Season 1

Pilot

• After Jin, Nicky's dad, is beaten up and sent to the hospital, he says Mei-Li would rather wheel in his dead body than cancel Althea's wedding.

Silence

• Althea's texts to Nicky.
  "If you're late, I'll kill you."
  "If you bail, I'll kill you twice."
  "Love ya! ♥ ♥ ♥"
• When Nicky tells Jin that she'll play Go with him in the house and then, follow it with a visit to the Chinese Community Center to visit Ryan, Jin freaks out a bit and tells her that he's fine.

Patience

• The episode's Running Gag of changing the refrigerator in the kitchen because it's already showing its age.

Hand

• Joe tricks Ryan into taking a closer look at a photo of a bridge by pretending there's a skinny-dipper in it.

Sanctuary

• Nicky showed Althea the plug for the blender after the latter was trying to get it to turn on.

Guidance

• Ryan eating popcorn as he watches his sister get ready for a dangerous cage match.

Destiny

• Althea has a bachelorette party, complete with a party bus and shirtless waiters. Then she finds out that Dennis' mother has invited herself at the last minute.
• Althea has to chug a drink out of one of her old dance trophies. Again, in front of Dennis' mother.
• Henry shows up with a cardboard cutout a shirtless Dennis which Nicky had mailed to the community center so she wouldn't have to explain to her parents. Henry says he had to carry it all the way through the Castro.
• Althea's "screaming internally" smile when Nicky tells her that Chloe, Dennis' little sister, has disappeared.
  Nicky: Please say something so I know you're just processing.
• When Nicky and Henry crash Dennis' bachelor party, Althea says that whatever they see there, she doesn't want to know about it. What disgusting debauchery is going on at that party? A Dungeons & Dragons game.
  Dennis: SUCK MY DRAGON FIRE!
• Chloe's former friends start throwing things at Nicky and Henry, forcing them to save a Priceless Ming Vase.
• When they get back to the party, Althea expresses shock at what Nicky and Henry telling her about...Dennis' Dungeons and Dragons game.

Choice

• Nicky reacts with shock that Evan is now single. Althea teases him that she needs to check her social media accounts more.

Attachment

• Nicky and Henry hook up...but she's freaking out a statue "is looking at us" so Henry tosses his shirt over it.
  • They wake up the next morning with a pack of seniors wanting to use the library. After frantically cleaning up, they leave...and the smirks of several ladies let them know they're fully aware of what the two were up to.
  • Chloe's own reaction is "I'm impressed."
• The moment Jin and Mei-Li bring out a feast for an emergency family meeting, the siblings know bad news is coming. The last time they did that, they said Ryan's pet hamster had cancer.

Sacrifice

• Althea in a panic as she cleans the house in preparation for her grandmother's visit.
• Jin, Dennis, and Ryan show up to the house covered in paint from paintballing and with Dennis limping. This is Dennis' first time meeting Althea's grandmother.
• When the grandmother arrives, she complains the house is too cold. Not five minutes later, before Mei-Li and Nicky can even do anything to change the temperature, she then complains the house is too hot. The two of them just sigh and get to work again.
• Althea makes a Grand Staircase Entrance in her wedding qipao, only for her grandmother to say her dress is ugly and rip it up.

Transformation

• Nicky left her family an elaborate playbook to deal with every possible disaster at the wedding, including what to do if their grandmother accidentally drinks Dennis' grandmother's favorite tea.
• Ryan greets Nicky and asks her about what happened in China. The latter says she feel different. Ryan now asks if she's got superpowers like super strength, telekinesis or X-ray vision.

Season 2

Year of the Tiger: Part 1

• Ryan gets Nicky to do martial arts moves to see if there's any Biange energy that makes her unique. Nicky tells him that she's not a mutant and tells him to stop being obsessive with comics.

Clementine

• Dennis and Nicky's sheer panic when they find out Clementine's been stolen
• Clementine's backstory. Althea saw her in a used car lot but couldn't afford her, so she would haunt the lot and scare off potential buyers.
• Nicky says Clementine is the love of Althea's life. In front of Dennis. Who isn't the least bit offended.
• Althea finally tracking Dennis down, sarcastically listing out all the crap she'd been through that day with an Un-Smile, and then asking where Clementine was.
• The story of how Henry's parents met. Henry's mom was on a date with a white guy and his dad was working at the dock putting on their life jackets. He asked for her number in front of her date and got socked in the eye. He got it anyway.
• Nicky and Dennis read the list of activities at the fancy criminal party they're sneaking into. Molly, spice, 'shrooms, and a karaoke lounge.
• The attendant at the party insists they're not drug dealers...because they give out drugs for free.
• Nicky gets caught in the garage and says she's just there to check out the "dope wheels".
• Leif orders his guards to kill Dennis and Althea, only for them to uncomfortably refuse because they're not criminals, just private security guards.
• The car chase scene. Nicky might be an expert martial artist but she's completely out of her depth here.
  Dennis: What are we going to do when we catch him?
  Nicky: Uh, I don't know.
• Nicky stops Leif by bumping Clementine and sending her into a spin. Then they realize that there were explosives in the trunk.
• Dennis and Althea have a heartwarming talk about Dennis' insecurities. Nicky and Leif, who's still pinned to the hood of a car, watch with smiles. Leif even gives them a thumbs-up.
• After all that, Clementine blows up.
• Nicky and Henry are making out in a hallway with the typical "romantic song" coming in...and then Ryan pops up behind them as the music cuts with a "record scratch" sound.

Reunion

• When caught by their boss hacking files, Nadia claims she was trying to delete a racy photo she sent Evan. Not only does her boss buy it but even goes "I knew all along" the two were together with Nadia just staring.

Jyu Sa

• Ryan defends Godzilla.
  Henry: You don't just demolish a city for no reason.
  Althea: Unless you're Godzilla.
  Ryan: No, he had his reasons.
• Althea's newfound casual attitude to the supernatural.
  Althea: Did Nicky tell you about the magic earthquake?
  Dennis: No.
  Althea: Well, I'm sure she'd got that covered.

The Enclave

• How did Nicky and the gang help pull off the heist to stop Russel Tan? They ask the parents to pull it off. Both of them surprisingly agree.
• Althea and Evan distract a guard by faking an argument over a cryptocurrency scam.
  • Also funny on a meta level since Tony Chung (Dennis' actor) is an advocate of cryptocurrency in real life.

Alliance

• Henry and Daniel looking mighty serious when they mention that what seems to be a speaker rigged up to scramble any mystical sounds as the last solution to stop Russel from using the bell. They then say that they're not sure it can work.
• Nadia meeting Zhilan. She has no idea who she is, so she treats this dangerous killer with a smile and a handshake.
• Evan got a kiss from Nadia before she left the Shen residence to hide with her family in case the bell can't be destroyed. Everyone in the house, including Zhilan, was kinda amused that it happened.
  Evan: I had no idea.
  Althea: Really?

The Source

• Ryan gives everyone a quick rundown of everything that's happened that includes "Russell's Kerwin now."
• When wondering what to do about the now-immortal Russell, Dennis proposes an idea based on Dungeons & Dragons.

Season 3

Shifu

• Ryan and Althea take a few minutes to admire each other of their fighting moves after taking down the lone gunman despite Nicky being in trouble.
• Dennis and Althea are making out in bed but take time to get rid of her staring stuffed rabbit and a picture of Jin.
• As she opens the door to leave, Nicky turns and talks about how Althea has become a Shipper on Deck for her and Bo. She doesn't realize that Bo is standing right outside the door.
• Althea ushers Ryan out of Nicky's apartment, leaving her alone with Bo and pointedly taking a photo of Nicky and Henry with her.
• Althea, Ryan, and Bo accidentally trigger a bomb and look on the Internet to find out how to defuse it.
  Bo: This video says we just need to cut the red wire.
  Ryan: Oh! (Moves away revealing that all the wires in the bomb are red).

The Compass

• Nicky spins a completely BS story about Henry to the FBI agent searching for him so that Bo has time to hack his computer.
  Nicky: Henry said something to me, and it was so weird I'll never forget it. (Dramatic Pause) "Bagels."

Harmony

• Mei-li accuses Melody Dumplings of ripping off Harmony Dumplings. When the family points out that Melody is the owner's name, Mei-li says she probably changed her name just to be petty.
• The Ugly Cute mascot "Lil Dumpy" that Jin created for the restaurant resembles Jeff the Killer.
• Althea interrogates Leif, who taunts her with a Hannibal Lecture about wrecking her car, all while eating a clementine orange. Althea eventually tricks him into revealing he knows nothing about their family business and tells Leif he's actually eating a tangerine. As she leaves, Leif begs her not to go as he's bored in prison.
• When someone leaves threatening messages to her, Nicky soon starts tracking down practically every low-level thug she's beaten up in the last two seasons, some of whom have even formed a "support group" to handle the humiliation of some young woman beating them all. So who's to blame for all this? A girl who had dreamed of being a chef until she saw Nicky gagging on her dumplings and so began stalking Nicky.
• Ryan trying to find a gift for Sebastian. He eventually finds a fancy kitchen knife, but the seller asks him to retrieve a wedding ring that his dog swallowed and is about to pass.
• Nicky infiltrating the support group.
  • Master Drake hasn't given up his old ways. He runs the support group but claims members have to pay for a "premium program" to be truly healed.
  • Nicky gets locked in and discovered. She tries to be friendly and even compliments Kendall's new blonde hair. It doesn't work.
  • Nicky doesn't even remember Benny even though he was from only three episodes back.
• Nicky tries to say the dumplings were good...and then blurts, "I'm sorry, I'm a really bad liar." That sets Tracy off to break out some stunning gymnastics moves for a fight involving everything from her riding on a rolling cart to nearly skewering Ryan with a knife which Sebastian admires and thanks Ryan for finding it.
• Tracy throws a bottle at the lobster tank. After a brief Hope Spot where the tank holds and everyone sighs in relief, it shatters.
• After smashing up half the restaurant, the girl gloats she got her revenge and is about to leave...and then Althea comes back and smacks the door right into her face to knock her out.
• The girl's mother apologizes to the family for this, as she'd tried to tell her daughter she just wasn't cut out to be a chef.
  Mother: It never made sense. She's so naturally athletic.
  Nicky: Yeah, I noticed.

Villains

• Zhilan scoffs at the idea of powering one of the soul swords from the wastelands via electricity. Ryan argues it can work... based on Occam's Razor.

Alias

• Zhilan came back to see Nicky. She wanted to gloat over her being arrested by the SFPD.
• Althea tries to go undercover with a wig but still obviously her. She puts on glasses and everyone plays along she looks different.
• Zhilan shows up as Althea's "sister," which includes a slap in public.
  Althea: I'm still mad at Zhilan.
  Nicky: Over the slap?
  Althea:The poncho, she outdressed me!

Beginning

• Zhilan was offered sweets. When she said that she likes them, she also added that she's allergic to them.
