, flat-out refuses as she's neither a pharmacist nor Walter White.
  • Magia Record Story Mitama's Special Training - Mitama Episode: Mitama hosts a quiz competition where all the questions are about herself. Magical girls who answer wrong are eliminated and sent falling in a pit.
    • When Mitama asks about her three sizes, it's implied that Momoko knows the answer. Not that it matters; Mitama answers the question herself.
    • Mitama asked about her age whether she is 17 or 27 years old. Yachiyo thinks this is a trick question. Tsuruno speculates that neither is the correct answer and Mitama is actually 47 years old since she sings old songs. If you pick the 27 years old option, turns out it's Ayame who answers that. She gets dropped into a trapdoor, and the entire thing is played like "Azalea" event's bad end.
    • Mitama asks whether her cooking tastes delicious or not. Given that she has a reputation as a Lethal Chef, the options either involve pandering to Mitama (delicious) or telling the truth (awful).
      • Kako believes that Mitama's cooking is delicious since Mitama bought cookbooks from her bookstore. Felicia objects, saying she passed out from trying Mitama's cooking.
      • Manaka is certain Mitama's cooking is awful, bringing up a rumor that she uses paint as an ingredient. Mitama proudly dismisses the rumor, saying she doesn't cook with paint anymore. Manaka briefly reconsiders her answer, but goes through with saying her cooking sucks after learning that Mitama switched to using banned food colorings
Manaka: Then you didn't really cook with paint, like the rumors said?
Mitama: Oh yes, I've moved well beyond paint.
Manaka: Uh, okay... then I guess I can reconsider things.
Mitama: Now I use Red No.4, Red No.5, Yellow No.1, and Green No.3
Manaka: All of those food colorings are banned! How many people are you trying to kill?!
  • Tsukuyo and Tsukasa's sides stories narrates how the first met each other.
    • They stumbled upon each other while in a shrine to play their flute. Both legitimately thought they would die because they supposedly saw their doppelganger. While this misconception was seemingly dispelled when they learned they have different names, because of their similarities they are convinced that the other is their doppelganger until they saw their flutes made by their father when they dropped them while attempting to flee from one another.
  • Seika is inspired to face her social anxiety while seeing Ayaka's comedy show. Ayaka is unfazed by the indifferent reaction to her puns.
    • Seika is practicing making puns by herself. She becomes caught in the moment until she was caught by her mother who was concerned about her and reminds her that she could always talk to her when there is something troubling her. Seika insists that her mother doesn't need to worry about anything.
      • The joke Seika was making before she got "caught" was on how her home ward of Daitou got its name. It is because one would "DIE TO" go there. Considering the events in "See You Tommorow" her mother would be very concerned.
  • Mayu's Magical Girl Story has Ria, after realizing that Mayu's affect on men was not a deliberate move on her part, starts aggressively intervening when she attracts them. The first two are certainly pushy, but she also intervenes when Sayuki offers to go to an exhibit with Mayu, very much a case of the last thing not being like the others.
  • Alina Comes to Town:
    • Alina was supposed to drain energy from others after fusing with the Uwasa of the Fur God but ends up helping others by aiding the arrest of her "victims" (which includes a kidnapper and a bomber) and bringing Christmas joy to others. This greatly annoys Alina, but Mifuyu secretly prefers this way.
    • Karin writes a manga about the Uwasa-fused Alina, dubbing her "Maiden of Mortality, Christmas Death Caribou". Alina is initially impressed, but then points out that Karin basically plagiarized the dialogue from her favorite manga.
    • Of all the over-the-top nicknames Alina gets while fused with the Uwasa, the one that sticks and by which most people refer to her as is "Death Santa".
  • Special Training - Uwasa Tsuruno starts with Tsuruno trying to beat up Guardians of Time (Felicia and Sana) to search for the one responsible for eating time. It is later revealed that it's the plot for Tsuruno's puppet show to entertain kids in her restaurant. It's not very good.
    • When Tsuruno shows off her characters drawing for the show to Mitama;
Mitama: Oh, it's adorable! This must be Tsuruno, the heroine!
      Tsuruno: No, no. That's Felicia!
Mitama: Oops, sorry! Then is this one Sana?
      Tsuruno: That's Felicia...
      Mitama: ...
      Tsuruno ...
    • After having Karin and Kako fix the story, in the middle of the story, Mitama suddenly appears without rhyme and reason to give a Plot Coupon before leaving. Felicia lampshades the abrupt appearance of a wild Coordinator. Mitama later reveals that she self-plugs in the story without anyone's input.
    • Tsuruno goes to meet the Great Sage (Touka) for clue. The clue is basically Figure It Out Yourself.
    • Tsuruno uses the power of the Plot Coupon to awaken her true strength. Felicia pretty much compares her to Super Saiyan.
    • Mitama tries to convince Tsuruno to put an advertisement for her tuning service, including a free trial.
  • Voices from Beyond: The whole concept of Ghost License is hilariously absurd. When magical girls die they become ghosts and are given ghost licenses. Yachiyo even noted the outrageousness of this, when Kanae and Mel contacted her in a dream. She remembered in her "dream" how Kanae remarked their ghost licenses getting suspended.
  • The Valentine's event A La Carte Valentines had a much sassier take on Madoka.
Sayaka: I don't think you need to go through all the trouble of getting everyone [chocolate]. No need to overdo it.
Madoka: Hmph! So I guess you wouldn't mind if yours was just some dried squid. Hope you like it!
    [...]
Sayaka: The day you get chocolate for the real deal, not just BFFs, might be around the corner!
Madoka: Your Valentine's gift has just been downgraded from squid to seaweed!
    Madoka: Oh, good morning, Homura!
    • Madoka's immense karmic destiny manifests as a giant chocolate egg, which also 'starts talking.
  • The Kamihama Idol Festival Magia Report event has a few of these.
    • Part of the event involves Kamiha Magica doing a collaboration with Sayuki. Naturally, several scenes and the memoria released to the event depict Rena melting down when she gets to be right next to her favorite idol.
    • Given Ren's devotion to Rika, there were already jokes made about Ren being a Loony Fan of hers when Rika was recruited into Kamiha Magica. This was confirmed in the animation for Rena-chan's Magia, which starts with all of the group's fans cheering them on; Ren is easily the most enthusiastic of the lot, holding up fans and wearing a headband with penlights in it. Cue jokes and art of Ren buying mountains of Rika's merchandise.
    • Kamiha Magica competes in an idol brawl tournament, which ends up far from the usual singing contest. Promised Blood takes advantage of the competition as an excuse to beat up Kamihama magical girls, and Juri roasts Kamiha Magica with her flamethrower guitar. Rena retaliates by kicking the bejeezus out of Promised Blood with Cendrillon. Promised Blood evacuates the premise with Ranka's claw machine, shouting cliched magical girl villain's retort, "I'll remember this!"
  • See You Tomorrow: Mito tries out her newfound empathic powers by headbutting Kyubey.
  • Swimsuit Homura's side story,
    • During the events of said story, Homura's enters a fishing contest, in which several other magical girls have also entered, including the Azalea Trio. Having purchased live bait, Ayame asks Hazuki to help her put a worm on her fishhook, but Hazuki is put off by creepy crawlies. Konoha steps up instead, and the screen displays several unpleasant sound effects as Konoha takes the worm and pierces it onto the hook. She then calmly asks Hazuki to do her a favor and take care of Ayame before promptly passing out.
    • Kanoko, after seeing Sayaka on the beach, decides she must wear her new swimsuit. Sayaka, naturally a bit surprised at the request, tries to turn her down. And then Kanoko gets on her knees and starts grabbing at Sayaka's legs to get her to put it on, much to Sayaka's alarm.
    • Emiri suggests that Hinano can use 'that technique' she does to get all the fish. Hinano, who notes that would be essentially Dynamite Fishing, points out that is, among other things, very illegal.
    • Sayaka overheats in Kanoko's swimsuit and has a strange dream involving Kyosuke moving to Prague and Homura wanting to compete with Sayaka in the Olympics. By the time she wakes up Homura had dropped her glasses into the ocean, and the Apartment Trio and Konomi all fell into the water, scaring away all the fish and the former trio sure they'd be in the hospital if they weren't Magical Girls. And Sayaka has no clue what she missed.
    • Because Mitama put Yachiyo in an ultra-competitive trance, not only is she acting like a haughty jerk as the previous fishing champion, but she promptly uses Sayaka as a fishing lure because if Kanoko's 'unique' swimsuit. Which, because it has an electric fan, gets Sayaka electrocuted.
    • This gets a callback during Beachside Bonds, where Sayaka has fishing-related trauma and refuses to go fishing with Kyoko as a result. Kyoko and Mami, who weren't there, are baffled by Homura and Sayaka's descriptions and Kyoko writes it off as Kamihama weirdness.
  • Angels On the Road: Yukika's in-game avatar fights off the seemingly endless security bots that Touka put in place to prevent the avatars from escaping the game, eventually managing to break out of the game and into a neighboring app, which takes the form of a slot machine. She's never been happier.
  • The Christmas 2020 Login Special has the escaped game avatars of Tsuruno and Felicia leave gift vouchers on the phones of several magical girls, along with an invitation to a gift exchange at Mikazuki Villa. Each girl's voucher is for a seemingly random item, but when they gather at the villa, they quickly discover that pairs of girls each have a voucher for something the other wants, leading them to trade with each other. Shizuka is particularly alarmed by her voucher, which is for a "scary-looking book" titled "History of Punishments Volume 3". Who claims ownership of that voucher? Sana. Shizuka can only react with stunned disbelief.
  • The Great Banquet that Transcends Time has several moments.
    • As Promised Blood is trying to figure out what to perform at the titular banquet, Hikaru offers to play the piano. Ao suggests she could manually speedrun a game, comparing it to the piano because both involve pressing buttons, a comparison Hikaru dislikes. Juri, not having anything she can do, wonders about making a ring of fire and having the horse (Hikaru) jump through it, further annoying Hikaru. Yuna wonders if they'll be all right.
    • After Hikaru, Tsuruno, and Sunao go missing with no obvious culprit, Promised Blood confront Yuuna as a rival Kimochi Stone competitor who might have done so. Yuuna insists on her innocence, and when Promised Blood decide to take her prisoner, she escapes by shouting there's something over there then booking it, quickly being intercepted by her butler who already has an escape car ready. Not on of Yuna's better moments.
    • When trapped by the Rumor of the Cemetery Banquet Feast, they need to impress it with having a good party to escape it. However part of the problem is that it is both too merciful to attack you for causing problems, and willing to let you try anything. So its a bizarrely kind Uwasa that makes everything that much harder to deal with.
    • Chiharu tries to impress the aforementioned Uwasa by displaying her memorization of every episode title of The Shaky Shogun. This doesn't work because the Uwasa has not seen the series and can't validate her knowledge of it.
    • Felicia opts for a beef guessing game after the Uwasa starts providing food, and she's more than happy for the quality of the beef provided. The Uwasa then tells Yachiyo to provide her better quality food. Yachiyo, who both values her housemates and is cash conscious, is very annoyed at the implication, which Yuna compares to accusing the older magical girl of feeding Felicia animal feed.
    • At one point, Shizuka, Chiharu, and Sunao perform the Tokime Clan's "Ancestral Calisthenics" in front of the other characters, and while we don't see what they actually do, we are treated to the other characters' increasingly disturbed reactions; Felicia asks how they're holding each other up, Sana asks if human joints are supposed to bend that way, and Ui is vocally traumatized by what she's witnessing.
    • Later in the same story, we learn that Juri didn't learn the term "well-done" until after she became a magical girl, and thus says it all the time because it is still new to her.
  • Sayaka's costume story for her pajama costume starts with a reasonable assembly of everyone helping Sayaka study that slowly but surely devolves into complete chaos as Nagisa needs help with studying junior-high level equations, Kyoko helps Nagisa solve said equations, and Madoka requests help with studying for PE and in doing back flips. Eventually once Kyoko offers to share some cookies with Sayaka, Sayaka realizes she's dreaming and wakes up, only to get a text from Madoka revealing there is a test today and Sayaka realizes she fell asleep trying to study.
  • Yachiyo's costume story for her school uniform has her find her old school uniform and reminisce about it...only for every memory it brings up being a bad one as she's reminded of Mifuyu being lazy, Kanae saying she looks better out of it in an office-lady sort of way, Mel telling her a (forbidden) prediction that she has to get out of it immediately, and Rena saying seeing her in the outfit after seeing her in the magazines is like seeing a high schooler with an elementary school-age backpack.
    • The Mitama school outfit story follows this incident up, as a result of Mitama, wearing her uniform, getting confusion out of Iroha and Felicia and Yachiyo barely resisting the urge to outright laugh at their confusion at Mitama being a high schooler.
  • Homura's Winter Outfit costume event has Homura's fluffy outfit get the attention of Sayaka and Madoka, who just want to pet the fluffiness of it all.
  • Sana's Winter Outfit story has Sana and Iroha drying out persimmons and Yachiyo warning them on large birds that steal persimmons and can't be stopped by regular methods. Therefor Sana has to stake out the persimmon nuts, which reveals said 'birds' are Tsunuro and Felicia.
  • Mifuyu's Swimsuit costume event has her barge into a Magius briefing to accompany several Black Feathers on a ground-level, grunt assignment that, by everyone's metric, is below Mifuyu's paygrade in the organization. The reason for this insistence: she modeled a swimsuit for Alina to draw her in, but Alina immediately lost interest because apparently Mifuyu had gained weight since she bought it three years ago. Mifuyu's insistence on coming along to start working off the weight for summer gets so insistent that even Touka is moderately frightened.
  • Ren's Swimsuit costume story has two.
    • First is the swimsuit store that Hinano picked out that has a lot of adults shopping at, naturally, has a customer service person mistake Hinano for a child. She is naturally furious.
      • Hinano's own swimsuit story expands on this, showing continued issues finding anything that works for her goal of being recognized as a ''Midsummer Sexy Scientist' or 'Dynamite Queen of the Beach' due to her small stature, and not helped by Emiri and Rika, by way of a story told by Emiri, suggest she should try to look cute instead. Eventually she does find something that she likes, and Emiri likes to, as it perfectly captures 'a tiny girl wishing to grow up'. Emiri, naturally, is furious at the implication.
    • The second hilarious moment in Ren's story comes at the end when Rika and Ren are getting shaved ice while waiting on Emiri and Hinano. While wondering about how flavors for shaved ice works, the shopkeeper informs them that all flavors, be they strawberry, melon, or clear, are in fact the same thing. The ramifications of this reveal baffle both of them, with Rika sure it was going to keep her up at night later.
  • Ren's casual story has Rika staring at Ren's outfit intensely, and Ren eventually asks why she's doing that. After a build up, that given their Ship Tease one might assume be Rika confessing to Ren about how it looks, it is eventually revealed that Rika...noticed Ren's collar was inside out and wasn't sure how to point it out.
  • Rena's Christmas Costume event starts with her and Felicia in an argument about if Santa is real or not, an argument in which they apparently changed sides at some point, that managed to lead Rena to changing into her christmas outfit from the Christmas at Mikazuki Villa event to make a point about anyone being able to dress as Santa, which quickly spirals out of control as Momoko is both surprised and happy to see that Rena actually kept it, Kaede is quite happy at seeing all of Rena's cleavage again, Felica compliments the outfit, and otherwise driving Rena's tsundereness into overdrive.
  • Momoko's winter costume event has her, Sana, and Iroha go to Banbanzai's to take advantage of winter vouchers for free food. The free food in turn ends up being hot Stone-Grilled Mapo Tofu', so hot its bubbling, when all of them are wearing white. This drives them to flee until the food cools down.
  • As part of Yuna's efforts to deal with team distractions in the 'Please, Yuna ~Leave Your Worries to Your Eldest Sister' event, Promised Blood gets railroaded into a video game tournament to cover for Ao with her parents as 'Team Buddy Sisters'. Their resulting teamwork, made worse by a distracted Juri, doesn't do them much good, though they do better than Rena's 'Team Young, Hip, and Spunky Girls' (made up of herself, Kaede, Momoko, Kanagi, and Mitama), partially because Juri accidentally discovers a secret game move by weaponizing the fire that went off in their digital kitchen to burn the enemy. Both end up winning awards, the former for discovering the secret game move, and both also find the names of their teams to be terrible (the former being named by Ao to better appeal to her parents, the latter being named by Mitama).
    • Afterwards Promised Blood has to help Juri study with the threat of her being expelled or held back looming. Which proves to be a tall task because Juri's stress levels have to be let out every so often, which involves Juri fighting (with Ao and Rinka drafted to help Juri vent, repeatedly), and then goes into crisis mode when Juri realizes she has seven book reports due, two hours before their due date. Promised Blood, naturally, goes into panic mode.
    • Urara admitting her problem is not feeling mature enough compared to Ao starts up a bit of a mess as Hikaru and Ranka get dragged into the mess about those lacking in maturity that ticks them off that in turn gets snuffed out when Yuna can tell that Urara's just deflecting and she has a reason she's looking at Hikaru all the time other than trying to feel more mature.
    • At the end of the event everyone brings to Yuna's place various presents, rewards, and purchases made at the end of their respective issues to celebrate all of Yuna's efforts to help them. It all ends up being ice cream. Yuna has no problem with this, but everyone else is a little overwhelmed by it all.
  • Juri's winter costume story has her recruit Promised Blood to enter a raffle sale for a embroidered jacket her dad once had, to everyone's grumbling for being very early (and Ao's awkward comeuppance for having previously done the same for a rare game, meaning she can't argue with Juri on this one). While Juri draws a blank, everyone else draws a winning ticket (except maybe Yuna, who refuses to say). Juri eventually just decides to use all of them to buy those jackets.
  • San's swimsuit costume story starts with a flashback of San's fellows in the youth association reacting to her swimsuit with a series of love confessions and arguments over her that makes it seem like they are her harem of suitors, that San may or may not want. It turns out that this is just how Himena interpreted things, a interpretation that San vehemently denies.
  • Mifuyu's Christmas costume story is rather funny in several moments.
    • First of all, it is very much not in season, but Alina demanded it and Mifuyu doesn't want to anger her.
    • After several costumes that were rather safe offscreen, Yachiyo decides to push for some more 'interesting' ones, including a Christmas-themed Bunnygirl outfit. Mifuyu is horrified about the idea of wearing it, believing if she does she'll never be able to be married.
    • When they do eventually find a good outfit after some of the 'fun' outfits, the back clasp of it pops off. Mifuyu frets she gained weight again, though Yachiyo assures her she didn't and has a 'perfect body'.
  • Mami's Swimsuit Costume Story has Homura hand Mami some books that Homura uses with her own combat skills to help her master her firework attacks. However Homura insists on doing it in a discrete place because these books, hinted to be all about explosives, would look suspicious if done too openly, a fact Mami comes to agree with as the material includes 'how to properly fire a missile launcher'.
  • Ryouko's Swimsuit story.
    • Once again Shizuka is very unaware of modern terms, being baffled by the phrases beach volleyball (both words), sun visors, and athlete. However when Chiharu tries to explain sunglasses, Shizuka gets very annoyed. She knows what those are.
    • Part of Ryouko's garb includes a beach shirt and sun visor that her mother had bought, which her fellow Tokimes praise as being very cool. They also praise her regular sunglasses, which aren't from her mother. They're actually the head priest of the temple they're staying at's own personal pair.
  • Shizuka's Winter Costume Event has her out making and preparing chocolates for someone very important to her. This leads Natsuki to believe, based on what words Shizuka used, that she has a fiance when it was actually for her mother. Shizuka's mother finds the entire mix-up a lot funnier than Shizuka. Afterwards Natsuki can only blame being around Aimi too much for her conclusion.
  • Meiyui's winter costume story has her in a bit of a huff, much to the confusion of Nanaka and Akira. As it turns out, some of the Blue Seas Family left some new clothes for her with Kako to surprise her, and Kako heard it as 'martial' wear. What it was was more 'marital'. Good for a date, but not what Meiyui expected and she's a little miffed about it.
  • Ayakao's winter costume story has her looking for an outfit for a comedy competition, with Mitama believing she's looking for a outfit for a date. Miscommunication promptly ensues.
  • Hagumu's Swimsuit Costume story has her try to make a swimsuit for herself with the help of Shigure. Combining Hagumu's sewing equipment and Shigure's electronic equipment creates a (literally) flashy swimsuit that caused bright colors to blast the player and be rather bizarre in-universe, which Hagumu ultimately dubs a 'gaming swimsuit'.
  • Shizuka's Swimsuit story has her embarrassed by modern swimsuits, with Chiharu, after confirming that Shizuka has swum before, wondering how she swam if she didn't use a modern one. As it turns out, she did have a swimsuit, it was just more akin to one used by divers than a bikini.

  • Felicia's Loungewear costume story has her, Ayame, and Kako planning sleepover plans for staying up late so Yachiyo can't stop them. They come up with several layers of plan...that Yachiyo can of course hear and plots petty revenge on Felicia for the next several days over.
  • Nemu's Swimsuit Costume Story has her nervous about trying on her new swimsuit, requiring Touka to also show hers off at the same time to coax her into it. This works a little too well, as Nemu starts admiring herself in a mirror until Touka, changed back into her regular clothes, catches her and gives her a good natured teasing about it.
  • The I'll keep Waiting For You event has several.
    • Sakuya's first meeting with Ryouko, who after saving her from a challenging Witch starts obsessing over her legs to a point Sakuya's rudeness doesn't register, trying to get her to be her friend, and then collapses from hunger. Sakuya's is naturally very confused and a little offput.

  • The 2022 login story The Great Springy Stretchy Mochi Gathering! has a mochi making party with groups divided based on how the mochi is eaten. Comedy ensues.
    • Naturally the moment talk of a cheese toping alongside the soy sauce comes up, Nagisa appears rather excited about it, surprising Kanagi at her sudden arrival. Nagisa is also naturally thrown off when she's told that the cheese is not the focus, the mochi is.
    • When Rena's tsundereness flares up at the red bean past group, she and Kaede naturally squabbling, or rather Rena declares Kaede a 'coarse paster' over her preferences differing from it until Maria soothes it out. Yachiyo attributes this to Maria's experience as someone who's always working with children.
    • The sweets table illicits not just worries of diets among the eaters, but also choking and clean-up issues. As Masara sums it all up
Masara:"Sweets are... Sweet, but not sweet...?"
  • Sudachi's Valentine's Version Magical Girl Story has Mikage reveal that her sister's cooking is capable of curing her cavities. Her sister's sweets are so bad that they outright kill germs and cavities instead of causing them. Sudachi is naturally baffled, but gets why Mikage doesn't want Mitama to help them make their friendship chocolates.
  • Felicia's Halloween Costume Story has her in a cow costume from a school play that she's refused to take off despite it having been days, driving Yachiyo up the wall. Eventually however, Tsuruno manages to get Felicia to change by having a beefsteak dinner, and then reminding Felicia that cows don't eat meat. This, after briefly sending Felicia into a state of panic, gets her to immediately change back into her regular clothes.
  • Tsuruno's Loungewear costume has her, Sana, and Felicia have a late night cookie binge that leaves them too tired to clean up the crumbs, and assume they can just wake up in the morning and hide the evidence from Yachiyo. This does not go as planned, and ultimately the three end up having to run from a peeved Yachiyo while Ui and Iroha watch.
  • Tsuruno's Winter Costume Story has her in a fluffy outfit and deciding to play a game of naming warm things with Iroha that gets out of control to a point she goes from imagining warm foods to running marathons in the desert in thick clothing, which causes her to overheat and rush to change into her school uniform, which she then gets too cold in and rushes back into her fluffy outfit and repeats her intro lines.
    • A similar gag about Tsuruno and the cold is found in her Christmas Costume story, where Tsuruno claims that her reindeer powers protect her from the cold, but they run out and she has to run back to the store, sneezing all the way.
  • The Login story A Merry Christmas in Everyone's Hands has Miitama host a gift swapping event where Magical Girls donations are matched up with those who'd want them. Rena is briefly confused about a microphone she got, which was for her and Momoko to do karaoke with, as its not something they do enough to really get excited about. However after she's informed the mic was originally Sayuki's Rena's tune changes so drastically she immediately faints.
  • Moon Viewing Pajama Party has a few.

    • Sayaka and Iroha, having gotten stuck, bought a dating sim on a wagon sale and the ten play it together. Yachiyo and Homura get deep into the stat system while Felicia, upset about the lack of fighting, sets up a duel in-game that changes the game music into something intense much to her (and Kyoko's) glee and everyone else's surprise. Ultimately they fail to seduce any suitors in game, but do discover a bonus mode you can unlock by slaying a hundred suitors.
    • Hotaru's casual admittance that her pillow might have digested the cast if they didn't get them out in time was not what Akari wanted to hear.
  • Kako's swimsuit costume story has her asking her teammates for help shopping for one, though as it turns out none of them are of much help. Akira's the only one who doesn't try to get her into one more fit for a child than a teenage girl, and Akira's suggestion is far too frilly for Kako's taste. The issues make Nanaka and Meiyui flustered at their screw ups.
  • Ayame's swimsuit costume story has many.
    • First of all comes the reveal of her bikini to Hazuki and Konoha. Its enough to make Konoha collapse.
    • Ayame is completely oblivious to the problems of such a swimsuit despite Hazuki and Konoha's fretting. It takes Felicia saying it lacks 'defensive power' for her to realize there might be a problem, and as Kako lampshades its not even really getting at what the actual problem is.
  • Konomi's Winter Costume Story has her enjoying seeing the winter sakura blossings with Kaede, and eventually gets to talking about her fondness for walks and sunbathing. Kaede, happily, compares it to her grandmother and wants to mimic the both of them, while Konomi is embarrassed to be compared to an old lady.
  • The Flower That Blooms in a Hollow Heart has Yuuna jump into the Kimochi war without knowing what it is about, believing that these jewels make you a saintly chosen one like her personal hero (Holy) Mami. Naturally this complete obliviousness leads to comedy.
    • First of all, the very first people her group ends up asking are Shigure and Hagumu, unwittingly antagonizing the Neo-Magius founders setting the tone of just how much of a mess Yuuna has gotten herself into.
    • Then Hotori and Rion end up asking Ao and Ranka about it, naturally nearly starting a fight with Promised Blood. Though even they can tell that the group are kind of stumbling into it, as Ao telepathically asks Yukkika to go distract the arriving Hikaru to prevent it from spiraling into a war. Ao saying this so casually that Yukkika is naturally taken aback.
  • Ayame's Magical Girl story has her getting into a squabble with Felicia that started over a Witch and led to them competing over whose the stronger Magical Girl, with poor Kako drawn in as the mediator to keep them from defaulting to violence. However even this leads to trouble as their competition leads to breaking public property with arm wrestling, a bug catching contest leads to Kako being covered in caterpillars, a drawing competition that led to Kako being drawn uncharaceristically bulky and muscular (by Ayame) and carrying a ton of weapons (by Felicia), among other hilarities.
  • Shizuka First Sunrise Outfit Magical Girl Story has her need to alter said outfit after she outgrows it and needs to find someone who can amend it on short notice. Remembering something that Emiri said, and not realizing what Emiri actually meant, she goes to find Kanoko to mend it. • Summer With Mikazuki Villa:
    • After Iroha wins a weeklong paid vacation for five people, Yachiyo is trying to figure out who the fifth person should be after herself, Iroha, Felicia, and Sana, when Tsuruno suddenly appears, eager to be part of it. Yachiyo questions when Tsuruno got there, and she clarifies she was there the entire time. Yachiyo then mutters something about getting a better alarm system.
    • When Tsuruno's insertion into the conv gets Yachiyo doubtful to bring her on, Tsuruno starts to beg Iroha, including managing to do a slide right into a bow, a feat that impresses Felicia.
    • When Mikazuki Villa arrives, they run into Momoko and her team. As it turns out, Rena had been informed of the trip by Felicia and practically begged Momoko and Kaede to also take one to be around the others, not that the tsundere will admit it. So, at Kaede's request, they all just humor her that it was a complete coincidence.
    • A game of beach flag goes awry when Tsuruno and Felicia dominate the game, and then eventually Felicia dominates the final matches no matter how many Tsuruno requests, eventually devolving into human beach flag that ends with Tsuruno and Felicia crashing head-long into Rena, with Felicia winning again. Tsuruno, tired and depressed, then promptly falls asleep on top of Rena, who is understandably not in the mood for someone who just knocked her over to sleep on her.
    • Manaka is doing a food event on the beach, and among them is a spicy curry challenge whose contents had already defeated Himika despite the goal of a free dinner voucher. Hearing talk of this 'mightiest curry' draws in Tsuruno and then Felica, who are promptly also defeated by said curry and run immediately to get water. From the ocean. This does not help and triggers a bad ending if Iroha is not firm enough in telling them to not do it.
      • When Iroha is firm enough, Yachiyo takes the challenge instead and wins, stunning the protagonists and causing Manaka to feel depressed at seeing her ultra-spicy curry, spicy enough to burn Rena's eyes just from being near, was eaten so easily. This in turn leads to a chatter about various food related incidents that have them all conclude that Yachiyo is a Big Eater very obsessed with food.
  • Reaching a Happier Height:
    • Part of why Mitama is so insistent on Masara and Kokoro competing is she wants the first prize of....a 5 kilogram bag of high-quality rice. Masara and Kokoro find this prize pretty lame and, as often happens, question what Mitama's actual age is.
      • Later it's also shown that Mitama expects them to win the prize for her, while they assumed she'd be taking part. So when Kokoro is freaking out and trying to get in touch with Mitama minutes before the event starts, she's just casually cooking sweet potatoes. Both Kokoro and Masara are incredulous at the realization.
    • Some of the supplies that Mitama suggests is bear spray. Kokoro questions what sort of mountain that Mitama expects them to climb.
    • Mitama secretly packed 'Mitama's special energy drink' in their bags to help them win. Between Mitama's reputation and the fact the drink glowed neon green, Masara declares it is clearly not meant to be drunk by humans. They still drink it anyway out of curiosity, and it does in fact work.
  • Yozuru's Swimsuit Costume story has her trying to practice be nice to those around her. First to an injured female swimmer, than to a belligerent male swimmer who was the cause of the former's injury. By Bridal Carry. While it does make the male swimmer stop being belligerent out of shock, Livia decides that Yozuru still needs more lessons.
  • Nagisa's Swimsuit Costume story has her trying to pick a floatie out to go with her swimsuit, but is caught up trying to avoid getting the same type as Kyoko, who is bad at swimming and is much as a glutton. While Mami's unsure, she does help Nagisa pick out a non-food related one. Then when they're done, Kyoko and Sayaka show up and Kyoko not only is interested in the same types of floaties as Nagisa, but through her own attempt to avoid getting the same type as Nagisa, gets the same one. The two really are on the save wavelength.

Anime

  • Yachiyo and Momoko's attempt to fulfill the conditions of the Uwasa of the Friendship Ending Staircase. They deadpan tried to "make up" to each other with Iroha remarking that the apology probably needed to be sincere.
  • Mitama's first appearance as a Cordon Bleugh Chef in the anime, putting weird toppings on her cheesecake such as ketchup.
  • In episode 11, Tsukuyo attempted to sneak past Iroha by covering her face with her bag. Iroha isn't fooled in the slightest.
  • The Funny Background Event Running Gag of Homura getting picked up, carried, or dragged around by other members of the holy quintet. In one case, Sayaka picks her up to get her out of danger and apparently forgets to put her down, carrying her around like a sack of potatoes for a good while afterward.

Other

  • Madoka-senpai's mischievous and playful character in contrast to the original Madoka's timidness and meekness.
